[QUOTE="hoosier7"][QUOTE="Rdiz"]Judging by this post and your other post its obvious that your a cow but face it PSN has the second worst online community next to the wii Like I said Halo 3 alone has more people online at a time then the entire PSN does angelkimne
How many people are online on Halo 3 on a week day then?

A few hundred thousand at peak times.

A few hundred thousand, i lol'd. I own both consoles and when i've played on Halo it's been 150,000 tops. At peak times cod 4 is stilll hitting 80,000 on PS3 despite the release of WaW

That might have been a smart comeback if it wern't the case that 85% of PS3 owners use the PSN service, as compared to the 360 which has about 60% (Or something like that). 20 million (85%) - 28 million (60%), it's not that big a diffrence.

WasntAvailable

Dude those numbers mean squat. I have 4 PSN accounts and even then the 360 has a larger userbase and a subscription online service. the comparison is seriously flawed. You aren't even sure of the numbers yourself.

How much of that percentage do you actually think is made up of duplicates? Probably alot less than you think. The only people who would actually have more than one account would the most extreme gamers who want to take advantage of the entire PSN service across all regions. That would be barely enough to break a million, and even at that there are LOADS of Xbox 360 live subscriptions that take advantage of the 1 free month thing, I'm not sure if that's stoped now, but the numbers are still there aslongas the accounts exsist. Regardless the PSN community is big, very big, which makes the statement that the service is devoid of players completely false.

I think the Month Trial Accounts are still active, I went to change my name and couldn't due to 3 accounts that all had similar names to what I wanted Both of their account detecting systems are flawed, but if they deleted the accounts that were unused for certain amount of time, there would be a outcry

Thats like trying to brag about how Wii Sports is the "highest selling game ever" even though we all know its bundled with every Wii console

Yeah, wait what? What relevance is that? That dosn't even make any sense. For a start I'm not braging about anything, only trying to break down the misconception that the number of people playing on PSN is miniscule. There are a signifcant enough number of players on PSN to provide for a good online service. Secondly, what you said has absolutely nothing to do with what I said, it's like me saying, "Pandas are dying in China.", and using that to prove that the PS3 has a significant number of players.

It's ridiculous how many people still play that game more than a year out..That and COD 4. Jeez.

Bungie's constant support. That and GrifBall:P

I'm not a big Halo player, but It's not hard to see how awesome Bungie is in their support of their game. Not too many people can touch them in that regard. Say what you want about Halo, but it's pretty damn obvious that Bungie is doing something right.

Halo's peak amount of users crushes any PS3 game. And that's with Live being a subscription service. There is nothing funny about that unless you are Bungie.

Current Halo 3 stats:

  • Halo 3 Players Online:122,170
  • Unique Players (Last 24 Hours):840,345
  • Matches Logged (Last 24 Hours):2,439,315
  • UNSC Campaign Kill Count:8,906,641,946

Hello everyone. A small reminder to all that Pedo Bear is not allowed on Gamespot as it qualifies as offensive content. Also, quoting a post that contains a violation spreads the violation and can get you in trouble as well. So please remember not to quote something that could get you in trouble for your own good and happiness.

[QUOTE="WasntAvailable"][QUOTE="Rdiz"]thats the thing only a few games on psn have a decent ammount of players and like i said before halo 3 alone has more players on at a time then psn does hence the empty room statement which is pretty accurate added on to the fact that most psn users dont have mics and you might as well be playing with bots psn community is pathetic Rdiz

I think you're confusing fanboy logic with common sense. All the major online games for PSN have a fair share of players playing online; Socom, MGS (Not actually part of PSN but can be simplified as such.), Little Big Planet, Resistance 2, CoD:WaW etc (Games that are are over a year old will have very few players left. This is true for Xbox live aswell, it's just the way it is.). There are more than enough games with many players for it not to be considered "an empty room". And what's with the obbsesion with mics? There are two types of people who use mics on Xbox Live, people who feel it can enhance the experience, and people who feel they can bring down the whole experience for others for their own entertainment value. It balances out. It's always been a double edged sword. I don't use mics to talk to strangers becuase I don't feel comfortable with it. That is hardly what I would call "pathetic" just cautious. I would rather use a keyboard over anything, but that goes back to PC gaming, it's more to do with my own level of comfort. Behind a keyboard most people generally find it more comfortable to be more confident when speaking with others. How many people say hello to everyone in an Xbox live game? How many would say hello on a game that uses keyboards? (PC online game.) Signifcantly more. I just don't see how mics improve anything unless you want to take gaming on a more serious level, or base much of your social life around xbox live.

sorry i stop reading when you said mgo had alot of players which is complete crap Maybe you should blame sony for making a pi$$ poor online service and maybe thats why psn is devoid of players on most of their games im probably going to ignore most of your post now since your just a rabid cow looking for any reason to bash xbl heres the thing though, the whole purposeo f this thread was to point out kids playing on xbl, thats why we have a mute button. psn also has kids playing but considering how almost no one on psn uses a mic its not really a big issue

this proves you dont have a ps3/ or a psn account for it, try playing socom, since the new patch its much more stable AND even with 32 player cap most if not everyone in almost every room has mics....... but you would agree with that even if it was true since you have NO IDEA!

