This gen will be the Downfall of both MGS and FF and the PS3

Firstly the hype for MGS4 is not all that great. And a lot of Sony fans even have mention it seems Kijoma has gone a little over board on the crazy flying dino robots and such. I think this series has hit it's end in MGS3. And that Kijoma is clearly grasping at this point tryi ng to come up with story lines.

FF is BLAH MEH it's freaking 13 i mean come on and i'm even hearing some Sony fans saying they are a little concerned about the story and were the franchise has headed. And keep in mind not all FF have been great there has been a few FLOP FF.

And well as for PS3 well it's floptastic thus far. Can not really dispute that.

Please learn how people make good games and not how the numbers of them equal their quality.Cedmln

Dude, the enemy boss design choice has nothing to do with the story, which you know jack about right now, and I'm not sure if you've played some of the MGS's, but dog robots and tentacle women and puppet master people aren't overboard for MGS. Every MGS has had a significantly different setting from its predecessor. MGS4 is no different. Totally new setting, i'm not sure where you're getting that Kojima has run out of ideas.

How can anyone be concerned about the FF13 story? We don't know jack about that either! Which FF after VI flopped?! They were all great games in their time.

Here in SW, the hype for MGS4 is MASSIVE. That's probably not a good representation of how it is everywhere else though.

Fighting Vamp was cool. Just them story was always hard to understand. So most of the time i was just like blah blah blah It's coming back to me now i remeber i was going from pod to pod doing things can't remeber what it's been so long.

It doesn't matter if they get high ratings or not. His favourite mgs which is my favourite as well didn't get high ratings here yet it was oneof the best selling games ever made. Though I hope they don't disappoint me as ff12 and mgss but ps3 still has more games than ff and mgs to help it sell.

Well that your opinion and you can say what ever you like, but in my opinion MGS4 is going to be huge OH and I don't care what score it gets never did never will.

I think the MGS series will always be good games, however I can agree with you about the FF series. It has been degrading since FFVI. VII was ok, but its generally hyped because it was most players first rpg. Its not superior than VI in any way, shape or form. There is a huge quality difference in terms of story and music with the FF games after 7. Amano left the art work scene and Uematsu stop doing the music. IMO the art and music direction is the most important part of rpgs while graphics coming in last. Notice how some posts here says FFXIII looks great! Yeah it does, but how is the story and music? Probably no where near on par of the originals.

Another way you can tell the series is going downhill is to look how Square is just milking the FF7 series, they are coming out with new ones left and right to pull in cash because they know most players are attached to 7 because memories only. Aside from that being said imo FF8-Flop FF9=Flop FFX=Pretty decent FFXI=Not sure why they didn't just call it FFOnline FFXII=Trash and I'm guessing FFXIII will follow in the downward spiral. Though I hope not.

Square is just catering to what their fans want. I personally like sqaure as a dev and dont really have a huge problem with any of their final fantasy releases except X2, the crystal chronicals, and the online.

For one FF7 wasnt praised for being peoples first RPG(even though it got alot of people into them) its praised for being the first 3D FF game one and 2 what are you talking about the story was amazing. Also how can you say 8 and 9 were flops, 8 was a great game as for 9 I never really got a chance to play it but my friends say its awesome(you dont have to agree, but hey thats why they are opinions) 10 was amazing(one of my favourites) and so was 12(I dont see what people have against this game I thought it was just........well AMAZING :D) I think 13 is going to be a good game to, but we'll see.
