That might have been a smart comeback if it wern't the case that 85% of PS3 owners use the PSN service, as compared to the 360 which has about 60% (Or something like that). 20 million (85%) - 28 million (60%), it's not that big a diffrence.

Both are really funny, but I will take quiet over people screaming and acting tough. But that is my opinion.

LOL. Excellent. That's exactly what I was thinking. Although certainly more preferable than whining babies.

That's why I just play with friends on live. It makes the experience so much better. The sad thing about PSN is that even when Im playing with friends the experience is spotty. At least with voice.

you do know that then they said 17 million PSN accounts they were including PSP accounts as well right? which by the way was also the lion's share of the PSN accounts

Babies would be better, they don't swear and spew racist comments at about a rate of 5 per minute, but it dosn't make a diffrence as all online services are the same. Xbox live just gives the idiots the tools to spew thier idociy as part of the console package. That's why games come with the remarkably handy "mute" feature. They even have a "mute" feature built into live gamertags service.

Dude those numbers mean squat. I have 4 PSN accounts and even then the 360 has a larger userbase and a subscription online service. the comparison is seriously flawed. You aren't even sure of the numbers yourself.

He said "This describes PSN" which incorporate the PSP PSN service aswell as the PS3 service. His comment was not directly aimed at PS3. He might have gotten away with it had he said "PS3 online gaming" instead, which is still completely false, but whatever.

I agree there are terrible people on all of the online services. Just look at HOME.

And the mute button and playing with friends is the best way to avoid playing with idiots. Muting and having the ability to kick players is good too. The best remedy: Just leave the game.

How much of that percentage do you actually think is made up of duplicates? Probably alot less than you think. The only people who would actually have more than one account would the most extreme gamers who want to take advantage of the entire PSN service across all regions. That would be barely enough to break a million, and even at that there are LOADS of Xbox 360 live subscriptions that take advantage of the 1 free month thing, I'm not sure if that's stoped now, but the numbers are still there aslongas the accounts exsist. Regardless the PSN community is big, very big, which makes the statement that the service is devoid of players completely false.

It's a bit of a stretch to say you only refer to one part of a service while stating that you are refering to the whole. It would have to be clearer than that, and it would still be wrong. Just play Resistance 2 and that should be enough proof that PSN is not devoid of players. Infact its sometimes quite hard to get into a game because they fill up so quickly.

one game does not a trend make, i tried to play marvel: ultimate alliance online on my PSP the other day, there was no one there, does that mean no ever uses PSN? Besides, Xbox live is only used on the xbox 360, it's main competitor is the PS3, when PSN vs. XBL comparisons are made it always assumed that people mean the PS3 version of PSN

thats the thing only a few games on psn have a decent ammount of players and like i said before halo 3 alone has more players on at a time then psn does hence the empty room statement which is pretty accurate added on to the fact that most psn users dont have mics and you might as well be playing with bots psn community is pathetic

Socom is always full, COD WAW has usually close to 100,000 playing at any given time, Resistance 2 is packed, Battlefield BC always has a full game when I play. There are plenty of people on PS3 part of PSN. It is not as empty as people think it is.

I'm a cow? That's news to me, last time I checked I stood on two legs. I don't play silly little fanboy games, I simply go with what I like. There are certain things I like about certain consoles, but I havn't even stated my prefrences in this topic, only stating how I felt about that original joke, which I felt fell flat because having actually experienced PSN I know for a fact that it is not devoid of players. How does this define me as a cow?

In fact playing with bots is probably a more viable option then playing psn

psn users rarely use mics so its really no different and bots usually have superior skill then most psn gamers do

Multiple Accounts. And there's probably more of those on PSN than XBL due to free online play. Both pretty funny pics though :D

WasntAvailable

the percentage of people is very high.

A. A lot of people on PSN change their usernames. It's free.

B. PSN shares it's userbase between the PSP and the PS3. This has already been said.

C. Xbox live counts gold and silver accounts..Using multiple 1 month subs would still be tied one gamertag.

Thats like trying to brag about how Wii Sports is the "highest selling game ever" even though we all know its bundled with every Wii console

exactly psn is a joke both its service and its community

You just described basically any online service. all of them have stupid kids playing on them -- whether it be on PSN, Live, Steam, etc.

[QUOTE="WasntAvailable"][QUOTE="st1ka"] i believe it was impliedRdiz

It's a bit of a stretch to say you only refer to one part of a service while stating that you are refering to the whole. It would have to be clearer than that, and it would still be wrong. Just play Resistance 2 and that should be enough proof that PSN is not devoid of players. Infact its sometimes quite hard to get into a game because they fill up so quickly.

thats the thing only a few games on psn have a decent ammount of players and like i said before halo 3 alone has more players on at a time then psn does hence the empty room statement which is pretty accurate added on to the fact that most psn users dont have mics and you might as well be playing with bots psn community is pathetic

I think you're confusing fanboy logic with common sense. All the major online games for PSN have a fair share of players playing online; Socom, MGS (Not actually part of PSN but can be simplified as such.), Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, CoD:WaW etc (Games that are are over a year old will have very few players left. This is true for Xbox live aswell, it's just the way it is.). There are more than enough games with many players for it not to be considered "an empty room". And what's with the obbsesion with mics? There are two types of people who use mics on Xbox Live, people who feel it can enhance the experience, and people who feel they can bring down the whole experience for others for their own entertainment value. It balances out. It's always been a double edged sword. I don't use mics to talk to strangers becuase I don't feel comfortable with it. That is hardly what I would call "pathetic" just cautious. I would rather use a keyboard over anything, but that goes back to PC gaming, it's more to do with my own level of comfort. Behind a keyboard most people generally find it more comfortable to be more confident when speaking with others. How many people say hello to everyone in an Xbox live game? How many would say hello on a game that uses keyboards? (PC online game.) Signifcantly more. I just don't see how mics improve anything unless you want to take gaming on a more serious level, or base much of your social life around xbox live.

Bungie's releasing 3 new maps with the Halo Wars release as well. That and Bungie says that with ODST, it will bring a totally new gameplay experience with the MP in Halo 3.