It has everything to do with what you've said. People are not buying Wii Sports by choice, it simply comes with the package. Same as people creating tons of FREE accounts, and Sony counts every account as 1, then they go bragging about their numbers

Rdiz, are you attempting to use flamebait? Because I recommend you don't, it's the number one way to get yourself and others suspended. If you can't tackle a debate without immediatly resorting to flame tactics, then how can you ever expect anyone to take you seriously?

Incidently I am well aware of the mute function, and how it can be used. I have stated this in a previous post refering to the original OP. I also stated in the above post that was not a big fan of mics. That's just the way I have always been.

The entire PSN? I lol in pity at you, cod 4 and 5 rack up 200,000 peak time compared to 150,000 Halo 3 time. It beats any game on PSN but not PSN itself.

Halo's peak amount of users crushes any PS3 game. And that's with Live being a subscription service. There is nothing funny about that unless you are Bungie.

heretrix

and if halo 3 was on ps3 exclusively it would be the other way around....its not the service people are playing...people play the game and they will play the game regardless of which service it is on

Lets stick to reality here ok? Halo is an Xbox game, it always has been and it always will be. There is no "IF"

very few people here actually rely on reality, and you know that IF would be true, halo is a popular series no matter what console or pc you play it on

pft...halo 3 at peak crushes the entire psn

The entire PSN? I lol in pity at you, cod 4 and 5 rack up 200,000 peak time compared to 150,000 Halo 3 time. It beats any game on PSN but not PSN itself.

[QUOTE="Synthetic_NinJI"][QUOTE="st1ka"] you do know that then they said 17 million PSN accounts they were including PSP accounts as well right? which by the way was also the lion's share of the PSN accountshyperboy152000
Out of 17 million of those users 14 million are PSP.

lol so now we only have 3 million people on PSN (ps3) MAX?

that makes no sense at all

It would explain why their is 3 million people using home.

From what i heard last 45% of people who own a PS3 own a PSP, 30% of PSPs are not connected to the internet full stop. Most people get their updates via their PC for their PSPs.

There are about 231,000 online now on Halo 3, just popped onto my 360. And my PS3 says 110,000 on WaW. I'm not making these up. I was only 80,000 off lol.

Thats like trying to brag about how Wii Sports is the "highest selling game ever" even though we all know its bundled with every Wii console

krp008

Yeah, wait what? What relevance is that? That dosn't even make any sense. For a start I'm not braging about anything, only trying to break down the misconception that the number of people playing on PSN is miniscule. There are a signifcant enough number of players on PSN to provide for a good online service. Secondly, what you said has absolutely nothing to do with what I said, it's like me saying, "Pandas are dying in China.", and using that to prove that the PS3 has a significant number of players.

It has everything to do with what you've said. People are not buying Wii Sports by choice, it simply comes with the package. Same as people creating tons of FREE accounts, and Sony counts every account as 1, then they go bragging about their numbers

That was not made very clear at all. You weren't actually referring to my post directly, yet you chose to qoute it. So no, it is only indirectly related to what I have said. It's also still a poor example seeing as Microsoft do the same for their silver accounts as far as I'm aware, or atleast that's what I think I gathered in this very thread, or atleast how I had understood it, and if it was as clear as that last post, then it could be 50/50. Seriously though, there was nothing to suggest that's what you meant. Without looking to the qoute above, it still wouldn't have made sense.

Rdiz

its just as stable as live and some games have more players (atleast 2X) then any live gam,

no i dont mean total players, im just talking about player cap

how many game on live have more then 16 players?

how many games can you play on psn that has less then 16 players?

and yet it seems to be just as stable....plus you can donload FULL games off of psn which is not so true for LIVE

geez, for a subscription you would think people on LIVE can do EVERYTHING a free service can do

1) You can download Full Games on Live. 2)LIve is IN FACT a more "Stable" (whatever you mean by that) service. 3) Call of Duty 4 and WaW from what I remember have more than 16 players. 4)Most games on PS3 even didn't have a online feature before winter 2007 5) You have never owned a 360 or seen Live in action.

LOL. And people wonder why supplying a link is important. Even his Halo number is way off, unless there is some sort of a delay. Still it's a difference of 100000 people.
