Loved the 3DS, just too many games to keep up with there. Wii U 's glory was short lived, overall though both offered me many hours of fun, quite a few gems in that library. I wish we saw better VC support on Wii U. I wish Nintendo would have offered DS titles digitally on 3DS eShop, instead they tried that on Wii U, doesn't make sense there.

I personally like the refurbished Wii U I got off of nintendo. Great local multiplayer games and other hits like Toad Treasure Tracker are why I like the system.

Never cared about the 3DS as I am not really a portable gamer (I do own a Vita though). The Wii U was under-powered and gimmicky. No killer games from Nintendo that made me want to buy the system. Overall, not impressed at all by Nintendo since the original Wii came out.

I purchased a 3ds and returned it after a few days. The Wii U only has a few titles I want to play(Mario Maker, Smash, and Kart) and it was never enough to make me purchase the console. Having a PC, I do not care about multi plats, but I'm hoping the Nintendo Switch will have enough exclusives to bring me over. Can't justify several hundred dollars on a sub par library.

it just showed me once again that nintendo only really cares about its handhelds. WiiU felt dead on arrival while 3ds just kept getting support.

WiiU - Still my favorite console of the gen. Still possibly my least favorite Nintendo console.

3DS - I know I own one, can't remember where it's at. Probably gave it to my sis or something.

The U is total shit and was a failure in my opinion, now they decide to follow it up with an equally shitty & under-powered system...way to go nintendo.

Wow. Charizard finally admits the Wii U sucks. He used to make anti-Sony pro Wii U threads all the time.

@SolidGame_basic:

Pretty sure Chaz has been saying the Wii U is disappointing while also saying the PS4 is his favorite console for years now.... pretty sure he had a similar stance on the PS3 and Wii as well.

lol

3ds: Incredible system. Mario 3d Land is one of my favorite games of all time. Link between worlds was great as was the OoT remaster. Donkey kong country, street fighter 4, re revelations and mgs3d were all very good as well. The only complaint I have about the system is the low res screens.

Solid 8.5/10.

DS I rate 9/10 for comparisons sake. DS-lite is the greatest handheld of all time.

The WiiU on the other hand was overpriced and unappealing garbage from the start. At the start of it's life it was matched up against the ps3 and 360 which offered much better libraries, and a blu ray player in the case of the ps3. Now you can buy an xb1 or ps4 for a comparable price.

Even smash bros couldn't save this pile of shit.

3DS - blargh..but that's just mostly me..just no longer into portable gaming...

Wii U - pretty much the system itself was okay (wish it had more games like Xenoblade X, Bayo 2 etc)...the gamepad was useless...added to the system cost but ultimately..wasted money on it (the gamepad). Have to say a tad disappointed with Wii U overall...kinda makes cautious about dropping $$$ on Nintendo Switchy. :P

I played a lot more the 3DS than the Vita and for longer but in the end no games had a lasting impression on me as the few game I played on the Vita. I sold the Vita to get a 3DS and then sold the 3DS a few months ago and I'm itching to buy a Vita again.

The WiiU was fun but so easy that I gave up on it in less than a year. I did played Splatoon, Mario Kart 8, Mario 3D World, New Super Mario U, Smash Bros and Bayonetta 2. Cool but yeah ... I was playing Final Fantasy XIII Lightning Returns and at one point I was more excited to play that the anything on the WiiU so I sold it.

WiiU was a waste, but i make enough where the investment for the small payout was worth it. The 3DS i lost a while ago.

I think you're being a bit hasty on calling the end of the 3DS. It's still selling decent, and more importantly, games are still doing well. Developers and publishers are going to keep putting out games for it as long as they keep selling. I expect the 3DS is going to be with us and getting consistent releases for at least another year, maybe longer. Sort of like how back when the PS2 kept chugging on along even after the PS3 released. Besides, it's still Nintendo's only fallback if the Switch under performs.

But on topic, the WiiU is about as disappointing as it could have been, and easily Nintendo's worst. Good riddance. Hope they manage to turn things around with the Switch. It'd be nice to be excited about Nintendo again.

I have enjoyed my Wii U, and find myself playing it quite a bit right now. However, comparatively to the Wii, I didn't enjoy it as much. The Wii's first party lineup of Metroid 3, Galaxy 1 and 2, Twilight Princess/Skyward Sword, were really the defining games for me on the platform. Of course Mario Kart, and a great Smash Bros. as well.

I feel like the Wii U didn't have the same thing. There was no Metroid, Smash Bros. stripped the single player campaign (which I thoroughly enjoyed), Mario Kart 8 was amazing (and better than the Wii) but the battle mode was atrocious. I did love Captain Toad, I am enjoying Starfox, Super Mario 3D World was fun but it was not Galaxy 1 or 2 caliber imo, and no official release of Zelda ever came - except for Breath of the Wild which is pulling a Twilight Princess... At least the Gamecube got Windwaker during it's cycle, not at the end.

And for me, the worst was the droughts Wii U would get...

So all in all, I enjoyed my Wii U, but definitely not to the extent of my Wii.

Love my 3DS. Had a WiiU for about 7 months and I don't care for it.

3DS only became a good device after the New3DS released. It was technically underwhelming and made a bad bet on the wrong tech (3D). Fortunately, Nintendo was willing to step in to save the platform by slashing its price by 30% within the first year and I still largely credit third party support for keeping it afloat. My personal enjoyment of the platform has been low, but I can acknowledge its appeal (though I think the quality of its titles are inflated by many).

Wii U, in my mind, had legs to stand on but Nintendo f*cked up both marketing and product strategy so badly that they hurried it to its grave. Unlike the 3DS, Nintendo wasn't willing to bite the bullet by slashing their overpriced unit and by the time it became feasible, it was already beyond saving. But what it failed to do on the hardware side, its software still managed to shine. But at the end of the day, none of the titles I enjoyed needed the Wii U to exist and it would have been better if they released on other devices.
