We dont blame you. But peter is the master of overhype and under deliver. So people are not trying to get burned thrice. Hence the reason it does not get that much hype

I always wonder about these exclusive threads.

DeathSmiles (8.0), Alan Wake (8.5), Limbo (9.0), Hydro Thunder (8.0), Monday Night Combat (8.0), Crackdown 2 (7.0), Snoopy Flying Ace (8.0), and the timed exclusive Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light (8.5).

That's what I've seen out of the 360 in the passed few months.

Trinity Universe (7.0) is what I've seen out of the PS3 in the passed few months.

I never understand how the 360 has been losing in exclusives as of recently. I could be missing some for the PS3, and I welcome you to tell me what. I don't own either system. I'm just going by what I've seen from Gamespot.

i guess they are referring to retail games. and XBLA arcade is games or psn games for that matter are not likely to hold anyone's interest for too long. and some of those games will find their way unto the psn sooner or later

Well, in retail Xbox 360 gamers would have DeathSmiles, Alan Wake, and Crackdown to choose from against Trinity Universe. Unless you go nuts over JRPGs then I imagine the 360's exclusives should look more interesting.

The downloadable titles are just bonuses in between.

you have a point. but when you stack that up against Mod nation racers and 3ddot heroes, yakuza 3. and thencounting all the other ps3 exclusives released earlier this year already, you would see why people just like to compare them

You're conveniently forgetting January through May, as much as TC is trying to conveniently forget pre-2008.

Actually, you're not forgetting May, since Alan Wake released in May - the same month as ModNation Racers and 3D Dot Game heroes. :/

that's only FOUR exclusives for the Xbox 360 in the past TWO YEARS.

and only TWO of those have achieved AAAE status.

in comparison, the PS3 has had TWELVE exclusives in that same timeframe, with five of them achieving AAAE status.

seriously people, why are you still in confusion for why people are claiming the Xbox 360 is dying?

look at what the late 2010-early 2011 lineup consists of for the Xbox 360:

- Halo: Reach (2010 AAAE likely)

- Gears of War 3 (2011 AAAE likely)

that's it.

the PS3?:

- Gran Turismo 5 (2010 AAAE likely)

- LittleBigPlanet 2 (2010 AAAE likely)

-The Last Guardian (2010 "possibly 2011" AAAE likely)

-Infamous 2 (2011 AAAE likely)

-Socom 4 (2011 AAE likely)

-Killzone 3 (2011 AAAE likely)

- Twisted Metal (2011 AAA-AAE likely)

- Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One (2011 AAE likely)

- Motorstorm Apocalypse (2011 AAAE likely)

- Resistance 3 (2011 AAAE likely)

- Yakuza 4/5 (2010-2011 AA-AAE likely)

HelloMoto56

Not many exclusives means the system is dying? So we should just give up on our 360 now? I'm sure Microsoft isn't going to just sit back and not try to grab some exclusive rights, or come out with something new. Just as it was slower with the PS3 at the beginning, in terms of exclusives, Microsoft may be falling victim to walk that line, but they still will prevail just as Sony has.

Well its true the PS3 is doing better than the 360 in exclusives...everyone in system wars knows that...so kinda a meaningless thread. Still its rather funny how you put PS3 games on the list that aren't confirmed/don't have a release date. Yakuza 4/5?, Last Guardian, Twisted Metal, Motorstorm etc. Also you left out a few 360 exclusives both upcoming as well as previous releases in the past 2 years...so while your point may still stand it makes your argument look weak leaving out 360 games.

I did forget those two PS3 games though, but I did say I welcomed anyone to prove me wrong.

You can play Fable 3 on the PS3? Since when?

a game which is on more than one platform is not exclusive...doesnt matter if its microsoft and you can play on pc and 360. thats not exclusive...1 platform is exclusive. more than one. no

Two things...this is a pure 360 vs. PS3 thread...so Fable 3 is a point for the 360 whether its an exclusive or not is irrelevant...c'mon I'd like to see someone try to deny that.

Secondly...irl...and yes Ik this is system wars...(just saying) something can be exclusive to more than one thing. Just read some dictionary entries. And to give an example of what I'm getting at let's say that said item is exclusive to Best Buy and Target. It still makes sense to use the word exclusive despite the fact that that more than one entity has rights to it...because all the other stores in this example i.e Wal-Mart, Sears, K-mart...do not have this item...therefore making said item exclusive to Best Buy and Target.

