both of the heavenly sword trailers were CUT SCENES ok. cut scenes use mo-cap. tha mass effect trailer was IN GAME GRAPHICS. get me some in game graphics of hs and then we'll compare.

Those "cut scenes" weren't any more pre-planned than the "in game graphics" you are referring to. Do you think that your console just makes up how each character will talk? No. They are programmed to talk a certain way based on the dialogue thats given. Someone chooses something to say, and audio file is referenced and the video follows it. Like a Teddy Ruxpin bear.

Don't tell me this is something new and innovative. There's been years and years of animating off of audio waves. You have certain movements with certain sound timbres and lengths. All pre-programmed.

You guys don't get it do you? Mass effect has a completely new dialogue system, it's not just custcene in engine sequences. The facial animations might be better in other games like hs, but you have no controll whatsoever as to what happens in those. The developers can just move the face and all that however they like with the limited amount of dialogue that goes on in the game. In mass effect, thats simply imposible because the amound of time you spend talking will last more than heavenly sword as a whole game. Mass effect has way more dialogue then hs and you actualy participate and choose what you want to say.

If you want to compare mass effects facial animations compare it to a game that does the same like oblivion and kotor... after that you will realise why the game is so praised in that department.

last time i checked, tons of dialouge can be boring (not saying that me is a bad game, it looks great).

Yeah, Lemmings are always claiming that they don't watch movies. But now they want to play a game where you sit and watch characters talk. Hmmmmmm.

Lets not nit pick here. What Bioware has done has never been done before. Think about it, not only did they have to record all theconversations for the main character but had to do it again if you choose to be a woman. And from what I understand, if you do choose to be a woman the conversations change subtly (especialy when talking to men, who will apparently try to hit on you). So if there are a few moments when the emotions may not quit match what is coming out of the character mouth is small compared to the overall impact that this game will have not only on RGP's but any game where stories are told during the game. Some people just don't see the Forrest through the trees.

Your gif sucks. Here's an idea, learn how to use Photoshop. Then you could make the head move without seeing the second one in back.

Diffence is, unlike say FF whare there are hours of diolaog will no ability to change the outcome of a conversation, ME conversations are interactive and changes the way the game plays out and how the other characters interact with you.
