And when Smash Bros. U and Mario Kart U drop, Nintendo will be laughing all the way to the bank.

If they had released the Wii U back in 2006 with the same specs, they would be in a much better position right now. Timstuff
People so easily forget history. Had the DS/Wii "cheaper hardware sold at substantial profit" not succeeded, Nintendo would be gone from the industry right now. They could certainly not have afforded an HD powerhouse in 2006 sold at a loss. Nintendo is an extremely successful business with nothing but growth in their future. U jelly of their success? If you want a powerhouse, why not get a PC with an octo-core processor and 13 GPUs? Consoles, the truly successful ones, have always run on the "hardware innovation through input or tech-trend gimmicks, rather than sheer power" model. I'm kind of surprised the 360 and PS3 did as well as they did. I'm guessing Kinect and Move helped.

The Wii U could sell 20 million units and it would probably be profitable for Nintendo, they arent exactly putting as much money into this thing as Sony and Microsoft do.

You are correct but if this happens it still puts immense pressure on nintendo to put out compelling software like they did with the n64 and gc. The support the wii got was lacking and will not cut it this time

This is all very simple. Right now the Wii U is struggling to play games made for the 7 year old 360. I'll give Ninty the benefit of the doubt and say that devs will get their crap together in 2-3 years. The problem is that by then the 720 (ps4 will die fast with new DRM restric) will be out and third party devs will abandon the Wii U like they did the Wii. The graphical leap between the two will be equal to the Wii and 360. They might get some watered down ports for a year or two. After that it'll be dejavu.

I highly doubt that.

[QUOTE="Lightning_fan"][QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Wanting a company to fail is pretty juvenile.

super600

Not really he gave a pretty good reason. With Nintendo gone the industry can move forward.

:lol::lol:

I love how delusional fanboys are unless they are trolling. Ninty hasn't stop any developer or publisher from doing whatever they want.

Didn't you know? Nintendo forced Microsoft/Sony to make Move/Kinect....What else could Microsoft /Sony do?

[QUOTE="freedomfreak"]Meh. It will still get Bayonetta 2.Timstuff

The Wii will get Bayonetta 2, but the question is, will the fanbase? :o

And I can answer that with a "most likely not." Gamers hypocritical hatred for Nintendo is showing this, even after they get complaints of lacking third party support and "mature" games. It's not like when Sony had Square's Final Fantasy when that went from NES-SNES to PlayStation and Sony actually publishing a few of those games.

the Wii was weaker than the PS3 and 360. Who won out of those 3?

The DS was weaker than the PSP. Who won between those 2?

The 3DS is weaker than the Vita. Who currently has the most sales?

Perhaps history will not repeat itself, and the WiiU won't win the newer, current gen when the PS4 and Xbox3(whatever it gets called) get released. But I think it is pretty clear that more power =/= more sales.
