The thing you complain most about the PS3 is something Sony has always delivered

The Games, it always comes down to the games and you guys have completely forgotten that Sony were the leaders for a decade not because of the name or the new features but because of the games.

You will still get to play GTA on your PS3, you will still get to play MGS on your PS3, you will still get to play Tekken on your PS3, you will still get to play every 3rd Party title (PS3 sequals)you played last gen on your PS3. So whats the problem ? Stop complaining about te games because it's pitiful considering Sony have always delivered on the games.

You guys have amazingly put it in your head that Sony are capabale of leading the industry in under a year with it's new console and get out all it's top exclusives like MGS4, FF13 within the 1st few months of release. Sony are not miracle workers but I can tell you one thing, they stick by their console to the end and make sure it has great long term success and that the owners are happy about the purchase.

360 came in a year early so it's games obviously will look slightly better for the 1st few months after the PS3 is out because developers are getting used to the PS3 and trying to overcome it's hurdles etc. You just can't compare a consoles 1st year with another consoles 2nd year. Now that it's 08 the battlefield will get more leveled and you will see alot more games PS3 has to offer but don't assume that Sony didn't get everything out in it's 1st year.

You guys are not developers so stop acting like one, developing for a new console is tough and the 1st year is bound to be full of problems. The fact that Sony have overcome most of their problems should be evident that this year will be a much better year for PS3.

Each Gen has always gotten longer then the last. the SNES vs Sega era, the N64 vs PS1 era, the PS2 era and now this Gen will no doubt last for 8 years atleast. The cost of development etc is really high this gen, remarkably high so Microsoft & Sony are not going to bring out a new console for quite sometime which I assume fits well with Sony's strategy for long term success.

As it currently stands i'll be playing the new MS console before I get exclusives worth turning my PS3 back on for. Sorry but it really hasn't cut the mustard so far and another round of shinier MGS, FF or GT just doesn't do it for me.

It is a great media center though and i'm still convinced that was what Sony were aiming for allalong anyway.

Bingo. Just go to the AVS forum and you'll see that A.) They consider the PS3 to be the best blu ray player+other media and B.) many don't care about games at all.

Even if PS3 sales continue to increase, it means very little for the gamers because gaming sales are abysmal because of attitudes like the above towards the unit.

Well, when those games actually release and are innovative enough to be worth a purchase then i'll agree with you. However, lets see how many of those go multi, how many get delayed and how many flop outright before we start praising Sony.

This gen won't last 8 years. MS will probably release a console in 2010, maybe late 2009.james28893

Can't see it happening. Microsoft are not going start from scratch that early especially considering how well they are doing with 360. Plus if they do release a console that early it will downright flop due to the PS3 & Wii with they're huge user base and quality of games not to mention developers will be able to make games on the PS3 quicker & better with less cost

It would be insanely stupid to release a new console so soon. Also, they will not even think of bringing out something new until the next version of XBL is finished. The 360 has longer legs than the original Xbox, the library is better and the online service is popular. And they are actually making money.

Took 5 years for the xbox to die, I know the 360 has done better but if MS gets ahead of the competition again then...

I HATE when people do this. You don't know anything for sure about 90 percent of those games. You don't know the quality or the actual release date of any of those titles. Making a list like that proves nothing. It's something that any fanboy for any of the consoles could do.heretrix

That's what people said about Lair and look how that turned out. Haven't people learned anything from that? Hyping a game like Heavy Rain or Eight Days (it isn't even clear if they are actual games or tech demos) off of one minute clips of test footage is just asking for it. Seriously, I didn't understand the hype for Lair when they first showed it, and I'm not getting the hype for either of those games either. I would find it hard to care about any game until I saw ACTUAL gameplay vids. Those games may never come out.

Haze is a timed exclusive not a proper one.

Well, i think it is safe to say that this year will probably rock for Cows, and Sheep also.

While MS is publishing stuff like Mass Effect, and getting Bioshock.

And while Nintendo is taking risks with old franchises like Metroid Prime 3, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros Brawl, the next Zelda as well

PS3 is given us a prettier Tekken, a prettier Ratchet & Clank, a prettier Gran Turismo.

It feels like their letting the industry pass them.

If MS or Nintendo wins this generation, Sony will be forced to scrap the PS3 just like MS scrapped the Xbox.

So whats the problem ? Stop complaining about te games because it's pitiful considering Sony have always delivered on the games.

You guys have amazingly put it in your head that Sony are capabale of leading the industry in under a year with it's new console and get out all it's top exclusives like MGS4, FF13 within the 1st few months of release. Sony are not miracle workers but I can tell you one thing, they stick by their console to the end and make sure it has great long term success and that the owners are happy about the purchase.

360 came in a year early so it's games obviously will look slightly better for the 1st few months after the PS3 is out because developers are getting used to the PS3 and trying to overcome it's hurdles etc. You just can't compare a consoles 1st year with another consoles 2nd year. Now that it's 08 the battlefield will get more leveled and you will see alot more games PS3 has to offer but don't assume that Sony didn't get everything out in it's 1st year.

You guys are not developers so stop acting like one, developing for a new console is tough and the 1st year is bound to be full of problems. The fact that Sony have overcome most of their problems should be evident that this year will be a much better year for PS3.

Each Gen has always gotten longer then the last. the SNES vs Sega era, the N64 vs PS1 era, the PS2 era and now this Gen will no doubt last for 8 years atleast. The cost of development etc is really high this gen, remarkably high so Microsoft & Sony are not going to bring out a new console for quite sometime which I assume fits well with Sony's strategy for long term success.

I would also like to add that there are LOTS more exclusive titles which are either TBA or name unknown, games like Syphon Filter, Jak 4, ZOE3, Cellius games, Jaffe's new studio games, Rockstar's PS3 exclusiveetc etc.

Expect more exclusives to be anounced at GDC, E3, TGS.

why don't you just own all the consoles, and a PC, and play whatever you want.

I doubt even half of those games will be worth playing.

The ownage upon release is even sweeter.

What I don't get though, as gamers, people are willing to wait about 10 months to play anything decent, when you can already play better games on other consoles. Are they that ridiculous that they're willing to let the months flitter away on System Wars waiting for their precious rehashes to come out while everyone else is having fun with their consoles ?

Buying a PS3 before Xmas 08 is an extremely premature venture, you can have a good time with the available games, though you'll find better incarnations of the majority of PS3 games on the 360, and it's just not enough.

If anything, the 360 is going to be closest to repeating its library for 2007 with it's exclusives.

I actually can't think of any exclusives for the PS3 that would be worth it besides MGS4..... and, err.. GT5 rumoured to be pushed back to 2009, FFXIII isn't coming out until 2009... then what ? Oh Little Big Planet, Tekken and Killzone 2, how AMUSING.
