ok then here´s something you forgot: action adventure games
stika
I specifically said that I didn't include all the games and genres becuase I didn't want to make a massive list, so no I didn't "forget" anything. And listing "action-adventure" REALLY isn't smart if your supporting Western because the Japanese embrassingly beat the Western devs in that genre.
yeah... i loved playing with mileena
but then again... isnt akuma also overpowering?
stika
No, Chun-Li, Yun, and Ken are but nowhere near the amount of Mileena.
[QUOTE="nivet14"]I can't choose.

^^^
There is too much awesomeness in both sides to choose just one.
^^^
I really can't choose. I like too much from both sides.
I like both J and W RPGs, RTS, occasional FPS; love Zelda, which gives a decent push for the Japanese side.
[QUOTE="stika"]i understand calling that to primal rage, but did you just call Killer instinct and MK2 horrible? well.... it could be worse... at least their not some generic asian RPG full emo´s and pink haired cat girls
Gunraidan
Yes they really really are horrible and unbalanced and unpolished which is why they are constantly ridicululed constantly in the fighitng community and most of the times made fun of.....I'm seriously not kidding they're just bad. If you REALLY think Mortal Kombat 2 is a good fighting game then clearly you know absoluetly nothing about it since Milenna single handed can kill everyone and the amount of pointless combos make the game irrelevant. It is by fact when including the realm of skill, balanced, and depth that those games are horrible.
I actually wanted to put in games that actually required skill and is focused for the core gaming community.
Ya, I use to love Mortal Kombat......as a kid. You'd think as you grow older you'd prefer playing the "mature" fighters (the stuff with the blood and guts) instead of the Japanese kiddyfighters /w the pink cat girls and emos (What the hell is stika talking about?) that's supposedly oriented towards a younger audience.
But, I can't deny how crappy a lot of western fighters are. Killer Instinct, Clay Fighters, and Mortal Kombat are all garbage. I use to love em, but you come to realization after playing the better fighters like Virtua Fighter, Soul Calibur, and Street Fighter that those games are trash.
Besides some Nintendo and Capcom games, there really isn't anything that can touch the great "Western" games I've played through out my life.
Nowadays, it's pretty much just 1st party Nintendo and Resident evil that attract me Japanese wise, the rest is garbage to me.
Well for me I'd definately say Japanese.
I mean the only Western games I like are single player shooters *Half-Life 2*, Multiplayer Shooters *CounterStrike*, Single Player Action Adventure *Deus Ex and NO it is NOT an RPG*, and some Extreme Sports games *SSX*.
But besides that I can't get into them, Adventure games seems to long and boring, WRPG's to me seem to be just wandering around and figuring out what to do all day, and RTS is too involving to me I don't feel like playing a game for hours.
I strongly prefer JRPG's *no not that Final Fantasy Story-Driven crap*, Fighting Games, and my love for Nintendo more. :)

yeah i agree with you on Deus ex not being an RPG, but you really need to give a bigger try on strategym adventure and WRPG, its not about figuring what to do, its chooseing what you want to do that the gam is all about
Western gaming by far. There is really no contest here.smokeydabear076
Yea, thanks for leaving us in the lurch as to why you would say something so ridiculous.
Sorry guys I had to take out the "both" option since EVERYBODY would've picked it.

I've played many WRPG's including Planescape and I thought they all suck. The fact that it takes forever to accomplish a tast is ludicrious in my opinion.

Didn't sound like an opinion to me. "There is really no contest here." sounded rather general to me.

Wow this is the second time today that someone has forgotten that polls don't ask for facts. Stop making assumptions.[QUOTE="amorbis1001"]western gaming ftw, i love ninty first party but western gaming has my love, and btw zelda could be considered a western as japanese isn't really interested in such a great series they are more interested in metro sexuals.Gunraidan
Can somebody tell me where this stupid stereotype comes from? Because the last 5 Japanese games I've played were Persona 3, Odin Sphere, Resident Evil 4, and Super Paper Mario and I didn't see any "metrosexuals" in them.
It comes from most of their Rpgs. Final Fantasy characters tend to be on the femenine side and I can't remember what the game was called but the main character was a guy and looked like he needed at least a c cup.

Well thats just the way it is. I rarely say imo with things like this because it is implied. The way you stated what you said sounded like you were stating something as fact. Everyone else managed to add an "imo" or "to me".

No,because that isn't true either. I hardly ever play RPG's where I see metrosexual characters. I never saw an Atlus game with a "metrosexual character", NIS games don't have "metrosexual" characters except Disgaea, Suikoden doesn't have any either, Fire Emblem doesn't have any "metrosexual characters". The ONLY company that does that consistently is Square-Enix.

Why are you making something so small such a big deal?
it is really really close for me but when i thought of my top ten favorite games of all time, japanesse came out on top and when it comes to what i buy it is about 55 percetn japanese 45 percent western. both sides make great games! i cant picture playing just one type of them.

Actually Suikoden have its share of "metrosexual look" characters, at V... the prince. (it's a queendom and all but still... he looks like a cute girl. :P) There is another guy from the Amnes whom many female villagers mistake as a woman.
The main character in Growlanser IV (the game itself, not OVA) looks like he has applied lipstick, so... a bit feminine I suppose (?)
I love both. Those who say japanese gaming is crap seriously hasn't

Ignorance ftw :D
Without the japanese gaming industry, gaming would be stale and dead basically and I most probably wouldn't be a gamer..
I used to think likethat, now however games are not as good as they used to be... So i'd vote for them both sucking this current gen... Gaming sucks as a hole now it's just insane amounts of shooters and thats it basically.. you know I'm right.
