Every Valve game has been totally awesome. Meanwhile, Nintendo usually makes at least one mediocre game in each of its franchises.

Sure, Nintendo has been around longer, and Valve don't make many games, and they're two of the best developers in the industry, but I'd argue that Valve has a better track record than Nintendo.

I wouldn't. You're implying that having such a track record like Valve means something extremely good. When they've only originally created two whole games and two stand alone expansions (and especially when they're all merely FPSs), I wouldn't be judging them against Nintendo.

Say some new cool-cut R&B singer comes out with a smash debut album. He follows it up with an even better sophomore.

Nintendo have done more than just one genre. In fact, they've excelled at quite a few genres. Sure, they make a few stinkers, like Steven Spielberg's 1941, but does it really take away from their artistic merits?

Don't get me wrong, I love both companies, but I honestly think that Valve have been making better games lately.

For example, Valve recently made The Orange Box, which is extraordinarily brilliant.

Meanwhile, Nintendo (or their first party developers) made Super Mario Galaxy (slightly overrated, but still fantastic), Twilight Princess (the most boring 3D Zelda game, imo), Phantom Hourglass (easily my least favourite 2D Zelda game), Metroid Prime 3 (worst in the Prime series) and Super Paper Mario (painfully slow-paced, not as good as TTYD).
I mean, I enjoyed those games, but Nintendo have made better games in the past. Hence, their recent games are a bit weak

*Edit* OK, OK, I see your point. Nintendo have churned out a crapload of good games in the time it took Valve to make one great compilation of small games. I'll shut up. :P

Fanboyz will laugh at you just because you said Michale Jackson and somewhere along the line, the world Pedophile will come to play.....and ignore all the records the man broken since the Jackson 5 days....especially the Album Thriller and Bad....Still THE best R&B albums ever made.....I think you should have used something more innocuous, like the Bettles or Elvis....

i like having both...best of both worlds. heavens knows the PC, 360 and PS3 also miss out on alot of crackers.
