Here's the question I have to ask you guys: Why don't you want more Halo games if they're properly done and explore the right directions? At this point, as far as halo goes, we know about 2 announced titles and most undeniably 2 unnannounced ones. - Halo: ODST (bungie) - Halo: Reach (bungie) - Halo Untitled (halo team-spawnpoint studios) - Halo Untitled (Gearbox) Now I don't see what the problem is. The Halo universe is huge and has multiple directions they could explore it in. In a way, if not more, it's like the Star Wars universe. There's a lot going on. They could easily explore the forerunners, any of the signifcant wars (like onyx, etc.), something more oriented from the covenant side, or whatever. What I don't understand is that if, unlike Mario, these games are done properly, why do you not want them to make them? It's not like Bungie is wrapped up in halo only now. They've been working on a new ip that they started alongside development of Halo 3. Spawnpoint Studios, who refer to themselves as halo team, is obviously not a cash in studio. Ryan Payton, producer of MGS4 is on the project. The technical engineer director from Gearbox. Id's ex- lead artist is on the team. Frankie and some other guys from Bungie work there. It's obvious that this is a high scale project Microsoft has setup. --> And if Halo Wars, halo: ODST, and what is rumored to be Halo: Reach (different type of campaign pacing, more campaign cooperative focused, etc.) is true, it doesn't look like they're just making traditional Halo anymore. Halo isn't becoming Call of Duty. It's instead becoming a franchise with several high quality games from several developers. Basically, what I'm saying by this is that these games aren't straight halo sequels. It's more like different takes on halo, while staying true to the fiction and being true canon ( or at least god I hope- ensemble did though, and halo team has many who came up with the original story of halo) * I know someone will bring this up. I'm not arguing this for system wars purposes, whatever, but to the rest of the world, Halo Wars was a quality game . It has AA on metacritic/gamerankings. So don't say "but Halo Wars shows they're just cashing in with crap games" And now Gearbox, while it's technically rumored I think the majority realize it's going to happen. Anyway, they did a fine job with Half-Life. Blue Shift and Half-life opposing force. Don't tell Valve fanboys, but those were better than the original HL1.

MGS and this is just the past 2 yearsthis does not include all the tons of other MGS games

MGS4 last year

I-Phone MGS game....I mean really even a I-Phone game

PSP mgs game this year

MGS risen next year

But only Halo does it

It really did. Look at any reviewer. Every single review says it does basically. halo's story is incredibly solid. However, it is told majorly in game, not during the cutscenes. Cutscenes serve mostly as transitional pieces or for special actions. Most people don't realize this though. For example, I doubt most people who say halo has a bad story don't know what the ark is, despite being explicitly said in game. Heck, can anything that alludes to the Bible so much really have a bad story? You know, in system wars we take gamespots reviews as the word of god so you're wrong and it's undebatable-- halo 3's review, in fact all of them, say "great story". The only part where people ride off it having a bad story is that there was cliffhanger in Halo 2, which isn't really something you can demerit a story for. it's funny how fans of Half-Life story telling applaud it for not cutting away while telling it story. The thing however is that it essentially has cutscenes, it just doesn't bring the camera out and take away control. Guilty Spark for example, in halo, will be telling you about the forerunners, etc. during the gameplay while your going with him or whatever.

I really don't know why cows are all up on this. When Halo surpasses Rachet and Clank call me. As for all the other Halo hating fanboys, why don't you just ignore the games instead of dwelling on something you can't change?

thats already happening, people are ''seeing the light'' and abandoning the 360. microsoft sees this and is trying to bring out its biggest IP (halo) to try to quell 360 fans desire for games. Obviously, it isn't working.

My bad there must have been a new one since last I looked.

Yeah The Cole Protocol. It is not the best but it is good. My only gripe is that it doesn't have Military time at the begining of each chapter so it is hard to keep track of when the events in the book are taking place.

Milkage isn't a bad thing until you start cheating people or making bad games. I don't like saying that a developer is "milking" the consumer when all they are doing is making good games that people want to play.

Then if everyone is running to the PS3 then why is the 360 still increasing the lead of the already distant 3rd place PS3?

No, it certainly isn't.

When the PS3 launched the 360 had a 6 million lead but now it has a 8 million lead. So yes it is increasing the lead of the distant 3rd place PS3.

