Many of us here complain non-stop about the lack of creativity in today's video games. Most of us see it that it's all big publishers pumping out rushed movie tie-ins, sequels to dying franchises, and yearly sports updates.
Big publishers however, are quick to blame us, the gamer, for not buying their new IPs and forcing them to invest heavily in more secure avenues such as Halo 4.
But who's really to blame, what's really stopping us from playing truly innovative games?
I personally think that the publishers' answer is a cop out, and that they don't market their new IP's aggressively enough. Which is why games like Mirror's Edge, Beyond Good & Evil, and Brutal Legend don't sell as well as the movie tie-ins, sequels, or sports games.
