First off let me just state that I owna Gamecube and N64.

Nowlet me just saythat it is sad that the Wii is being bought so much and enjoyed apparently. I haven't read or heard anyone bash it. But from what I'ved played and seen of it, I have to a conclude that the Wii is just bad for gaming it doesn't do anything but to say its different and have last gen graphics.

I really think people are missing out on the better choice of the360 which has tons of fun games.The PS3 is too expensive right now but even at the high price it is at now it is still a better choice than theWii.

The TC is right, there isnt a HUGE step in graphics, only minor details. I remember playing my Gamcube in 02 with Star Wars: Rogue Leader: Rogue Squadron II, which was a GC launch title, and that looks amazing.

THAT'S PRETTY MUCH WHAT THE 360 AND PS3 LOOK LIKE NOW, THE ONLY THING IS THE CRAFTS AND ENVIRONMENTS WOULD BE POLISHED A LITTLE.

How the hell are you camparing the ps2 to the wii? by sales? what does that have to do with anything? The ps2 had games for everyone meaning it had variety, the wii has games rated E meaning the games require an IQ of 12 to play, how can you campare the 2 consoles? The games have nothing to do with eachother.

Um, you realize there are 10x as many "Wii will destroy gaming" threads then there are "Wii is the best, look at the sales" threads.

Anytime I look at the front page, half of it is usually a Wii bashing thread. Then anytime I open it, it's the same lame ass arguments. I wish E3 would get here so there are chances of real conversations.

I'd argue that the PS3 and 360 are both good for gaming, because each one is pushing console gaming in a new direction (the 360 is making a much more expansive online infostructure, while the PS3 is trying to usher in a new era for video game technology), but in that same light, so is the Wii. I completely agree that the Wii would be better if it were more powerful graphically (it's hard for me to play Gears of War in HD, and then go and play Wario Ware in 480p), but that shouldn't take away from the leap of faith that Nintendo took in creating the system.

To be honest, if the Wii were a $350 or $400motion-sensing machine with Xbox 360 graphics, would it be selling the way it is? Probably not; at $250 people are willing to see if the Wii is a gimmick, but add too much more to the price, and it's a system for hardcore gamers. For $250, people are more willing to wait out these crappy PS2 ports, in the hopes that Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy really show what the Wiimote can do. For $400...It's just an Xbox 360 with a weird controller and not enough good games. Look at the PS3; it's stuttering right now because it can't find a way to distance itself from its cheaper MS competitor (which has many more games and at the moment equal graphical prowess). If Nintendo released a similar product, it would be in the same hole.

But they didn't, so now 3rd party developers have to scramble all over the place, trying to figure out which console to support, and what type of game to make to support it. Any time we make game developers try to make games (instead of just releasing a yearly Madden port), that's a good thing. And any time a new way to play games is introduced, that only expands the possibilities that we as gamers will have, in the future.

I haven't read anyone bash it.

Honestly, the Wii must die stuff is getting old. The PS3 is stuttering cause its overpriced, the 360 is still going strong and the Wii is just plain bombing throws to the backfield. The current rank is basically 1. XBox 360 2. Nintendo Wii and 3. PS3. People are actually smart with their money and save it till the price of a PS3 goes to a more reasonable price. Now I love video games, and seriously considered getting a PS3, but $700 was way too much when I could get a Wii for $250 or even a 360 for $350-$400.DeathClockKing

It's fairly sad that well-written posts on system wars aren't the norm or even all that common, as I've noticed that the people writing them tend, even in argument, to come to an agreement on at least certain aspects of the other's position. Most people will look at this post and say, "Huh? Agreement? In System Wars?" Yes, it does happen, and on those extremely rare occasions on which it does, reality as we know it is threatened.

It means that people are obviously fed up with the games they get on the PS3, Xbox360 and PC. Simple. I love my PC and the games there, but somedays I wish to play something different. Looking at the PS3, Xbox360 I don't see anything so much different, while if I look at the Wii I see a lot of different stuff.
