A console FPS IS NEVER the best.

Half Life, Half Life 2, Doom, Wolfenstein 3-D, Unreal Tournament and Quake are better FPS'

Ultimaspooges

Doom? Wolfenstein? Come on now. I'm more of a PC gamer than anything, but even I'd never make that claim. Doom and Wolfenstein are so archaic and outdated, even by the standards of when Perfect Dark came out. PD is a much better FPS, it shouldn't even be an arguement.

Did you play Doom in 1993?

Doom came out before the average Halo gamer was born.

Yes I did, and FPS has evolved by leaps and bounds since then. It doesn't matter when it came out if games in the genre coming after it were better. I don't live in the past. Games get better as the years go on. Its just a fact of life.

Right, and Dark Cloud 2 > Ocarina of time right?

Half Life and Half Life 2, are still definitely, way better than any console FPS. Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are no exception.

Sure, I could probably go with that first part. Ocarina of Time is far from even being the greatest Zelda ever. Funny how that supports my point that games get better as time goes on. :| And thats fine if you think that. I love Half Life, but if someone doesn't, I won't attack them for it. Its not the kind of game everyone would like and I perfectly respect that. Opinions are what they are, there's no sense attacking people who have an opinion different than yours.

I agree that games evolve, but not always essentually for the better. The timeline or era in which a game is released in has a big impact on how you should judge it's greatness. Just because the standards change for each upcomming year that passes dosen't mean the quality of the game made is better than an older game.

Marrowind:Elder Scrolls 3 >>> Oblvion is a good example.

I'm perfectly fine with saying a game was great for its time. There is nothing wrong with that. But to directly say, regardless of era, "x older game is better than y newer game" despite all logic, that I take issue with. And hey, Morrowind is a bad example. Bethesda decided nobody liked a bunch of Morrowind's features when they did Oblivion. Thats an exception >_>

I didn't think the graphics would improve that much. I'll definitely get it. It's my favourite FPS ever.

Well that doesn't work because I could understand people liking Mass Effect more than KOTOR. I just mean in general, games get better as they go. There are always exceptions, as with any rule, but in general thats how it goes.

Well I'm only referring to people who've actually played both games (me) and can make realistic comparison between both games. The general concensus among people who've both of these games too is that the older game (KOTOR) is better.

However, I do understand the general idea of what you're saying and I "understand" that with the higher standards and increased power of the consoles the games should "theoretically" be better than older games...I'm just saying that's not always the result.

I havent really talked about it because I know that despite it being an enitrly new remake, with better graphics, and online play cows will just call it a port and claim ownage by some god forsaken reason that i have no clue about.

mitu123

:D you mean like lemmings originally did with NGS when it scored a 9.0 in 2007? Yeah that does suk, but I know exactly whatcha mean.

That was a remake of NGB with few exclusive things about it, I own NGS, don't make me post pics.:x

Whatare you talking about?

Who was talking to you and who asked you to show anything? Nobody cares about you posting pictures. :| I owned EVERY version of NG and what of it?

 a few extra things? Your doing the same thing he was assuming PS3 fanboys would do with Perfect Dark...good going.

So a Custom engine built from the gound up for next gen gfx, realtime cutscenes that were previously ALLCGI, pervious portions of CGI cutscenes turned into all out sections of realtime gameplay, new missions, new weapons, new abilities (duel wheelding katanas), and the ability to play a new character with seperate missions of her own= a few exta things to you...cool beans buddy. :D Nice to find out what an objective poster you are!!!

You must think the updates revealed for Perfect Dark suk huh?

That's it, that is only a few things, man. that's only 6 things you listed, the Perfect Dark XBLA has about that many new features as well but that doesn't make it "new" and "entirely different" now does it?

The reason I brought that up is to start an argument with you, LOL, it's all on me. I never counted either game as an exclusive anyways, thanks to the same story, genre and gameplay of the games.

[QUOTE="jg4xchamp"]ok ok Now think about this for a second. YOu're using the word EXCLUSIVE. This is a remastered version of an old game. Crazy idea came to mind. Perfect Dark might be on another system. Just think about that for a second

He didn't call the game exclusive, he called the people who exclusively own a 360, exclusive.
