There are som great games this year that didnt get the respect they deserve, so i wanted to respect them here 1. Splinter Cell Conviction- this game really hooked mr, but really annoyed others. Its a shame, since reviewers apparently didnt want ubisoft to completley throw away the old formula like they did. I can help but chuckle, because if they didnt do much with the formula, then reviews would have just complained it changed to little! Reviewers really grind my gears! The game in and of itself was great and , lets be honest, a ton of good old fun. 2. Transformers- now there is a good game right there that is bound to win nothing for GOTY except maybe "Most Surprisingly Good Game" award. So, yeah , the game graphics sucked and was a bit of a gears of war and call of duty copycat. But, jeez, cant we at least admit it belongs in the hall of fame for best good games to be based off television or movie material?! It was epic in tht regard! 3. Alan Wake- wow, this game was really good. The fun was bogged down by repitition, but just the design of the story and characters and such are just a great breath of fresh air in this gaming world where every video game must be like watching 300. 4. BBC2- this game wasnt completely neglected, as alot of COD haters ran there for shelter. But it was definitely not given as much attention as it deserved, as it drfintiely didnt garner the great online audience it should have earned. Plus it just looked great and was really realistic, so here is to hoping the vietnam pack will revive its fame a bit 5. Bio2- they say if it aint broken dont fix it, and bio2 certainly thought that because it was very familiar. But is there any doubt in the end the gamr wasnt stil reaking with quality story telling and gameplay?! Its a shame reviewers can never helo judging games by comparing them to other games. These were the ones i thought were the most neglected... If i missed any big neglected ones, well, i guess you know then that game is certainly neglected too haha

Just not enough to type out their entire title.

Alan Wake was fun and its Microsofts own fault for setting the release date to compete with Red Dead.

I'd agree with BC 2 being neglected. Itcertainly sold enough copies but it really should have been so much more.

It's definetley of better quality than Call of Duty.

And what happened to Alan Wake is just criminal. I'll never forgive Microsoft for releasing it on the same day as one of this years blockbusters from a dev studio that consistently sells millions upon millions with each consecutive title.

It was the stupidest, most thoughtless decision I've think they've ever made. The game was in development for YEARS! They couldn't have waited a couple of months?

Such a beautiful game, with so much work put into it and selling like it did? It actually makes me sick, it really does...

im guessing from the typo u mean bfbc2? if so..then it wasnt neglected... it sold like what 5 million copies to begin with... imo its not that great of a game.. My neglected title for 2010 would be 3d dot game heroes... i love that game.

I thought Blur was a fun little racing game that was very neglected. You can blame its awful marketing for that though.

Yeah, I only played the demo but it was genuinely excellent.

I sort of feel bad now that Bizzare are shutting down. They deserve a lot better than that.

Wii's entire library is neglected. NMH2, Tatsunako, Sin and punishment, etc. I swear people are only mentioning SMG2 because of it's score. The content is irreverent apparently.

Knights in the Nightmare (PSP) siLVURcross

Gamers' Temple has such a idiotic review on KitK, here's the metacritic quote:

"The nonsensical gameplay is weighed down by far too many complex and confusing rules and stats, and all you really ever do is move a point of light around an SRPG grid-based world."

Har, har, har.

Anyways, I have an obligation to say Sengoku Basara 3 (in the west). The game got so much hate from critics in the west, but I have put in over 200 hours in it and I'm still not done.

Cool, a Nier thread.

Game is GOTY material but was ignored, pretty much everywhere. I'd also toss in DJ Max Portable 3 (best music game this year) and Amnesia, though Amnesia did get praise, it didn't get nearly as much attention as it deserved.

Slashkice
DJ Max Portable 3 was little disappointing, demanded way too much grinding, and 0.2 modes were.... little clunky. but a fun game nonetheless. I just liked Black Square and DMP2 more. I would say Valkyria Chronicles 2

1. Enslaved. It suffers from the same problems that the first Uncharted did (short, less than stellar combat), but also has the same good qualities (great characters, collectibles in the levels, oodles of charm). The difference is that Uncharted got a lot of love due to exclusivity, and Enslaved isn't getting that same luxury. 2. Costume Quest. A cute little RPG that is great for gamers of all ages. 3. Blur. It's fun, simple, and absolutely crazy. This game is so chaotic, if you go in looking to win every race you are screwed. If you want to have some good fun, even if it just means duking it out for second to last place, this is your game.

Alan Wake was a fantastic game that no one bought. It's a damn shame, too. It was incredibly unique.

And as for the whole release date thing, Rockstar delayed RDR to the date that Alan Wake was already scheduled to release on. People seem to forget that.

Mount&Blade: Warband, it easily has the best medieval combat system smashing a enemy vassal in the face with a maul has never been so satisfying :).
Eschalon Book 2, is the best RPG released this year in my opinion, yet it never seems to get much mention.

Resonance Of Fate - The gameplay may be abit complicated but once you get the system down this game is one of the best JRPG's this generation on consoles (Even if that isn't saying much :-p).

Splinter Cell Conviction was properly neglected IMO. I even borrowed it and tried it, almost changed my opinion of it, but found it so dull and repetitive I had no desire to keep going. I dunno about Transformers, it outperformed what people expected from it and a lot more people were playing it or talking about it than almost any other movie-based game in the past couple yrs. Alan Wake might have been slightly neglected, but I think that's because it had been hyped up for years and years and didn't quiiiiiiite deliver the goods as well as a game in dev for that long probably should have. BBC2 was a killer game and everyone i know was playing it w/ me, but I agree that it should have got more shine, on the level of COD or Halo since it's easily as good (and IMO, better).

Yes, I agree with Blur so much. It's definitely the most ignorned title of the year. It's probably the best racer I've ever played. Granted, I don't play many racers, but that's just how amazing it was to me.
The really sad thing is that, although it had no marketing budget, it had really clever and funny commercials that would've sold the game, if anyone was ever able to actually see them.

I'm gonna have to agree with this one. Although it was strickly single player, wow what a story. The set pieces were so well done (so was the lack of HUD).

Disagreeing with BFBC2, over 9000 people played that game.

As for Alan Wake, as much as M$ wasted ad space screaming about the game, that flavor of survival horror isn't for everyone, DERP.

Yeah, it wasn't the gameplay that drew me in. It was more the story and voice acting. I'll be picking it up eventually. Right after Sonic Colours, Epic Mickey and Donkey Kong Country Returns. Oh, and Lost In Shadow! *sigh* Too many games!

As a Bioshock 1 fanboy I cannot say Bioshock 2 was neglected. The game just feels like it was more focused on that AWFUL AWFUL multiplayer then the actual story of the game. The game is good but I think they should of worked on the single player more

Hopefully Airshock wont have the multiplayer.

How were Splinter Cell: Conviction, Battlefield: Bad Company 2 or Bioshock 2 terribly neglected? They all sold millions. Just because they aren't the best selling games of the year doesn't mean they were neglected? And Alan despite not being a run away success still go plenty of exposure and advertising and sold hundred of thousands. Now Transformers, that might be a different story but considering the fact that Activision has announced a sequel in the works should suggest it saw some measure of success. Also, consider the fact that the only reason it's notable at all is that it's a good Transformers game. Ignore the fact that its a Transformers game at all and can you think of a reason why people should care about it? Sure it's good but in the face of competition like Halo: Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 just being good is not going to cut it.

I'll agree with Bad Company 2 being neglected. I can sit and play Bad Company 2 for hours, but can't stand black ops on my 360 for some reason. Everything in that game just feels alot better then COD games to me.

Does castlevania and yakuza 3 count. Those 2 were basicly part of my favortie games this year.
