these are all things that describe the nintendo wii and nintendo in general. And i firmly belive more will be added to the ist in the future.

back before the wii was announced people were spectulating on what nintendo had to offer. people were worried and some people were not worried at all. the wii mote was announced and the rest as they say is history.

now the wii leads in rate of sells and will soon overtake the 360. wii fit is the epitome of what nintendo plans with the wii. to expand the way we, as gamers, look at games. wii fit is the begining of the shift to a totally sense of relism never before seen in games. nintendo is going to give what all gamers hae been asking for:innovation

If the future is 1-2 good games every few months, with a severe lack of AA-AAA third party titles, I'll be pitching a tent in the past.

it may be the future, but NOT the future for gamers

actually it is the future for gamers. it saddens me to see gamers with such a narrow viewpoint

IMO, we play games to relax. Sit on the sofa, drinking cola, playing some game. But imagine in the future if games require wiifit like rpgs to dodge and all that, won't you be tired before you even get through one part of the game? Wii is making everyone move about where gaming IMO should be relaxing. Wanna exercise? Go to the gym, run around your neighbourhood, go swimming, go do some sports, I doubt playing some games to kill calories is the way to go.

Nintendo Wii - enjoy the same games and graphics real gamers played five years ago - now with a Wiimote! The true advancement of gaming in a positive direction isn't coming from Nintendo. A great deal of the future of gaming lies in the development of better standards in modular laptop production, with it becoming the mainstream. It's being held back by companies like Dell, who are scared of losing business to parts suppliers like Newegg were they to go all-modular. Cheap media / gaming laptops are going to be vital to the advancement of gaming. On the home front - the coming media PC / console merger will do wonders for gaming as a whole, especially if consoles become more modular and upgradeable in the next generation.

A good example, apart from that the new cars also have steering wheels. But i like the GPS reference. Question: How many of the millions of people who have in-car GPS actually need in-car GPS? I drive over 40,000 miles per year for work and have never needed one. (Put another way, I played LoZ:TP for 50 hours over the last fortnight and never once felt I needed HD or Blu-Ray).

i think thats the whole thing nintendos trying to get at. can you really call a nintendo fan a hardcore gamer??? nintendo has seen there would be no point in having a 3rd console with crazy good graphics and just become another player in this game between the other two major corps. instead nintendos doing their own thing for people who just wanna cheaper,and much more different approach to gaming. no one said youre either limited to buying a wii or ps3/360.nintendo knows they have something good because alot of people are going to see it as either they prefer 360 or ps3. but then theres little nintendo sitting right there at a nice price has a different approach to gaming. so instead of buying 2 consoles at a 400+ price alot of people are going to see it like hey ps3/xbox 360 are very much the same thing. i can get one of these and a wii and have a great mix of games i want to play on my own,and games i can play with friends/family,or to just bring me back to the good ol times.wiis here wether any of you like it or not. i say just enjoy what you have.

Thanks for a good respond. But at the last you said "enjoy what you have". Now that's what's worrying me. I'm a hardcore gamer and I love long,epical games. But will it really be neccessary to have a 30mil dollar budget to make a awesome game when developers know that the can just make a bunch of mini-games release it for Wii and BOOM! Platinum hit. I'm glad that companies decides to go different aproaches but was Nintendo's approach daring and innovative or were they just being cowards and didn't want to compete with Sony and MS?
