This is EASILY the worst decision that could be made! (COD related)

we've all known that cod5 is going back to WWII, and its being made by treyarch. which guarantees it will suck something awful

i dont know why the cod franchise is shared, but who ever decided to give cod5 to treyarch made a big big mistake.

cod4 owned, its agreed on. It took a little while, but many casuals have switched onto the game. hell, even the psycho halo players in my school have moved on to playing it. Almost everyone that plays it, loves it

the problem is this. most casuals wont have ANY idea that cod5 isnt being made by infinity ward. They're going to get all excited and go out and buy it almost as soon as it comes out. Then in about two seconds they will immediately realize that something has gone horribly wrong. They'll hate it, and then they'll be turned off from the cod series forever

they wont have any idea how their newly beloved cod could have gone so wrong. i guarantee none of them will realize its a different dev who made it.

so then IW made cod6 comes out, all pretty and awesome....but then none of the new guys who joined the series with cod4 are going to buy it....cause they'll think it sucks like cod5 will

i came to this realization after some guy asked why cod3 sucked so badly when compared to cod4. i explained that it was made by different people but he still didnt quite get it

I don't think that Infinity Ward is going to do any more Call of Duty games, period.

I think they are going to work on a new IP.

not to mention most players couldnt even join into games easily because they didnt realize they had to set themselves to a static ip and forward the correct ports

I agree with the fact that it's a very bad decision. COD can't go from bad to good like that, or it will leave people fed up with the entire series.

It did almost nothing to push the series forward in anyway and the online was worse.

it wasnt. it was the same exact as cod2 but the levels just werent quite as fun. there was nothing horrible about it and the mace was the best cod level ever and yes its on cod3. but overall cod2 and 4 blow it away

Treyarch is not a bad developer. It's just that IW is so much better. Treyarch is what EA needs however. I think everyone would be happier if Treyarch was bought out by EA and if they make the MOH series from now on. Since that's not going to happen Treyarch should make a new series of FPS which stay in WWII while IW keeps the COD series and keeps it in modern times.

I still don't understand what was so bad about CoD3? Maybe people didn't like the class-based multiplayer? I dunno. CoD2 was more intense, but 3 wasn't terrible at all.

But the real question hasn't been answered...Why isIW sharing a franchise with Treyarch? It makes no sense. Does IW get proceeds from Treyarch's projects or something? You don't see other franchises sharing with other devs. Yes, Obsidian Entertainment made KOTOR 2, not Bioware. But, this was because Bioware had decided (at the time...may not be true now) that they wouldn't make another KOTOR for a long while. If Treyarch didn't make CoD games, then IW would have a CoD game every 2 years. This seems fine to me. But Treyarch ruins each CoD game that releases imo. AvIdGaMeR444

With the other developer working on CoD 5, IW now can put more time and effort into CoD6. CoD 4 is selling like hotcakes and making a massive profit, CoD 5 will as well no matter how bad it is (but really, CoD 3 wasn't that bad guys).

This is good because IW has much more time to make a really good CoD 6, probably back in modern times or another war (WWI anybody?). They will beable to address the minor issues in CoD 4 and make a killer CoD 6. I am actually happy that they are able to take their time and refine the game agian like they could with CoD 4.

i wouldnt mind it if they went back to all major wars in one game like WW1, WW2, Korea, Nam, Desert Storm, then Now.

no it wasent the exact same. The weapons felt wayyyy different in cod 3 over 2, they had no kick to them and felt very toyish. The game modes in the game felt alot different compared to cod2, hell i dont even remember cod 3 having search and destory. Also its map designs were terrible compared to cod 2. Cod 2 honestly has some of the funnest maps ive ever played on games before, i dont recall their names but i can easily picture over 5 right now from cod2, i can picture 1 for cod3. Last but not least the graphics were crap compared to 2. Cod 3 looked like COD big red one with more detailed character models, depth of field, and a little more detail to maps.

Believe me i own and played every cod on PC and consoles(not handhelds), and cod 1, 2, and 4 are the only ones that can be called COD because they are each fun and awsome with very little flaws. COD 3, finest hour, and big red one were trash compared to 1 2 and 4.

I had fun playing COD3 online...never had any problems getting into matches either. Maybe we should...actually wait for the game to come out and judge it then??? I guess doom and gloom will get you more replies though....

not really, its a call of duty game exactly like the other 3 but with models and skins/textures for a modern setting.

Expect COD4 to be the best in the series.
