Not salty, I'm just curious about the general community here. If this was a Nintendo forum then I wouldn't be surprised by that pick, but something is fishy when that game gets #1 on system wars. I just didn't realize how many Nintendo fanboys plagued this site. Now I know.

I also found Persona 5 ranked #3 very strange. When did this site become a haven for weeaboos? Persona games sell like ass, so how the hell would it make #3? There must be a lot of people on these forums with very niche tastes.

Realistically, outside these forums either Mass Effect or RDR2 would have won.

Seriously what the hell is Rockstar's beef with the pc? First they went after pc users modding their singleplayer experience of GTA5 with bans.. Now they are just not releasing RDR2 on the pc. Do they just have a hard on for absolute control of their game and how people should play them even in a singleplayer setting?

Again this fanboy missed that Sea of Thieves made the list. Again just making up facts as he does in all his post! All in all it was a good list I think!

Persona is an incredibly niche franchise and somehow it hit #3? You would need a very condensed group of hardcore Japanese game fans in one forum to make that happen. Legend of Zelda being #1 only makes sense if the majority of people on these forums are into Zelda, so that means a larger chunk of that Wii U install base frequent these forums more so than PS4 or XB1 fanboys.

@emgesp: I mean I'm sure parts of the PS4, X1, and PC bases intersect with the Wii U base. And there's the fact that BotW is also coming to the Switch, so it's possible there were people that hated the Wii U that are hopeful and interested in the Switch? It's not like it's outlandish to have interest in a game on a system you don't own (assuming one is not a fanboy of course). I don't own a PS4 yet but that doesn't stop Horizon: Zero Dawn from looking pretty cool to me.

No vote for what you want, but its telling when an incredibly niche fanchise like Persona is ranked #3 on that list. Shows you what kind of gamers frequent these forums. Weeaboos and Nintendo Fanboys.

Not really. Zelda is being anticipated by people who don't even own Nintendo systems. Zelda is a very popular series, you know. It's a series EVERYONE knows about, and if there's a new game in the series coming out said to be the biggest and prettiest Zelda ever made plus shaking up the formula, it will generate interest, not just from Nintendo fanboys.

Can't speak for Persona 5 though. I guess this forum really likes that one.. If it wasn't for GameSpot's forums, I probably wouldn't even know about its existence.

How can people who never owned or even considered owning a Wii U be hyped for a Zelda game?

I don't see how this new Zelda game is going to appeal to gamers outside the established Zelda fan base.

Basically, if you are into Zelda you would have bought a Wii U by now, especially with the quality remasters of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess being released for it.

Maybe they're considering getting a Switch? :)

I don't find it odd to be hyped for a game you don't own the console it's for myself, but OK.

I was hyped for The Last Guardian in the sense that I thought it was gonna be a sweet game, but I don't own a PS of any kind and don't plan to. I was just a little bummed I wont play the game. It looks cool, despite the annoying controls and AI.

So they didn't find those two Zelda remasters appealing enough to grab a Wii U? Those remasters are a great excuse to either replay them or even play them for the first time before Breath of the Wild gets released.

I felt they were already too fresh in my mind. I played through Wind Waker three times and nearly finished Twilight Princess twice, but ultimately only completed it once.

That's not to say I won't pick up the remasters somewhere down the line but I just didn't feel like I needed them at the time. Which is why Breath of the Wild is more exciting as a fan of the series. It's a new game. :P

maybe you should watch the gameplay footage again. i haven't seen an open-world game with the level of environmental interactivity, scale, non-linearity, and polish that breath of the wild is promising. i'd be hyped whether or not this was a zelda game, but the fact that this is a zelda game only indicates the high level of quality you can expect.

Zelda is one of the biggest gaming franchises around. You don't need to be a sheep to like Zelda.

Persona 4 Golden is one of the highest-rated games of this generation, despite being a remaster. You don't need to be a "weeaboo" to like Persona.

Good list, hard to argue with. 2017 looks to be a god year.

In comparison to a lot of other franchises Zelda is not that big. It sells about as well as Uncharted games give or take.


Persona might be highly rated, but its incredibly niche franchise. Its only relevant to the most core of gamers.

Zelda looks great. Definitely getting the Switch for that game alone.

Sea of Thieves looks interesting, Rare looks like they may be making interesting games again.

RDR2 will most likely be a home run.

Horizon looks like a game I could get into. It's not like the last Killzone was bad, just wasn't spectacular. Games was gorgeous though.

Not sure why anyone is getting excited for Scalebound. It doesn't look that great.

Persona also looks boring to me.

I guess I just do not have the dorky sense of humor needed to appreciate Japanese RPGs.
