What "I am doing" is putting discs into a console to play it, same as my dozen+ other functioning consoles. It IS this broken, and why would I spend another 400 euro on this wrecked system?

What part is false? Google "Gears 5 deleted save", you'll get hundreds of results. Google "Halo MCC glitched achievements", you get thousands of results. No way I can fake that. This ain't a busted disc drive, this is multiple software failures.

The reality is that your situation is not common. You are making nonsensical claims that Xbox One as a console is broken and it should be illegal despite the fact the your problem is specifically your problem and not problem that gamers are experiencing across the platform. You referencing Google doesn't equate to anything meaningful as others have stated. Right now this all feels like trolling because no suggestion that was offered were you willing to consider trying. Not like your situation is real anyway. Don't believe me? Try googling fake Xbox problems, your get thousands of results.

Well that sucks. I only just recently got a XBX. Not experiencing any of that stuff, just the typical console annoyances. Super slow downloads/updates/installs. Especially those downloads, wtf. Definitely not Xbone exclusive issues tho.

Possibly newer models like the XBX don't suffer this. I have an early model. But who knows.

I have an X1X and I actually get a few of those problems, although not very often. On a rare occasion I have to manually sign in as for whatever reason it doesn't automatically sign me in, and on occasion I get the error that a certain game is taking too long to load. I am in the XBox early update program so I just put it down to being tied to that so I just reset and move on. It's never an ongoing issue so I guess I'm luckier than you. Maybe you should completely wipe the system and do a fresh start, like starting from new. Also do you ever remove the power source and let it sit for a while, not just turn the power off, but unplug it. I have a vague recollection of when I was having problems with my old XB1 that support suggested I unplug it and leave sit for short time. Can't remember if it helped or not, was so long ago. Not sure what that would even do, but worth a try, although it sounds like you might have bought a lemon.

You can get an X1X pretty cheap now I think, a few good deals going around. This is probably not the best forum for help, no sympathy here from all the tech elites 0_o

I agree. It's a piece of shit console. Thought the X would be better as far as UI, lag, whatever went. Same Microsoft tripe. Ps4 and Switch are much better consoles.

It really sounds like your console is suffering from a dodgy hard drive. Randomly complaining about insufficient cache, save files going missing and just generally odd and wildly inconsistent behaviour can be symptoms of a HDD that is on the way out.

I had a similar experience with my PC years ago. The system would just randomly lock up. Happened on windows and linux. I could be doing anything (even just moving my mouse around) then it would just seize up. Occasionally it would also take an age to shut down and eventually i would just have to force it.

Can the X1 HDD be replaced by the user?

Sorry that you are having trouble with your Xbox, the only issue that I am having with mine is that I have to do a hard reset every time I use my X1. The X1 won't start up any other way, but I am fine with it, it's still working otherwise.

You probably just got a dud Xbox One X?

PS fan, so I have bias.

However, I was at a buddy's house months ago (pre-covid era) and he has an Xbox One. Got to play around with it. I like that there's a lot of things you can do in the UI -- but it was not user-friendly/intuitive at all!

Hello friends,

So, the PS4 obviously won this gen effortlessly (console wise, stop attempting to stand up PC gamers!)

But I still got an Xbox One, purely for Halo/Gears/Forza/Fable/Rare, and to play online with friends.

And yet, even for the limited use intended, the Xbox One was the most laughably broken piece of sh!t I have ever owned. To give some context, worse than the WiiU. Yes, it's that serious.

Startup: More than twice as long as either PS4 or WiiU (Yes, I timed it)

Game Launch: Repeatedly gives error "Woops, for some reason [GAMENAME] took too long to start!" and quits to dashboard.

Sign-In: About 90% of the time, it signs me in. The other 10%, it says, "Goodbye, Locopath", and makes me manually sign in. Why? And why for so many years? Who knows.

Cache: Constantly complains that there is not enough "cache space", when I specifically keep 20GBs free on the harddrive. I do the clear cache, I do the hard reset, I do it all, nothing helps.

Support: I contact them, they delay, lie and bullshit, and claim my console can't be having these errors.

Achievements: Sometimes it won't give me achievements I HAVE unlocked, sometimes it gives me achievements I HAVEN'T unlocked. It's a roulette wheel.

Halo Collection: Broken, achievements don't unlock, deleted my save file.

Halo 5 and Gears 4: Mediocre games, but at least they saved properly and gave correct achievements.

Gears 5: Seemed cool, deleted my save file, lol.

Minecraft: Constantly wants an update, but won't update. Stuck at 0.0%. Can't be cancelled, OR completed.

Forza Series: Actually works and unlocks achievements, without deleting my save! Praise Jesus!

In summary: this console and it's first party games are so broken that I genuinely think it should be illegal. It should be as illegal as selling rotten meat or fake medicine. The WiiU was weak crap with an empty games library, but at least it turned on, signed in and let the freaking games boot up. The Xbox One can't even do that. Ugh. Hopefully they fail next gen. Thanks System Wars, for letting me rant :)

So much fail in one post. You shouldn't be proud.

wow ok. the only thing that i can complain about the xbox one was the thing is ugly as hell and looked like they thrown it together last min to rival ps4 release date.

360 looked cooler.

I think if microsoft came out with the s model at launch they would of done better this gen.

but this next gen series x is microsoft is going in the right direction.

even the xbox one x is a good running and a nice console (do i have one no but i do see a good console when i see it)

there getting better in the hardware department. I must say.

I think sony and Microsoft did good with there system next gen. which is always good for the gamers.

@locopatho:

Out of curiosity did those issues happen all at once? Or is it gradual over the course of the generation?

I have a PS4, both a Pro and OG, and they have been great pieces of tech, but once in a blue moon I'll experience a bug.

That happens with all tech

I was expecting some kind of post explaining some fundamental console flaws or something Microsoft did, and I came across a blog post. Not to mention I don't have any of the issues that the TC has.

The start-up only takes a while when I'm doing a hard reset of the console... make sure you have standby mode enabled or w/e it's called.

@lundy86_4:

But it doesn't mean that it didn't happen to him, and it also doesn't mean that he's telling the truth. When I was gaming on my x1x, games did take a while to boot up in some cases. I was having very few problems with my x1x, but they only occurred very occasionally. So some of his claims are based off of some truth to an extent.

Xbone UI is slow, that's my only complaint, oh and no decent exclusives.

Edit: Wait, it also has horrible Wifi.
