Hermits will cry, but really, would you want to play diablo with a controller?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
From what I understood, it's not an official information but he just said that they are "working" on it - where "working" could as well mean they still test the idea. The official announcement or confirmation of the project will be after 3-4 months from now... so even if they'd decide to go for consoles, then the game itself would hit the market in next year or not earlier than Q4 of this year, I believe.
Some clearifying words fromThomasz Gop:
"I can already promise you that if we're going to do this on consoles it's not going to look like crap, definitely,"
Gop went on to reveal that "no", the console version wasn't in production - "at least not officially".
"So no, no no no, we are not in full-scale development on the console version of the Witcher 2 right now. There were tests like a proof of concept, so we at least know that it's doable, possible. But we are not fully producing the game right now. Nuh-uh."

I guess we just have to wait for E3 for any real news. I'll be playing the game on PC by then ;)
Beat me to it.
"Work won't begin on a console version of The Witcher 2 until the flagship PC release has happened, CD Projekt has explained to Eurogamer."
did anyone even click on the link? cuz i doubt you can read it even if you did lol. i'll wait til a more reliable source reports on it...til then this is not a confirmation in my book
In the Witcher 2 dev diaries they state that they will explore consoles, but PC is first and foremost. Now that the console versions are confirmed to release months later, then I'm sure the PC version won't be dumbed down in any way. that's what counts and the way it should be.[QUOTE="Vesica_Prime"]
As long as it is developed primarily for the PC, I can care less about consoles having their own version.

Personally I never understood the concept of PC exclusives. The PC is a open platform and noone will pay you for making your game PC exclusive. PC exclusives are games that simply wouldn't sell or would be to butchered on the consoles.

Witcher 1 sold quite well, and it would have never been able to launch on consoles cause it would have no chance
They make more sense than console exclusives though since console exclusives only exist because sony,MS and Nintendo pay to existPersonally I never understood the concept of PC exclusives. Personally, so long as the game plays well on the PC, I don't really care. In fact, I think it's good that a game like The Witcher 2 is getting a bigger audience.
The PC and console version will be the same, maybe the textures will be in lower resolution. Or lower draw distance. That's about it.[QUOTE="GeneralShowzer"]

CD project is a great studio, they deserve the console money. They're doing things right : make a great version for the PC, then work to make it run on consoles.
I have reat expectations for this game, I hope they deliver.
HaloinventedFPS
BF3 will be the same on consoles and PC, just like Metro 2033 on Xbox 360 and PC, the same
Metro is not the same.
a high end pc run metro like that 1920x1200, veryhigh settings.
a pc from 2006(with this gpu 8800) run metro like that 1440x900, medium-high settings
and xbox run metro like that 1280x720, low settings.
as you can see massive difference
the same gose for the bf3.
here are some facts why BFBC2 on PC is much better, the same will be for the BF3 and even better.
consoles version
-1280x720
-0xAA and 0xAF
-25-30fps
-low-medium setting
-small FOV (field of view)(because poor consoles can't handle larger FOV)
-24 players max(can't handle more player)
-controller (lol)
-No dedicated servers
-whiny kiddy voices talking "gangsta"
PC version
-1920x1200
-4xAA and 16xAF
-70-100fps
-high setting and DX11
-large FOV (field of view)
-32 players max -K/M
-dedicated servers
-No kiddy voices

After producer Tomasz Gop has stated that the game is running on both XBOX360 and PS3,CD Project cofounder Michal Kicinski has confirmed that there will be a console version 3 to 4 month after the release of the PC version. There will be more details in upcoming events like E3 and Gamescom.

The PC and console version will be the same, maybe the textures will be in lower resolution. Or lower draw distance. That's about it.From recent multiplat experience, I'd say you're completely wrong. Fallout 3, GTA IV, Metro 2033, Supreme Commander2..... Just picking at random.... None of those games had an acceptable console version, by my standards.
But you see, money isn't everything. There happen to be games like RTS and twitch shooters and D&D style RPGS that are averse to console release as they are simply not suited to it for various reasons. hence the pc exclusivity. Also a very highly graphically intensive game is impossible to release on the consoles with the same visuals. And lastly there are the 'novice' developers, and for them pc works out much cheaper and easier, though i daresay that is changing.Personally I never understood the concept of PC exclusives. The PC is a open platform and noone will pay you for making your game PC exclusive. PC exclusives are games that simply wouldn't sell or would be to butchered on the consoles.

Yes, that is exactly why Blizzard goes broke and loses money every time they make a game. Seriously?Personally I never understood the concept of PC exclusives. Wait, Blizzard is still around? Holy crap....
dang 3-4 months ? why so long ? dkdk9993-4 months to get some info about it. Late 2011, most probably.
dang 3-4 months ? why so long ? dkdk999Guess it's some optimization and preparation for bureaucracy stuff who knows. 3-4 months isn't really that long, console to pc ports usually take longer.
A good thing, I think it will be a great game, nice that console users can partake of the fun as well.:)

It says there will be info in 3-4 months, not that the game will be out in 3-4 months.
Its purely speculative by the writter of that article as well.

TREAL_Since
Was it already confirmed? At least I heard that Blizz was hiring console devs for D3.

They are hiring for a Diablo-related project. Nothing confirmed (Just like nothing really confirmed for console TW2.)

Well it's not confirmed but the actual job listing stated "Diablo 3 console" so most likely a port.[QUOTE="ChubbyGuy40"][QUOTE="Icarian"]

As a PC gamer i really see nothing wrong with that. There will be an announcement regarding details of console versions in 3-4 months. Ya I guess I should have exptected that given how long it took to port other games. I'm dissapointed though. I will have a decent pc before the time it takes to port it.

I checked on the jobs page and it's not there anymore, but I'm almost certain it was "Diablo 3 console".Posting on the Diablo III Community web page, Blizzard clarifies: "We're exploring a Diablo-related concept for consoles and are currently looking to fill a few senior console-related positions on the Diablo III team. As we've said in the past, with proper care the gameplay could suit the console platform, and we're interested in seeing what talent out there might be interested in such a project.
Not Diablo 3 directly, just being part of the team that works on Diablo.
Gah, they keep teasing me, first with 1 and now 2. I really want it on consoles , but I won't believe it til I see it.As stated, the actual reveal is that they will be talking console possibility within 3-4 months.
BTW the game just went gold!
And in the main forums, one dev just re-iterated that they have NOT announced anythign about a console version.
