I'll start by saying I own a Wii, 360, DS, PSP, and a gaming PC.
So I noticed that people are saying things like the Wii is back. But the problem with that is, even if the Wii got apparently like 10 new games in the next 2-3 months that still would not matter. The Wii is great for multiplayer and it has a few good games for singleplayer. Because the thing is, the Wii's games are much lower quality than PS3/360's.
The top Wii games like Brawl and No More Heroes if released on a next gen console even if they made the graphics updated would recieve "good" reviews at the most. Because of so many reasons the best Wii games only compare to decent next gen games. The only game that would hold up as amazing on a 360/PS3 (graphics aside) would be Super Mario Galaxy. And here are the facts about the Wii compared to next gen games:
- Wii has far worse graphics
- Friend Codes
- Overall poor online (I.E. Brawl)
- Almost no games have mic support
- No DLC on anything but music games
- Horrible amount of memory (even with SD card)
- No achievements/trophies
- Only 420p support
- Can not play DVDs
- No MP3 support
- No menu themes
- Very few FPSs
- Poor power
So looking at all of these factsand not opinions how can anybody say that the Wii is even competing against the PS3/360? The only thing it has going for it is good sales but those are from casual gamers. I used to think the Wii was a great console too until I bought the 360. And then I realized that all the tons of Wii games I had just weren't any good compared to the 360. And again, my question is, looking at all of this how can anyone say the Wii is competing with the 360/PS3?
