This is the reason why I buy Japanese consoles and leave American created games to PC, games like IC) Mario Galaxy and MGS4 are all great because of the effort thats put forward by these proven studios. Comment!!!

The time of jocking Japanese developers IMO is over. Western developers, IMO, are the new kings of the industry. I'm not sure where it originates from, but so many young people have the opinion of "its Japanese, therefore it must be respected". Many people have an association of "foreign is better", but that opinion is even more pervasive in the game industry.

90% of Japanese games are terrible and weird.

Pretty general statement when most of the greatest games through the history of video games are Japanese developed. You could also say that 90% of Western developed games are samely in concept and genre, have bad story lines to boot, and are terrible and try to cover up there mediocrity with unnecessary violence and swearing. I mean make a list of all the worthwhile shooters that have come out this gen....Then break it down even further by only counting the truly stellar ones, and all you'll get is Bioshock, COD4, Killzone 2 and Halo 3......Only one of which does anything slightly different or original in Bioshock.
