It's kind of annoying when people post about MGS not being a system seller. I've already posted about this a few times, but here we go. Concise version.

Metal Gear Solid. Scored an average of 94% on Metacritic. Sold 6.6 million copies, seventh biggest selling game for the ps1.

Metal Gear Solid 2. Scored an average of 96% on Metacritic. Sold over 7 million copies. Fifth biggest selling game for the PS2. Also released in 2001, and partly responsible for selling a ton of systems and making the PS2 the dominant system last gen.

Metal Gear Solid 3. Scored an average of 91% on metacritic. Sold about 3.6 million copies. Eighth biggest selling game for the PS2.

And while I personally have no idea if MGS 4 will be released in 2007 or not, it seems definitely possible. I did, if you note, put a qualifier in my sentence.

And just so you know, I don't own a ps2 or PS3. I just want to set things straight here.

i disagree. both mgs 4 and heavenly sword will be system sellers. i know alot of people who bought a ps2 because of mgs2 and there are alot of people here who said they will buy a ps3 because of mgs 4 so tc failed just like most others here.