Well, you said you didn't understand why people kept saying the 360 was lacking in exclusives.

January through April is probably why.

As far as XBLA/PSN games go, they're not usually counted alongside retail titles.

In the end though the Wii is trouncing both this year anyway in exclusives, and the PC wins because it always wins.

Regardless of what Peter said in the past, or how much people care (I don't care), Fable and Fable II are both AA games which many people like. If it was a "what games are you hyped for?" type of thread, sure, leave it out if you want. But a topic like this should really have it listed. Otherwise, you could have people leaving out games for all kinds of reasons.

Oh wait, just realised that Fable III is only timed exclusive. Anyway, that could be a reason to leave it off I suppose, but not the one you gave.:P

Yah, but I think most 360 gamers consider PC/360 multiplats as good fillers. While the PS3 had GoW3, Heavy Rain, etc the 360 had ME2, Splinter Cell, Metro 2033, Tropico 3, etc. You can say they don't count, but in my eyes it tells me that both PC and 360 gamers win in the end.

I did mention that I'd still count downloadable titles as little "bonuses" in between retail games.

I agree with the last statement though. I think I prefer the Wii's lineup solely for the fact that DK and Kirby are coming out as both franchises are my favorite 2D platformer series from Nintendo.

Yes, in some ways it does (not by SW definitions but yes). Because if you were comparing solely the PS3 vs. the 360 then ME2 was (and still is till March of 2011) a point for the 360. Now if it was a PC vs. 360 vs. PS3 thread...then maybe not.

Epic Mickey's an existing franchise? Huh I wasn't aware. I didn't know Tatsunoko Vs. Capcom was a direct sequel to anything. I also didn't know Monster Hunter had ever been done on the Wii before. There also hasn't been a Kirby or Donkey Kong Country game for years.

And I guess Halo Reach, Gears of War 3, Killzone 3, Gran Turismo 5, inFamous 2, and LiuttleBigPlanet 2 aren't sequels. Thanks for letting me know :).

Lemmings now try to play it off like they haven't lost anything because it was on PC too. When it wasn't going to PS3 they were always using it as ammo for the 360's lineup saying "It's not on PS3." Now that it's going to PS3 and is completely irrelevant they can't just play it off like they never used it to show 360 supremacy.

I don't bother what cows have to say. They have to be defensive. PS3 is in last place.

If only I could play sales like I do good games.

[QUOTE="Stevo_the_gamer"]That is a wise observation. :)

oldkingallant

"it only does sequels to existing franchises".

Thanks for letting me know :).

yeah, but the difference is we don't output them every year. that's why Killzone has been ongoing for more than half a decade now and it's only on it's third installment.

[QUOTE="1stPlaceWinner"] does that mean mass effect 2 is a lost exclusive?oldkingallant

it sure was treated like one.

Does this mean Gears 1 and L4D2 still count as AAAes?

Yeah, I think that is one that Microsoft shouldn't have let get away. That was a huge 360/PC exclusive if you asked me, but then nobody did.

HelloMoto56

That's true about the PS3 for the rest of the year. GT5 and LBP2, oh, unless you mean those games don't exist since they're sequels, right?

It's not just about exclusives it's about unique exclusives, games without counterparts if you will

if you have forza you likely won't obsess over gran tourismo, if you have killzone you won't obsess over halo

Exclusives without acceptable substitutions set consoles apart, Heavy Rain and wii come to mind

most people can justify getting a wii and an xbox or a ps3, I don't see a lot of reasons to own both a 360 and a ps3

Mass Effect 2 is not an exclusive by any stretch of it's context.

the PS3 announcement, however, did end the whole "but can you play it on your PS3?" debacle.

[QUOTE="1stPlaceWinner"][QUOTE="TacticalDesire"] You can play Fable 3 on the PS3? Since when?TacticalDesire

exclusive has different meanings in different context...exclusive to something could be many things...this game is exclusive to 360 and pc....one word but different contexts....you can say fable 3 is exclusive to pc and 360 and not ps3....but as a game, it is not exclusive to one platform....i know its 360 vs ps3 thread. but if a game is on pc then it becomes 360 vs ps3 vs pc....if a game has to do with this thread and its on another platform well then the thread alters and starts including the platform aswell.....
