When they play on the PC.
Also, gaming culture is extremely shitty. It's filled with a bunch of suburban white males who think their offensive remarks are edgy, and they are very hostile to outsiders who don't meet their requirements.
They constantly whine, bitch, moan, and complain so ****ing hard about being persecuted as gamers by the mainstream media and the government, when in actuality, no one really gives a shit. At least not as much of a shit for them to make a big stink over. Yet they have some type of persecution complex, one that probably stems from them being bullied all the time as a child, hence the escapist media format and hostility towards outsiders. This doesn't stop them from complaining about women and minorities being fragile and making a big deal out of nothing when everything is "equal." Gamers aren't even a minority, which brings me to my next point.
Gamers have creatied their own culture, one that many found foreign online until everyone on the Internet started becoming connected and getting in on the same type of humor they prided themselves on. Now certain phrases that were cornerstones of their liungo back in the day, like "pwn" and "fail," are ridiculed when used. They feel their identity is threatened and that's why they hate such social media websites like FaceBook, as they further circulate this content to the masses so they can intrude on what was once a unique characteristic of their online communities.
They hate religion and what it stands for, yet they're shitty enough on their own and create similar cult-like followings (I'm an atheist, so you don't need to explain it to me, but being an obnoxious snob about it helps no one). Grouping themselves with different factions of systems or what-have-you, they want to be further divided so they can feel like they're part of something more exclusive. After being shut out from the outside for so long, it's hard for them to remember at times that they belong to something no one else does.
Here's an excellent example of the kind of crap you can see on PC gamers' Steam. Users are allowed to vote for their favorite pictures submitted by the community. Here is what the Batman: Arkham City page looks like as a result:
