The Wii = The new PS2

Theres going to be many people who will deny this but thats okay. Its the truth. Ever since the Wiis release in 2006, it has been selling like hot cakes. It's only a matter of time b/f 3rd parties realize the potential of the Wii and ditch the HD twins altogether. I firmly believe that E3 this year will make people wonder why they didnt get one in the first place. Soon enough the Wii will have a library that will even make the PS2 green with envy.

I can say without a shred of disbelief, Wii will never be as good--in terms of games and their quality--as the PS2. You're right about sales, though, it is selling better than the PS2.

Also I highly doubt the Wii will last as long as the PS2, Nintendo don't make their hardware last as long as Sony does.

But I guess business-wise, the Wii is a much bigger success.

By last do you mean in terms of staying competitive technically, or long term durability?

Because my NES and SNES have outlasted my PS1, PS2, and Xbox.:P

the ps2 had its share of bad games but when like90 percent of your game library is trash...... i have to disagree with this comparrison

How so? Both are small, cheap, and were underpowered in their respective generations and had the most install base.

The PS2 had some horrible games but it had some amazing games, the Wii has some horrible games.

The Wii is slightly lacking at the minute, but come the end of the year, its games library will put the PS3 and 360 to SHAME.

For sales, yes. For games, it has a long way to go.

Considering the combined sales of PS3 and 360 match that of the Wii, I think we'll be seeing a lot more 3rd party multiplat titles.

It's been shown, that games such as Madworld haven't sold amazingly well. Which is unfortunate.

LKS is probably the Wii's best game since Brawl. The conduit is trash that would've been laughed at in 2003.

Yes I own a Wii and it's FEW RPGs are no where near the dozens that the PS2 had. Nor is the support of said titles anywhere close to being equal. I agree there are some out there that are coming, but that doesn't mean they're anywhere close.

I dont think so, the PS2 had one hell of a library, if the Wii wants to ever be compared to to the PS2 its lineup for the next few years has to be just as good or better than this year, which has TONS of potentially great Wii titles.
