I don't own a console I do have a PC and must ask, how is PC gaming cheap? (besides the obvious Steam sales) You pay 500-1200 for a good gaming PC and 50-60 dollars per game. XBOX and PS3 get $400 plus their 50-60 dollar games. The Wii ($200) and its 50-65 dollar games. Its looks like console gaming is somewhat cheaper.Wow, SO OLD. lol

Especially if you don't mind buying games months or even a year post-release. The more games you buy, the cheaper it becomes essentially, because the gap widens more and more with each game purchase.[QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]

You're right about one thing. He states in his later videos that a good pc can be bought for 300-400 bucks, though most of the time we spend around 600 to 800 for a good rig. Still, the costs are made up for with good deals on pc titles. A lot of us don't pay the full $50 for a game. We have Steam, D2D, and other services that offer games at WAY lower prices, and they hit record lows during the holiday season.
I'm going to say that if you are not hardware crazy, you can hold on to your hardware for 3 to 5 years (and then upgrade) and still save more money than a console player. While the average console player may buy 4 or 5 $60 games a year, the pc gamer can be spending $10-$40 per year and upgrading every five years.

It depends where you live. Here if I wanted to get a PS3, that'll be $600 for the midrange package, which is necessary for all the mandatory install data. Then every PS3 game is around $100 at release. PC is about $1000 initially, then afterward new release games cost around $50-$70 though Steam, often less. Just say I buy ten new release games a year (which is pretty accurate for me), a PS3 would have me $1000 down while PC would have me a little over $500 in games, making the end cost around $1600 worth of PS3 gear or around $1500 worth of PC gear. Ofcourse this isn't factoring in extra costs such as PSN+. And then of course you add in mods and hundreds of inexpensive indie games I'll get much more bang for my buck entertainment-wise. This difference builds up over the years. There's a reason why PC gaming is more popular in Asian and South-American countries, where console gaming in ridiculously expensive for what you get.
And when the next generation comes around that'll be around $800 for a new console or around $400 to upgrade my rig. After the initial entry cost PC gaming does get much cheaper, though it varies depending on country.
I would lose against this guy and my brother if they join forces...I don't mind PC gaming still...Has some fun games...

It realy depends on how you buy games, if you buy alot of games then the PC will break even with consoles preaty fast since most console games are 10$ more expensive then PC games at release (exept stuff like CoD IIRC) and most console games don't go below 30$ in their respective generation if they are popular, meanwhile PC games can get way cheaper and usualy loose value faster. Plus you have stuff like Steam deals, freeware and many times you can get free games with your hardware (I got CoH:OF with my GPU, S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: SOC with my headphones and Serious Sam 1 with my mouse). But this is ofcourse down to how you game, if you buy 2 games a year then consoles are significantly cheaper.[QUOTE="LegatoSkyheart"]

It's temptation that makes the upgrading inevitable for many PC gamers. Not necessity. This is a common issue that is far too misconstrued in System Wars. Because even though some may have to run on decent settings for a good framerate, they still receive better visuals, resolution, and performance than consoles. But the temptation of running newer games on max settings is always looming over our heads which is something that has no cap and will always continue to rise over time.[QUOTE="Calvin079"]I don't own a console I do have a PC and must ask, how is PC gaming cheap? On another note when does those steam sales actually happen?? Because so far ive been browsing steam and the games i want they either dont have or is just as expensive as a console game. For example brotherhood, origins and even thief seems to be a bit high than i anticipated.bigboss5akMany sales are very random and don't always included just Steam. Many games on other digital download websites regularly have game sales aswell, it's not just Steam. But most of the massive collection of sales are typically Winter and Summer sales on Steam. Steam can't do it too often, otherwise people would never buy games from them outside of their sales. lol

Around Christmas they have massive sales, but there's a few gems scattered about throught the year.
Dude what an awesome suit. That dude knows how to stay fitted, sipping his drink out of his white plastic cup, true style.
For example brotherhood, origins and even thief seems to be a bit high than i anticipated.bigboss5akMost of the newer games don't go on sale till a couple months after release. Most sales are random so you just have to keep a close eye on Steam. They have sales ALL the time though, seriously mid-week sales, weekend sales, midnight sales, pre-order sales, monday sales, pretty much any reason you can think of they jump on it to have a sale.

Not saying he doesn't have valid points and not saying console owners are always innocent or always nice. I just found his attitude extremely annoying.
Honestly it would be stupid for a console gamer or PC gamer to claim superiority either way.

BBC told em PC games have AA and he said that consoles also have AA and AAA games xD

I never understood how being a PC Elitist is used as an insult. How is knowing how to build a great PC at an affordable cost to have access to better controls, mods, better services, and the ability to save a lot of money if you make use of a service like Steam a bad thing? It's like if I go up to someone on the street and say, "You have a better job than me, better house, are happily married, and can do anything you want......you're stupid!"[QUOTE="sandbox3d"]

I think his attitude is perfect for dealing with the people he's making these for. Ever saw 3KillaBytes or whatever they call themselves do that PC VS console "debate"? You can only stay mature and factual for so long before you just start treating people like that as children... One can only handle a certain amount of downplaying 1920*1080 by the same people who soak up every single LoT before one starts trolling.

lol this man has the TRUTH. to be honest i would prefer to game only on PC or even on the ps3, but all my friends got the xbox, so guess what, the only system i game on is xbox.
o believe me i tried, i owned 4 ps3's (over the years) and sold them all. just because i love being able to play with my friends. i don't care how good your resolution or your frames per second. when your by yourself its just kind of.... boring. i used to be a diablo 2 FANATIC. but then my friends hopped on xbl with halo and gears, and well diablo 2 was boring and i just kept hearing all these crazy stories of playing online and talking to people.
really, it comes down to what your friends play. believe me i won't make the same mistake next gen of wasting a good thousand on re-buying and re-selling the same consoles i think i want but don't really.

Direct2Drive always has those 20% Off Deals Going Around. On my Sig I have a 15% Off Code if you want. You can get the Witcher 2 for in the thirties of dollars.
Right Now; they are also having the 30 Days of Deals Sale and my 15% Code, I believe also works on those. A different game every day for cheap.
