You can very easily build a mini computer.
I don't have one, but a friend of mine has two that are about the size of a shoebox. We call them "shoebox PCs" :P
Yeah, I never understood how people are able to carry their desktop PCs to LAN partys :P
But once gathered, the experience can be great.
[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"]nintendo games. that's what PCs can't do. and it's more than enough reason to get a wii.1080pOnly
If you enjoy the same games you were playing 20 years ago then maybe...
well then i guess i do. 'cause i have yet to grow tired of them. it's not like the other genres are evolving either (as much as the nintendo franchises), so i might as well stick to the series i like. @washd123 - "and without mods". you can't just throw a wii disc on any computer and see it running. you need special software. that's what i meant.@washd123 - "and without mods". you can't just throw a wii disc on any computer and see it running. you need special software. that's what i meant.BrunoBRS
ok? well what does that have to do with anything? you said pc doesnt have nintendo games or wii games. doesnt matter how its done, it does.

It doesn't. I'm sorry, no matter HOW you care to play with words, PC DOES NOT HAVE NINTENDO GAMES.[QUOTE="BrunoBRS"]@washd123 - "and without mods". you can't just throw a wii disc on any computer and see it running. you need special software. that's what i meant.washd123

i really doubt someone picks a PC over a nintendo wii when they think "where can i play skyward sword?". following your line of thought, the PC is a god and no other system should ever exist, because it only does everything (/ripping PS3 slogan) and more. but clearly it's not the case. you can't count wii games as PC games because "technically it's possible".i really doubt someone picks a PC over a nintendo wii when they think "where can i play skyward sword?". following your line of thought, the PC is a god and no other system should ever exist, because it only does everything (/ripping PS3 slogan) and more. but clearly it's not the case. you can't count wii games as PC games because "technically it's possible".BrunoBRS
and youre trying to make claims i never did.
what does someones personal thoughts have to do with whether or not wii games can be played on the pc? either it can or it cant. theres no personal input. answer it can.
that wasnt my line of thought so im not sure why you followed it but while were on this thought its true. there is no need for any other system since the pc does do everything.
i never did say wii games were pc games not sure where you got that from.
you claimed that pc couldnt do wii games. this is untrue. that was my point. not sure where you pulled everything else from.

edit: I'm editing my post due to prohibitions on this forum.
You can run Nintendo games on the PC, but not legaly.
Ok, but who the hell actually does that?Cruxis27I used to bring my consoles to my friends house if they didn't have the same console that I do. Also if I didn't have the same console they did I would sometimes ask them to bring their consoles to my house.

******* sexy.
Nintendo games aren't OFFICIALLY on the PC. You can play them only via a emulator. Emulators are not illegal but are not completely legimate either. Ask Nintendo and Sony what they think of unofficial emulators. The fact that emulators are protected to some degree by law does not make them completely legimate. In other words: you are using software that is played on hardware WITHOUT the permission of the sotware copyrights holder.

It is legal if you have the game.

Portability. Gaming laptops are too expensive and not as good as a desktop. I can bring my nintendo wii or ps3 to my friends house with ease.DemonsDogSouls
Horrible... Gaming laptops are more portable than consoles. Your PS3/360 requires a TV and power source. It is portable in terms of transportation, but once you want to play some games on it, you have stop and find a spot with power outlets and have a TV present. I can take my Asus G72 and play Crysis, Starcraft II, Bad Company 2, Metro 2033, and all my other games and play them anywhere, even on a plane, at my security post, or in class... can your consoles do that? And yea, the battery life of a laptop would be around 2-3 hours but that is much better than zero seconds. All I have to do is bring an extra battery or two and I can game all the way on a long plane flight.
So what if emulators and ROMs arent legit. So what if people want to pirate some old SNES games that they wouldnt buy to begin with.
There is only one thing imo. And thats upfront price. To get a decent rig your going to have to spend more than $300.i5750at4GhzWell you can build a PC more powerful than a console for around $400 with Windows 7, Intel E3300, Nvidia 9800GT, 2GB DDR2 800, etc.

But overall a pretty lackluster build. If you only play your games @ 720p like consoles it would be fine though.[QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"]There is only one thing imo. And thats upfront price. Games like ARMA II, Metro 2033, Shattered Horizon, Crysis, Total War, STALKER are the few that would need a resolution and maybe setting drop. And they'll still look better than a console anyways.[QUOTE="i5750at4Ghz"]There is only one thing imo. And thats upfront price. Yah I have an 8800gt and I play most of my games on high or max at 1680x1050.
I played Metro 2033 at directx 10 very high at 1440x900, or directx9 very high at 1600x1024.
Also I play Crysis at modified settings that look like very high but run much better at 1680x1050.

Hm I guess fps doesn't matter for some people.most games run easily past 30+ fps.
Metro 2033 was running 25 fps and higher.
Crysis ran around 30fps.
Other games get 40+fps.
The Lost Planet 2 benchmark gave me 44fps.
Dead Rising 2 is 34fps where around 100+ zombies are and way beyond that in less crowded areas.
Gothic 4 demo was 25+ fps.
Frame rate was perfectly fine.
The only games that need those 60fps frame rate are games like Street Fighter 4 and Devil May Cry 4.
Both of which runs well beyond that at max.
