It's the context of that headline that relates to my post chrome dome, you should pay attention to the topic you are posting in before trying to comment on posts like you are clueless. I never said resolution didn't matter, way to fail at drawing conclusions while desperately trying to throw xbone into the argument.

Also I don't go around screaming about xbone's resolution shortcomings when it comes to games, the ability to have truly great games on the system you are a fan of is the only thing that makes it "dominate" in my opinion. lol Wii U dominated 2014 with it's exclusives yet none of it's games are 1440 go figure.

Why didn't PC's superior resolution win it GOTY the last 8+years?

I'm playing all my multiplats on a gaming PC now. Shadow Of Mordor, Far Cry 4, etc. They look fantastic but I look over to my roommate playing them on his PS4 and they look pretty similar to me. I mean there's no question that PC versions are best but nearly all big budget games look ridiculously beautiful today so the differences don't even seem to really matter any more. I think the PC bragging is way overblown.

The thread is about resolution and you're reading WAY too much into what I bolded. You assume I know what "faction" you belong to, but in reality I don't know and I don't give a shit. It's irrelevant. This thread isn't about games, it's about domineering hardware. And you know damn well that having 1440p G-Sync monitors has NOTHING to do with winning an arbitrary award from ONE website. So why even bring games into the thread except out of desperation? OH WAIT! You said "in your opinion", so that makes it a valid point, right? What makes a system great is subjective, I see.. Wrong. Not in this thread it doesn't. You either have the best tech with the most options or you don't, simple as that.

It is a FACT that a PC can do EVERYTHING a console can do and more. And no, "playing exclusives" doesn't count against that because PC has exclusives too. And when you boil it down, it just comes down to playing video games which both can do. So that brings us full-circle. "PC...doing it all, and doing it better."- the quote in the OP. The PC has more options and it does them all better.

The "console experience" is the same as playing on a gimped/crappy PC with a controller on a TV. Why not play on a awesome computer with a controller on a very nice monitor OR TV, if you choose?

Until I actually see reviews, I'll take my Dell Ultra Sharp IPS Panel at 60hz and my Samsung PNF 8500 Plasma over it. For monitors, my Dell is Superior to most IPS panels in Color Accuracy, which is good since my goal is 3-D/Graphic Design. Also ends up being a beautiful picture when playing games. My Samsung Plasma still makes the best picture possible and with Plasma hz doesn't matter when gaming. I don't play many fast paced games so the lag time created by V-sync doesn't bother me at all. I'll take top notch picture quality instead.

I play on everything but still prefer consoles and my Sammy Plasma makes sure that the picture is fantastic. One thing I found about Plasma HDTV's, even on older games with lesser resolution, they look much better than they do on a LCD. Less Jaggies.. When I do game on PC, my Dell Ultra Sharp makes a FANTASTIC image as well so game on. I honestly don't get this 144 hz thing, as I feel gaming on at 60hz just fine.

1. Several games on PC have won GOTY. You forgot to mention your silly little rules which mean nothing to anyone, such as only counting this site and exclusives. Xbox360 didn't get any either, and the ones on Wii were all playable on PC. XB1/PS4 are at 0 as well. PS3 had a few, but having a few GOTY at one site while being 3rd place by a huge margin in actual high scoring games at that same site and MC.... means little to actual gamers.

2. I'm pretty sure you don't need a minuscule amount of exclusive GOTY's from one source to "dominate" , having the most high scoring games BY FAR at MC/GS and having the best version of nearly ALL video games does that for you. Keep fighting for 2nd place version of multiplats, and gfx.

3. While you count GOTYs via your own rules, PC is at the forefront of creating new genres (which consoles borrow from in subsequen gens) and competitive gaming.

Your console can't keep up. Stick with CoD, Madden, and MovieGames.

Yeah I'm going to bet it costs roughly 2x that of a PS4 and you'll need a minimum of 2x 970s to even come close to 1440p at 144hz. Basically the rig and monitor combined will probably run you round $2000.

I'm sorry that's not dominating anything. I love the PC as much as any PC gamer but I'm also realistic.

If PC dominates why do consoles get the best games? Why is it that Sega is able to make one of the best racing games of all time in FzeroGX on a gamecube. Shouldn't developers be utilizing the hardware to the fullest extent, if a game is made on pc? Too much of a focus on visuals. By the time a 5 year development cycle is over, pc gamer fanboys would be drooling over the next "preview".

Opinions then.

The point is that there should be more pc centric titles in the same vein as Starcraft 2, in the sense that it is generally considered to be the best in its class. If pc dominated so much, countless console titles would not be the ones having a profound effect on industry direction.

Its called diminishing returns and lowest common denominator. Even still, with these new games you can see the compromises made on the console versions. Need to wait for no more crossgenerational games and mature modern game engines to see the ongoing differences. Last generation the differences was massive.

There are G-sync IPS 1ms 144hz based monitors on the way which gives you better gaming experience then Plasma.....

Lol the CRT's of yester year are not as good as the latest Plasmas.

CRT's were dim, produced soft images, geometric distortions, moire patterns, and came in small sizes by today's standards.

As for the 1ms Gysync monitors, garbage picture quality. No thank you, and they don't come in 60+ sizes to accommodate rooms with amazing home theater sound
