[QUOTE="PCFr3ak89"]...If * It had a worthy controller. * If it had comparable graphics. * If it had more all around developer support and less shovel ware. * If the online was even comparable to PS2's online. * Shall I continue? Pices* The controller is amazing for games like Metroid and madworld. You can use the gc and classic controller * At least they're better than last gen, why does it have to follow the same direction as 360 or ps3? * It has great 3rd party support and the no.1 selling console will always have shovelware just like the ps1 and ps2 (you don't have to buy them) * Its getting better
Please tell me you're joking, also, yes PS1 and PS2 had tons of shovelware, but they also had sh*tload of great games, the Wii is basically the gamecube of this gen, only difference is that its selling much better.
too bad lemmings and cows while u fight it out the wii owns all and it dont matter if u like it or not the wii will win ths gen

At least the shovel ware wasn't notorious for over-shadowing the rest of the good games * Sadder than Titanic? Little do you know that Wiimote + Nunchuck is amazing for games like Metroid Prime * Still, the graphics have been improved from last gen. I doubted nintendo's wii to be powerful since the GC's horrible state

Sony made a huge amount of profit from the ps2, with that amount of money, they made a powerful ps3
The Wii is a good little console and I like the motion controls if done right (Take SMG or MP3 as an example).. However it would have been an excellent console if it were as powerful as the Xbox 360/PS3 because then it would have gotten much better third party support as well as many more multiplat games. Not to mention a nice graphical upgradefor our favorite Nintendo games, I mean imagine playing Metroid Prime Trilogy with Halo 3 or Killzone 2 level of graphics and physics, that would make the world more believable and suck you in that much more.
Wiimote >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> dual analog.
Nearly everything you can do with a standard game pad you can do better and more comfortably with the wiimote/nunchcuk.

Who cares if it's believable, it's a video game. There is no point in having every console play the exact same games.

You're right, it is subjective. And there are more genres than FPS's (but judging by the way people act and by the games being released today, you would never know).
Still, IMHO I find the wiimote better for shooters than dual analog and you can still turn much much faster and aim much much faster than dual analog. But, I also feel that the 'dead zone' set up the wiimote uses for FPS's is not the best set up it could be. I think there are better ways to control FPS's with the wiimote that dev aren't using.

I care and I'm sure many others do too. Graphics and physics arent everything but they can add to the game and draw you into the experience more.[QUOTE="supa_badman"]1.The fact that you need another controller from the past or another peripheral to play some games as they should be played is kinda sad, IMO the wii mote should have been an 'add-on' for a lack of a better word, and classic controller as the standard 2. because graphics are kind of essential for something that says it's 'next-gen' 3. [QUOTE="VendettaRed07"]Although it doesn't annoy me, I agree. Imagine how great if we had a counterpart to Mario Galaxy with the same score, a counterpart to Mario Kart with the same score, a counterpart to Brawl with the same score. Banjo, Diddy Kong Racing, and Killer Instinct.....Imo the wiis problem is that its just an n64 if rareware didnt make games for it. Nintendo needs a company like rareware to put out games that are similar, and yet polar opposite to their own. Nintendos support for it, imo is just as good as ever with the amount of games, but they are lacking their yin to their yang.

a new perfect dark would be pretty sweet too :D and conker. I just think people are exaggerating when they say nintendo is leaving the hardcore, its not that because they are still making the hardcore games with the new wii casual games which can be pretty fun too. Its just they have that missing element of a strong second party to make their system feel complete to fill whatever gaps nintendo leaves. like with online multiplayer, on the n64 Rares games always had amazing multiplayer and made the most out of what the system offered them, if rare made games for the wii im willing to bet they would have made the wiis online seem alot stronger than it looks right now
i agree to some extent that the wii is a "gimmick" in that most of the games made for it are shovelware, or just really bad, but you have to admit there are quite a few gems that make the system worth owning. of course, i would never buy one, but that is more due to my taste than the quality of the games.chopperdave447Gimmicks can be good, every gimmick is not a bad thing. You don't have to buy the shovelware, I don't
