this is what crysis + tweaking can do.(no 56k)

note that a lot of these screenshots have had their settings manually adjusted through the editor in order to make the graphics look as life like as posslbe....many of these though, are on default configurations.

All of them say at the top-right PRE-RELEASED DEMO. I have played through the demo twice and I can honestly say that I have not seen half of those weapons or even got to fight an alien yet :?.

Are any of those 1280x1024, because one of them I would really want as a wallpaper :).

yes, when jeeps drive over it...they leave tiremarks and everything too.

With the Sandbox editor (which came with the demo)you can play around with the weapons, and stuff like that.

you have to fidle around with the game editor to fight the aliens or get the other weapons.

You not only leave footprints in the sand, but on Delta mode (at least), Koreans will actually follow them if they spot them.

That's a perfect example of what Crysis does so well, which is make the graphics and physics a direct part of the gameplay.

MGS1? reminds me of the level in the snow.. id run aroudn in circles as they would follow my footprints and id come up from ebhind them and SNAP THERE NECK!

Have you managed to realize that it is a pre release demo and final optimizations are clearly not in. Not to mention we should probably get better drivers come release day.
