iam finding this game to be much better then oblivion, this is everything oblivion should have been, the only problem so far is the loading screens.
also alchemy really makes this game stand out, they really should have made more recipes.

It's kinda funny, you can customize your character significantly more in Oblivion than in The Witcher, and yet The Witcher feels like much more of an RPG.

yup, but i was talking more about story wise.
both characters have amnesia, yet the oblivion main character is completely blend, on the witcher hes intresting and it will make you want to know more about his past.
main story is much more intresting on the witcher then on oblivion(at least it has been so far).
secondary characters, again they have much more depht.
overall Lore, witcher world is more rich and appelling to me then Oblivion ever was.
moral choices, thats where the game shines, i find myself taking 5-10minutes to take some decisions, and those choices dont seem like good/evil or right/wrong, they seem both right and both wrong at the same time oO i have no idea if iam following and evil or a good path.(at least most of the time)

I took like 5 minutes just to make the very first decision in the game, whether to defend the lab with Triss or go after that one creature. I ultimately picked the lab to see if Gerald could get some possible ass out of it. And he did. And all was well.
Pre-Ordered and all paid off... gotta wait till the 14th however (according to eb) :( damn australia... nice review however, seems pretty much how i thought it would turn out.DMWhiteDragon
I mean, EB doesn't even have it in their upcoming games section...
I disagree about the sex part though :) It's done extremely well in light non-invasive way and the lav\ck of those scenes would be extremely out of places in sword and sorcery game.
TO me the game is easily AAA, altough I am playing polish version, so no censoring, much better voice overs and absolutely incredible (best I've seen in the genre) writing :)

i choose the same path, i wonder if leo would have died if i stayed on the top floor.

what has been censored? how diferent are the sex scenes on the original version?, i think they are pretty well done already(for a game)

wow that is pretty bad. It's almost as if each quote was pieced together from other conversations. They just don't fit.i choose the same path, i wonder if leo would have died if i stayed on the top floor.

Hopefully yes. That guy was an annoying ****ing idiot. But is there anyone who didn't choose this path? "Hmmm...well bye guys, take care!" is basically how I reacted.

If i pre-order and pay off my games, the wife can't whinge about me spending money cause its already gone! :) also i can then just walk in grab it and walk out (or get someone to pick it up for me) Also because its not set to be a high seller my local store looks to be getting only enough to fill preorders and *maybe* +1 so it doesn't hurt even in that context (aparently he said there is a suprising amount of preorders for it but the manager isn't getting anymore till they are all gone).[QUOTE="InsaneBasura"][QUOTE="AdrianWerner"]I disagree about the sex part though :) It's done extremely well in light non-invasive way and the lav\ck of those scenes would be extremely out of places in sword and sorcery game.

It seems like they occasionally parsed together different pieces of dialogue for certain conversations you engage in. You notice it sometimes while playing, but it ain't a big deal. Hell, I kinda think it adds a bit of goofy charm to it. Regardless, the generally excellent voice acting more than makes up for it as far as I'm concerned. Except for Leo. God that dude was terrible. Sounded like an annoying high school kid. I'm glad I made the right "choice".

LOL yes, so true. Leo = awful.
I did almost choose the other path, just because I wanted to fight that creature, whatever the hell it's called.

yet somehow i feel that the first choice we made is going to have some influence on the game's end, iam pretty sure Leo woudnt have died, but someone else would have taken his place,
also what dificulty are you guys playng on? iam on medium and iam thinking alchemy is necessary enough for survivng, i wonder how hard is.

I'm playing on medium only because I've never really been into alchemy in RPGs, and the hard setting noted that alchemy was basically required to survive. Even though I think you could make it through with relatively minimal use, I still wasn't really trying to mess with it at that point. Though if I were to go restart the game at this point, having played through some of it, I'd actually play on hard because the alchemy system in this game is actually pretty cool. The inventory kinda sucks, though.

yup my inventory is always full, i hope it gets bigger later on

leo dies no matter what choice you make at the beginning. i played on medium and i didn't really need to use many potions/grease, only the basic health ones and seeing in the darkness. the bosses are kinda hard though. this game is really good i enjoyed it
Of course 8.5 isn't a flop, I'm quite happy with the score. Sadly, it wasn't on the first page of GS while a re-review of boring old Gears of War was
The Witcher is fantastic and I personally recommend it to anyone even remotely interested in RPGs. The combat is awesome, much better than Oblivions! But then again I'm an Oblivion hater, stopped playing that game after about 20 hours into it. I plan on actually finishing The Witcher because I actually care how it ends. The world/atmosphere has dragged me in and I'm having a blast with it!
Since this isn't technically AAA it doesn't count as a major victory in SW for Hermits, but it should. Its good...
The developer said they will probably bring it to consoles in a Gametrailers interview so I'm looking forward to it.JiveT
hmm iam not sure if this game would work well on consoles, its not a very demanding hardware wise game, if i were you id see if your pc could handle the game and get it for pc.
on the other hand the game could work on consoles if they make it right, so if you dont mind waiting a couple of years.

Its ilke the summoner, except a lot more menu controls. As is, you won't find it on consoles. As is being the operative.Definately one of the best true RPG's I have played in a long time, I thought it deserved at least a 9 in my book. The only problem I had was the loading times really. But those weren't terrible even on the highest graphics, guess it depends on your rig.DragonfireXZ95
yup, its the best thing since KOTOR, which i belive this game is on the same level as

they specificlly said this game wasnt going to consoles.
They say that if it is succesful they might consider a console port, but I doubt that it will be succesful in America

Which is too bad because it really is a freakin' awesome game. Although I could see the limited appeal due to the pretty extreme content in the European version I got. Naked girls standing around and lots of other sexual appeal. Also I couldn't see a casual person enjoy the game that much, most casual people just want action, action, action! Instead of a genuinely unique and awesome storyline.
