[QUOTE="Adrian_Cloud"]That's pretty easy when the Wii is constrained by supply. I'm not sure about the DS or 360 though.
Nintendo Wii -- 274k
PlayStation 3 - 269k
PlayStation 2 - 264k
Nintendo DS -- 251k
Sony PSP ----- 230k
Xbox 360 ----- 230k
got a little ahead of myself.
The PS brand outsold the competition for the month of jan.....

Thats a good point and with Mario Kart, Brawl and Wiifit coming to america the next few months should be huge if they get the enough consoles in NA.
I don't think Mario Kart will be as much of a system seller as the other two will be.Thats a good point and with Mario Kart, Brawl and Wiifit coming to america the next few months should be huge if they get the enough consoles in NA.

Brawl and Mario Kart are mostly in the same demographic. Since Brawl releases first, I'd bet that most people who wanted Mario Kart will already have a Wii after Brawl assuming they can find one. Not to mention SMG already caused some Mario Kart fans to buy the Wii as well.
Wii Fit will more than likely pull in many people who have never touched a console before.
If you look at the sales, it would take years to pass the 360 in hardware sales, and even longer to pass the Wii. BTW, the Wii controller isn't annoying. It's easier to use than you think.

I think Ps3 could easily pass Xbox 360 by 2010.
As you know the PS3 hasnt been the best thing for the past year, PS3 had some great games 07, but it's getting better games this year. This is the year that PS3 will take lead over Wii, people are getting tired of Wii and the novelty is waring off, and people arent playing they're Wii's anymore. Why? No hardcore games, after SSBB, Wii Fit, and maybe Mario Kart were does Wii go? No where, and im not being a fan boy but thats how it seems.
PS3 has soo many great games coming out, not to mention one of them is GTA4 and people love GTA so this step up will surely put the Wii in 3rd place, also because Xbox360 is getting some great stuff. PS3 is getting MGS4, FF13, The Final fantasy fighting game, and more stuff. It has Blue ray and people want bluray now, and more people have HDtV's than SD's now in 2009 you will have to get rid of your SDTV and Wii will be useless because people want to play in full HD. A whole lot of People want a PS3 now.
No PSP, PSP has GoW:CoO, and thats getting reveiws better than any DS game. The adults want PSP because it has movies and Adult games and UMD has great support to do alot of movies. The PSP to PS3 connectivity is looking good, and uou can play music and have photo's on PS3.
Also people are starting to say that the Wii controller is starting to become a pain to play on, I can see Nintendo dropping Wii in 2009 because 3rd parties dont wanna develope for it.

PSP can't win get over it, I mean it's got a nice little collection but nothing compared to the DS.
ps3 maybe....but psp...pfft
Pokemon diamond/pearl was basically the final nail in it's coffin. At least in terms of it ever beating the DS in sales.
I can't see PSP pulling ahead of the DS.
PS3 has the games and the momentum with Blu-ray to pull ahead of the Wii, but it ain't happening soon.
Sony is getting better, if they drop PS3 to $250 the Wii is doneiGame_Champion
And of course, Nintendo can't drop the Wii's price at all to counter if sales were to drop.

That is if you assume that the numbers will stay constant through out this gens life span. The PS3 has already cought up to the 360 in many European countries and it is outselling the 360 in others and we don't even need to talk about Japan. The only market that hasn't changed much is the NA market, but if January is a sign of things to come, I would be a little worried if I was MS.

Sony can beat Nintendo easily, you want to know why?You explained why (or at least tried to), in your OP, and the reasons are absurd to the point of hilarity. So yes, please explain why. :DPlease Log In to post.
