How far behind the jokebox are they that they need to radically change their business model to recover from? Please, tell me more.

people people. sony gaming department is making profit. it's the other parts is failing lol. k2theswissWhich is sad. I like a lot of their other products and I still have a 7 year old 46in Bravia LCD that's In my son's room, which works fine, and has a excellent picture. I think they make great stuff, except for their car audio. That stuffs laughable!
[QUOTE="shadiezz2012"][QUOTE="APiranhaAteMyVa"] There was a thread here not too long ago that debunked this myth, using real developer/Sony announced sales. They sell pretty well.RR360DDthen why lems still live in the lala land where ps3 exclusives don't sell ???Because they don't sell as well as they should, and thats down to Sonys awful marketing. Even the most hardcore of cows must admit this much. wtf ?! since when sell 2-8m is bad ??? most of ps3 exclusives are above 2m to 8m(GT)
every game have to sell 10m to be good right ?? when an exclusive sell 2 or 5 or 8m it's not selling well in your eyes
i swear lames are the worst kind of fanboys nothing but hot air
[QUOTE="navyguy21"][QUOTE="Bigboi500"]Posters like Shadowmoses are why people hate/dislike Sony/PS3 I don't think that is the caseSo, some posters here really want Sony to just fold up and leave the game industry? I guess next you guys will want Nintendo out. Then all we would have is Microsoft and Apple, both Western-centric companies. Cut out all things Japanese in gaming huh? Gosh this forum is crawling with myopic xenophobes. :|

Then you would be wrong.
[QUOTE="EzcapeTheFate"][QUOTE="kuraimen"] Most affordable Bluray player at the time + a video game console + a media hub. Pretty good price and we had Sony's reputation to assure us that a constant stream of quality games would come our way and turns out they lived up to it! No credit card info was ever badly used unlike M$ which had many users getting charged for things they didn't buy and not even a massive hacking was needed for that just script kiddie level stuff. On top of that you pay $60 a year to rent part of games you already paid for, get bombarded by advertisement on top of that and no deal even comes in comparison to PSN+ deals. Yeah cows are not the ones getting shafted here lem lol.kuraimenFirst the blu ray is the cheapest out there. They blu ray drive failed on mine after 4 months of minimum use. Second how am I renting games for 60 bucks a year? You are one of the most misinformed persons I have every met. So? the 360 was cheaper as whole consider 60% of them broke down within the first couple of years. And I've never had a problem with my Bluray player on the PS3.
I just bought a new PS3 because my 40gb is broken. Care to comment?
[QUOTE="Wiimotefan"]Follow Nintendo? They been doin that--it ain't working.My proposal.

Not quite what I meant, but funny nonetheless.
go casual for 250 or 300 dollars. At this point Sony can only do Hail Mary's and wait.eboyishereWhat game is that in your sig? Looks amazing!
Okay Sony, pay attention to me right now. These things you must do:
1- release your console one year after the 720. The reason is so that you can release equal or greater hardware for less cost. What will that cost go towards? Towards the next points....
2- throw yourself into that Gaikai aquisition (game streaming). OnLive is pretty much a failure but I think game streaming could be a great thing with the right model. Turn the ps4 into a system that has conventional disc-based gaming but have Gaikai as a full supported service attached to it as well. The overhead costs for the consumer to have the capability would be low actually, but of course the company overhead is high. Sony already has a head start because they own all of Gaikai's assets, and so if they put their weight behind it it could turn into something great. I find it harder to rent games now that places like Blockbuster are done and I don't like the current rental services. Cloud gaming could take the place of game renting. Here's the model: charge by the hour and use a model similar to rental places with new releases being more expensive. Basically, make it so that buying games is cheaper than streaming if it's a game that you want to own because you play it all the time.
3- support 3D gaming. 3D is heavily criticized but in 3 years it will likely be easily affordable. Besides, despite all the hate today for 3D TVs, they are building a silent and growing minority of supporters. I have to admit that when I tried it I was impressed.
4-carry over Dualshock 3 controllers, PSmove, PSvita connectivity, and depending on how the wii u does, some kind of tablet perhaps.
Do these things and you will have the best machine on the market by a large margin.
As long as Sony keeps making the best systems with the best exclusives, they are winners in my book.
I don't really care about Sony themselves, nor do I care for any company. I only care about what is best for me as a gamer, and Sony caters to my tastes better than anyone else. And I didn't feel like they were trying to nickel and dime and screw me on everything like MS did (RROD, paying for online and wifi adapter etc...)
What year are you living in? RROD is non existant with the slim, online cost money cause it is superior (stable connections, no hacking) and the slim has a faster wifi than the PS3( 802.11n xbox) vs (802.11 b/g PS3).As long as Sony keeps making the best systems with the best exclusives, they are winners in my book.

That probably explains why I get all those drops on my ps3. At least in Madden anyways. As long as Sony keeps making the best systems with the best exclusives, they are winners in my book.

It doesn't matter which company makes the hardware. Me thinks you may be the xenophobe.
