[QUOTE="luigigreen"][QUOTE="subrosian"]Wow. Did you look at the list? Most of the Wii games were exculsives and most of the PS3 list was sports and multiplats. And the wii is for so called "casuals"? :|[QUOTE="luigigreen"][QUOTE="subrosian"]The games are the Wii are similar to the casual games we saw on the PS2, whereas the games we see on the 360 and eventually on the PS3. It's not about the top rated games either - it's about the games that exist on the system, period.
If you want to play Mario games and minigames, by all means, the Wii is your system, enjoy.

Sorry Luigi, it's just the way things are. I bought the whole "Nintendo can be hardcore" thing with the Gamecube - they pulled a solid with Resident Evil 4 and Eternal Darkness, and Animal Crossing was a cult-hit I was proud to be lead. Everything else? Bleck.
I saw the games on the list - the Nintendo Wii titles were sports games, multiplats (godfather), minigames, and the two "core" games (Super Paper Mario and Twilight Princess) that I was dissapointed with. Sonic and the Secret Rings feels like Sonic Adventure (sonic's levels) with shoddy controls and even more annoying (teeth grindingly) cut-scenes.
It's not a system for me, and I recognize that and don't try and promote it as such.
I'm not saying that it's the most hardcore system, I'm just saying that how can you justify the fact that most of the top 10 wii games are moslty exclusives, with multiplats that have had the game changed due to controls and new features. Mini games should count as games, and I enjoy mini games as much as the next person. There fun and exciting. I don't see what all the hate is about. I'd also like to say that the games tthat you thought were bad were your opinion. You didn't justify why the wii is for casuals, you gave your opinion on why the wii is for casuales. But judging from those lists, there is a much stronger case that the PS3 is for casuals. We can argue semantics all you like. I think the Wii has its place - it's a more appropriate console for my little sister than, say, the PS3. She wants minigames she can play with her friends, she wants simple games she can pick up and put down, and she for her "ease of control" matters more than "precision of control".
It's not the system for me, and there's no way to argue based on the games that it's the system for a competitive, hardcore gamer. It doesn't have the online infrastructure, graphics, games, sound (5.1 surround is vital for an FPS), or audience for such things - there isn't going to be a new FPS, RTS, racing game, etc... released every few months on the Wii that develops a multimillion following online.
It's a system for someone we'd call a casual, or a solid system for a fan of Nintendo franchises. I think the game library is absolutely limited for a hardcore gamer.
As far as things being "opinions" - who else's opinion would it be? I'm speaking for myself. My opinion just happens to be right
