This GTA4 PS3 bundle disgusts me

Hear me out.

MS is doing deals like crazy. Some stores are giving out free 360 points, some are giving out 3 month LIVE cards, some are giving away exclusive gamer pics, not to mention the $50 million used to ensure some exclusive content. I bet they are also putting a lot of money in commercials to ensure the 360 logo is much larger then the PS3 logo.

What does Sony do? They introduce a PS3 with GTA 4 packed in...........

WINNER: Sony

My point: MS has to SCRATCH and CLAW for every GTA4 sale cause it is primarily played on a Playstation console. All sony does is pack it in with their console, whcih basically is more effective from a marketing perspective then EVERYTHING MS is doing.

I am seriously angry on how MS didn't get a bundle of their own, it's such the obvious choice. They will be even more screwed if they don't drop the NA price in the next few weeks.

This thread made me laugh :lol: I can just imagine Sony throwing a copy of GTA in the box there while M$ trying to claim sales like crazy, but not working. GTA has been a PS game (even though it was seen on PC first). Surprise it'll sell more on PS3 (worldwide standpoint, I do think it will)? No.

its ironic how you defend MS for giving free gamer pics/ limited XBl access, etc when PS3 gives that all for free.

Packaging GTAIV with PS3 is a good example of a good business marketing.

Seriously, I have two PS2s at home, and a 40GB PS3. I do not see myself playing PS2 games on the PS3, even though I'm a hardcore PS2/PS3 gamer. The 100$ I save from opting this route allows me to buy, for a bit more, a 160GB Harddrive, no problem. And it runs quietly, cooling is fine with a 65nm chip, and if I really want to play my PS2 games, I'd rather play them on a SDTV on my old PS2 which, by the way, has 100% COMPATIBILITY.

MS does the wrong things. DLC is not going to make the game sell more on the 360.

What, you didn't know before that Rockstar are total whores? They took MS' cash, they take Sony's cash (you know there are co-marketing dollars attached to this), and in the end, they'll get my cash on April 29th. Anyone on either side who talks about loyalty or respect from third parties needs to rethink their position.

Exactly. They just took different strategies.

IMO, the GTA IV DLC isn't even a direct strategy to sell more 360's. Like Pachter says, it's more about pushing XBL and digital distribution than anything else.

GTA4 will sell more on the 360 just like every other multiplat before it.

Who'd buy them new? With 120 million PS2s out there, you can find a second hand one for £30 or so easily.

DMC4 is still associated with the PlayStation brand. Same thing will happen with GTA.

GTA's home town is America, with Europe following suit. The series isn't nearly as popular in japan as it is here, and here, the 360 is king.

The PS3 version won't outsell the 360 version.

serves them right for trying to "steal" all of sony's exclusives. i mean they already have their own, but they are trying to take what the ps3 has as well. if the 360 flops, or not even flops, just gets passed by 1 copy by the ps3 version, i am going to litterally fall to the floor and start having convulsions, urinate on myself from laughing, then post pictures.

i hope they loose more than they make. not a fanboy, but still read my Thread on this issue
