Yes, The Witcher was such a great game. Buggy as hell at first and very evident it was pretty low budget. The EE version fixed so much though and it is still onr of my all time favourite games.
Can't wait for 2 and who knows, they may port both to console one day.
Thats nice and all
you cant expect to buy 2 consoles and get every game this gen, your the same people on the Wow fourms begging for D3 to come to consoles
Ultizer
So long as the quality isn't compromised, content or graphics wise for the PC version i have no problem with every game on PC to get ported to console.

has nothing to do with that
PC has a huge lack of Blockbuster exclusives this gen, if Microsoft are keeping Halo and gears off PC, why should console gamers get Stalker/Witcher/Diablo 3 etc
i mean get a job and build a better PC
i just saved up and got 2 5970's, feels good man, i wont have to upgrade for years

Same here. As long as they design the game with only the PC in mind, and then port it onto consoles, then I'm happy for consoles to get any PC exclusive. It's when I think of games like Rainbow 6 and Dues Ex that I weep :([QUOTE="Frozzik"]

Some people just will never have the cash. Like i said, blockbuster exclusives mean nothing to me as a PC gamer. I play PC for games like Total War, Dawn of Discovery etc, as well as great multiplats.
I do see your point though.

Because we're gamers, not companies. We have no reason not to share.its not up to gamers, the only company that will never touch consoles is Blizzard, all other companys move to consoles in time, some start making console ports tho, thats what we dont like
COD4/BC2/Fallout 3 are good examples of what PC gamers want from multi-plats
Ports like GTA4 and AC 1/2 are just terrible and they wonder why they get pirated to death
Unfortunately there are reasons not to share.
I wish I could be entirely happy about having all PC exclusives on consoles. It's not that I want to deny console gamers some gaming goodness. The problem is that PC gaming takes a little more effort than console gaming. If you're a PC gamer you probably at least understand most of the hardware at a basic level, if not at a very high one. And you also probably keep up with tech, at least from time to time.
MOST (not all obviously, because a lot of gamers out there that are both console and PC gamers) console gamers couldn't care less, and find the concept of a PC as a gaming platform either alien or intimidating, or both. Now PC gaming is not dying nor will it in the forseeable future, and as a platform it can stand toe to toe with any other SINGLE platform any day of the week, but most people don't think of it as a single platform that should be compared to another SINGLE platform. Most people, instead lump up all of the console market and pit the PC gaming market against that entire host. It is in those comparisons that exclusives make a very big difference.
So, I love PC gaming, and I want more and more people to come to see it as the great (and superior) gaming platform that it is, and exclusives help that a LOT. How many people decided to buy a $100 vidoe card or in some other way upgrade their rig to be part of the huge event that was StarCraft II? How many will do the same for Diablo III and the Witcher II? And how many of them will discover steam, and mods and realize how much better graphics are on the platform and become PC gamers?
So as much as in a perfect world I'd liike to say share and share a like, as a PC gamer who can't stand most console games, I have to say that I hope the exclusives remain exclusive.
I'd rather not have my PC games dumbed down thank you.blue_hazy_basicYes because the Witcher has such deep character creation/combat gameplay mechanics to begin with.

well ya, they didnt completely rework the game, but on console, especially ps3 its a mess with screen tearing and framerate issues. Until devs stop making games that dont even work properly on console, im getting all my multiplat gaming done on pc. the framerate in the console version of gta iv is terrible as well, its like max 25fps and min 15 fps.TerrorRizzingIts consistent on console by comparison, however. Playing it on my PC, its anywhere between 5FPS and 75FPS. Including hiccups (i.e. the frames just literally stop).
And its not like my PC can't handle the game, its just the game is put together rather sloppy.

its the higher standards of pc gamers, most console games dont run that well framerate wise. for example I have a friend who is a pc gamer, he had the game and said it ran completely fine for him on a 9800gt. I watched how well it played, and too me it was crap but to him it was fine. He was more worried about playing the game then if it was 30 fps + all the time.I don't mind PC exclusives finding their way into consoles. It's just a natural evolution of gaming. As consoles get more and more powerful with each generation, more formerly PC-only games will become either multiplatform or move to consoles altogether. I don't think there's any way to stop that trend. Game developers have to earn a living too. For them, it makes more sense to cover a lot of bases.
My only care is the games themselves have to be good. I don't care if they're exclusive or multiplatform. If the developers of The Witcher choose to make subsequent games multiplatform, that's their perogative.
My two year old Insperon 1420 could run run Witcher on ~Medium without too much trouble.I REALLY want to play The Witcher and it's sequel when it comes out but my PC could never play it and I'm a console gamer. PLEASE bring them to 360 and PS3!

almost every great pc game has come to console at some point... (although theres a reason we play them on pc) now that gaming is more mainstream and corporate everyone has to go multiplatform when it makes sense. Look at all those former console only games coming to pc, star wars the old repblulic is an example of a console first game gone pc exclusive because console just cant handle what the devs wanted. as tech plateaus, consoles become less and less attractive. Wireless hdmi, the fact that people are going to have a pc anyway, publishers not wanting to share with console makers anymore...I don't mind PC exclusives finding their way into consoles. It's just a natural evolution of gaming. As consoles get more and more powerful with each generation, more formerly PC-only games will become either multiplatform or move to consoles altogether. Just the other day I saw them showing off age of empires online (free to play), imagine what they will do in 5 years from now! When anybodies cheap pc can game, its game over for overpriced faulty prone consoles and their fees to publishers. I also predict gaming will become a service, not so much what it is now.
