Firstly the hype for MGS4 is not all that great. And a lot of Sony fans even have mention it seems Kijoma has gone a little over board on the crazy flying dino robots and such. I think this series has hit it's end in MGS3. And that Kijoma is clearly grasping at this point tryi ng to come up with story lines.

FF is BLAH MEH it's freaking 13 i mean come on and i'm even hearing some Sony fans saying they are a little concerned about the story and were the franchise has headed. And keep in mind not all FF have been great there has been a few FLOP FF.

And well as for PS3 well it's floptastic thus far. Can not really dispute that.

I wish there were a way to put people on "ignore" on gamespot...

Did he hurt your feelings by telling the truth? Only the truth can hurt people

Those two games innvented there genres. If it wasnt for MGS you wouldnt have all the other stealth games, and with out FF rpgs would not be anything like they are today. FF made rpgs mainstream in northamerica. Kojima is not reaching for a story he is finishing his story from the 3 games before it.

To bash these 2 games, which are the best in there genres, is like bashing video games as a whole, these 2 series have had a huge impact on gaming. Your fanboy post has gone beyond insane and into you should never be allowed to play another video game

Eurobacca

Thief for the PC was out before MGS and was a hell lot better stealth game

You sound like one of those cocky fanboys that think they know everything and btw the Metal Gear series has been out since 1989.

lol, lets go post by post here...

Robot_Slough

I'm not really sure how or why you can judge the amount of hype that a certain game is getting. Furthermore, unlike Halo, MGS is not for casuals. Its a niche game, that has several components which have the ability to attract casuals, but for the most part the game is for hardcore gamers. The followers of the series talk about it on here because they've been following the storyline for a decade. These games are not separate installments with different stories, its one big story. Oddly enough, you proclaim that the end of the story was with MGS3, except for the fact that the story arc in MGS3 takes place before everything else and does not continue the story from MGS2...

You know nothing of where the storyline goes in MGS4, so please don't post that Kojima is grasping at straws.

On to FF...

Which FF game has flopped? Maybe XI because a lot of fans were disappointed that it was online only, but apparently its a pretty decent online game anyway. Looking back at the scores of FF games since the landmark FF VII...

VII - 9.5

VIII - 9.5

IX - 8.5

X - 9.3

XI - 9.0

what terrible games.

Again, you mention story problems with the FF franchise. Yeah, the story WHICH IS DIFFERENT FOR EVERY FF is getting old, they should really end it.

And then you go on to mention the PS3 and its "flop" status...after bashing two of the PS' biggest franchises for the past decade, which haven't released any installments on the PS3 yet...

[QUOTE="SolidSnake2020"]No the MGS4 is going to be awesome it is not going to the worst, it seems you never played any MGS game their a lot of weird thing in this series.Robot_Slough

No i played them all. And i like them all they are pretty good.

But by FAR MGS1 on PS1 is the best. It just felt the story was getting tired and time for a new franchise after 3.

And FF has been hit or miss always some great some good some bad.

How is the story getting tired after MGS3? You really have no response to this question, because you admit later you don't even follow the story in the MGS games. MGS3 was the origin of the story...so how is the story getting old? If you played, and followed, MGS2, you would realize that it left the player with quite a few questions...so again, please tell me how is the story getting old...

Back to FF...

Looking at the scores above, how has FF ever been "hit or miss"? You are making it sound like some FF games are good but others are just crap. Of course the fans will have some problems with each installment, because they change the story, characters, battle/equipment/abilities system every time. Of course players will have their preferences and will get upset when they get changed to something different. And yet, all of the FF games have been well received and all are quality games.

You know what it's been so long since i played it i don't even remeber. Heck i don't even rember how my favorite one ended MGS1. I never really followed the sotry that much in these i would sometimes skip through some of the long cutscenes. I like the gameplay for the most part.

Robot_Slough

This pretty much explains it all. You've never followed the story in MGS at all. You skip through all the cinematics and eventually get bored because the gameplay has remained largely intact from the first MGS and you find it boring. Please stop playing MGS, its over your head.

oh and...

FISSION MAILED.

but then again, you won't get that reference, since you skip through MGS...
