About the floppage thing, I agree with TC tbh, lair has already flopped, look at EGMS review in the sept issue. 6.0, 5.5 and 5.0. So that pretty much means it sucks. Uncharted also looks like it'll flop, i'd never even heard of the game till this, mostly because is magazines and the internet it's got little coverage, in my monthly magazine it's gotten like one issues of half a page. Pretty much spells it out, it doesn't seem that good anyway, it certainly isn't AA, not even close to AAA.
I disagree with HS though, that does actualy seem pretty good. Although most games with flashy buttons on the screen suck. Like spiderman ect, hopefully this one won't be a let down.
Warhawk I have a feeling will also flop, due to the fact it seems gimicky and a bit boring after you get over the whole "ZOMG i can titlz!" i think it'll seem shallow. Expect a 7.5 I think. Not a flop but still not what people are expecting.
I woulnd't say the war is over, it's going to be tied between the Wii and the 360, and c'mon guys, who really has that much hardcore gamage out of the Wii? It's only doing well because of its widespread audiance, so I sorta respect Ninty for that, but o nthe other hand, all they've done is throw motion sensors on there and thats it. Most of the technology was last-gen, and motion sensors arn't that much of a major thing. It's not exactly new. I'm not going to say it's not fun though, for the first hour it's great, and at partys. It's like the eye-toy though, was pretty fun at sleep-overs + partys when you're all hyper or drunk. But to sit b yourself and game with it gets boring after an hour.
The PS3 though, I must say is looking dangerously bad. It's not selling, Sony is bleeding money and with no really must have games till at least 2008 2 years into the consoles life cycle, it doesn't warrant a £450 ($900) or $600 purchase, even with the price cut was there really any need to buy it now? If it does pick up in say anouther year or so, it'll probably be alot cheeper. And say all these amazing games don't flop, and smack AAA then is th etime to buy a PS3 not atm, when all it is is a blu-ray player that can play a few games, not the other way around. The only reason you'd by it at launch is if you either had complete faith that sonys the best (fanboys) or you're totally hardcore and have all three systems, in which case I salute you. Mostly because atm, you have a cheep blu-ray player.
The 360 does have alot of failing problems, but with the 3 year warrenty I think MSoft is doing a decent job to cover it. They shouldn't have released such a buggy console in the first place, but it isn't as bad as everyone makes out. If it puts you off playing all the good games it has atm, you're not a gamer. Gamers buy stuff on release, just to be hardcore. But sadly, you can shout all you want, the 360 does have the best games RIGHT NOW. And quite a few good games are coming out soon. You could just wait a yea, but who wants to spent $500, for it to gather dust for a year before it gets good?
Call me a fan-boy all you like, I've just tried to be fair and give my perspective on things.
