I hold this game and the developer as THE worst in the entire industry. With that said, I'm actually glad they're getting their sh*t f*cked up and frankly don't care about their customer's getting f*cked too. Sounds awful, I know, but the idiots that support this terrible "game" and their duplicitous developers deserve none better. Link below.

People who bought into that trash of a game deserve to be exploited. I applaud the hacker(s) who did this and hope thye can further run this game into the ground.

Only the ones who defended this game so much, I'm sure there are a lot of innocent people who just thought they'd try this game out not knowing the problems.

Exactly, people that say "Oh, you want people to lose their jobs? They have families to feed etc etc". In this case, I do not care. The devs are scumbags and liars and do not deserve a dime for that travesty of a game. It seems to be working for them too since it is constantly one of the top sellers on Steam.

They all deserve nothing better. I wouldn't be surprised if it's Hammerhead selling off customer details to Nigerian identity thieves and claiming that their top level security has been compromised.

After all the sh*t they've pulled wouldn't be surprised either. They don't even try to hide that they're running a scam.

Yes, they are awful consumers who do not research games properly. Once gameplay started coming out from this and more details emerged, most people knew it was going to be trailer trash. The dimwits who bought the game saw the 'Z' at the end of it and said "Hurrrr dats liek dat DaiZ gaem dat i liekd" and clicked the purchase button.

This is why they want to make it for PS4 as fast as possible, PS4 will have much better security so none of these problems will occur.

Yeah I don't think I'd mind if the guy was found dead, he is a horrible person who only wants money and doesn't care how he gets it. Unfortunately I still think the people who bought the game are just as bad and should try bungee jumping with a steel cable.

Wasn't this game rife with hackers already? No real surprise that the hackers took the next step, although I would have preferred it if they hacked the developers and not their game. They're kinda punishing the wrong people here.

There are those who bought the game in good faith, and for them it's unfortunate. But those who buy stuff without doing the slightest bit of research, or do, and disregard the plethora of bad stuff they unearth, could stand to learn a lesson I reckon. I have no sympathy for those people. They're why we can't have nice things.

Is there no such thing as impulse buying or casual consumers on pc as a platform then? can nobody check the steam store, think something looks interesting and just buy it? Sure, they could research to see if a game is reviewed well but it is not usually in peoples mindsets to actually see if a game is functional seeing as this isn't usually a problem, hell, it being on steam probably gained most peoples trust. sure they could be more wary but sometimes I buy games due to liking the look of them instead of checking the damn metacritic rating and customer reviews and I shouldn't have to check these things. It being on the top sellers also probably said something...

with the metacritic rating on the war Z steam store page at a lovely 20/100, I'm wondering who bothered to buy it anyways, plus the fact that steam users petitioned it to be removed a while back, only allowing it to return when the store page wasn't a bunch of lies

What a horrible thing to say. No seriously, I don't care for the devs, but it's no good when any consumer gets ****ed over this badly, even if the game is ****. Same with the whole stupid PSN account hacking and so on.

PSN is a good, quality product though. I would completely agree with you in any other case or circumstance but for this particular game, I stand by what I said, "f*ck em."

Considering that you can only get it on steam ( not entirely sure but the other DD stores i look they dont sell it ) and on the games page on Steam it has a big fat metacritic score of 20/100 those people deserved to be hacked. I sometimes end up buying low scoring games ( not that low though ) but i do a search on why people gave them such a low score and if is something that interest me and is legit and not a scum i will buy it and that what people who bought Warz should have done. 10 minute research

Wow this thread is sad.

I agree the company is awful.

But saying that people who may not frequent boards or do as much research as us may have bought it.

Saying it's ok for people to get their information stolen is just awful.

But this is just a sad sad thread.

The game is sold only on steam. If you go to the steam game page it has a big fat metacritic score of 20/100 ( all games have their MC score on steam ) . If you are gonna buy a game out of impulse that has such a low score at least make a 10minute search especially if the game is an MMO that requires billing information

Even if you dont visit gaming boards you cant miss the metacritic score on steams page

Nope it's also sold through their site (I don't know if it then goes through steam) and i'm sure many pre-ordered and it is a lot of effort to cancel a steam pre order. There are such things as casual consumers and impulse buys... even trust. A new company coming out with a rip-off game probably wasn't going to go down very well, but people may've bought based on how it sounds and looks interesting (possibly even unaware of dayZ, casual consumers do exist yaknow)