You're joking? Halo's fiction is incredibly well thought out. The universe has so many events, 4 factions, races within those, and ahh.. I'll refer you to the link below. I swear, people can't keep up with a story if it's not told to their face directly. Keep in mind some of this is from the books and what not, but it's all interwoven. Halo has a great deal in it's fiction. Why is it that people keep on going at it that Halo has a bad story? No, it certainly isn't.

I can't remember the last time the PS3 out sold the 360 anywhere other than japan. At it's current pace it would take 30+ years for the PS3 to catch the 360.

You're joking? Halo's fiction is incredibly well thought out. The universe has so many events, 4 factions, races within those, and ahh.. I'll refer you to the link below. I swear, people can't keep up with a story if it's not told to their face directly. Keep in mind some of this is from the books and what not, but it's all interwoven. Because it is a story writtten by an author it doesn't make it good. I mean does that mean Transformers 2 is well written because a screenplay existed adn there are books? Halo 3 story was horrendous. I could name a couple great fps with good stories: half life 2, bioshock, etc. Halo series does not have a good story, and doesn't need it.

Fanboys and haters are just looking for excuses to bash the game, there have been more video game franchise that have been more milked and merchandised as much as Halo.

Like:

Mario
Final Fantasy
Zelda
Street Fighter
Guitar Hero
Sonic
Mortal Kombat
Call of Duty
Tony Hawk
Resident Evil
Pac-Man
etc.

Like someone said earlier, anything that sells will NEVER die until it sells no more. Halo isnt the only series to this... Look at MGS, Ratchet and Clank andCall of Duty! Im sure there are others as well.

Also notice that these so called "milked" series produce some of the greatest games. Just sayin'...

Well mario really has alot of game series in it that are really quality. Zelda I agree is rehashed and milked the most. But most of those franchises are dead because of the milking.

What? Everything has a screenplay. Halo's fiction was developed by Frankie and some other top Bungie guys. I dunno who the writer is. Seriously though, people just say the halo story is bad. They never use any arguements.

umm i never said that it had a bad story. i seriously didn't know it had an universe that is comparable with Star Wars. Then again, I still think Star Wars has a bigger universe

You couldnt be more wrong,you need to check your facts.Whats actually happening is the 360 has been outselling the PS3 for a very long time now,every month since last September,I believe.Here's another.The 360s year over year sales has increased every year whereas the PS3 has decreased every year.The PS3s momentum you re talking about has been slowing every year whereas the 360s has been increasing.

Here is is the first 4 months of this year comparing 08 to 09. As you can tell all 3 Sony systems are going backwards in sales. PS3 sold 170k less this year then last.This is NPD

Really thats the information you used to claim PS3 is gaining recent momentum? 6 month - 2 year old articles, where the ps3 barely outsells the 360. Okay.

outselling 360 6:1 is barely? :lol:

When you consider the market it is small.

Well mario really has alot of game series in it that are really quality. Zelda I agree is rehashed and milked the most. But most of those franchises are dead because of the milking.

You're joking? Halo's fiction is incredibly well thought out. The universe has so many events, 4 factions, races within those, and ahh.. I'll refer you to the link below. umm i never said that it had a bad story. i seriously didn't know it had an universe that is comparable with Star Wars. Then again, I still think Star Wars has a bigger universe

I'm talking about scope of the universe. There's a lot going on in every direction. Halo truly has more of a universe than it is just a story, like star wars. As far as bigger universe, what I mean is that there's mroe going on in halo's. Star Wars fiction typically investigates more sith. Halo's has much more stuff. Very detailed. You can tell they did research before coming up with the universe as well. Halo is based on, again, the Bible more or less, although it takes a huge sci-fi spin. For example, it has a Noah's Ark type thing where it shows how the forerunners essentially gathered themselves with their beings and blasted the rings, trying to wipe out the flood, which in the original language of the bible also means parasite. There's more behind this too. (and yes, that is the Ark. The Ark in halo 3 is, if you listened to guilty spark, also called installation 00 which is a place which acts as a safehaven and is also a place to fire all the rings). --- Not relating to the Bible so much, but Master chief's waking up/ resting and "wake me when you need me" is an allusion to the fable of King something. I dunno, I forgot. I read the story a while ago. -- There's also tons of stuff. The covenant are obviously an allusion to the Crusades, more so the internal collapse.

Got to get that checked, but on a serious note it's not the first series to have that much games. As long as the games are good, whos complaining? People on other platforms always will, but people who actually will play them and the games turn out good, who is really going to get mad about getting 4 good halo games? I sure as heck won't.
