There are many strides to be made with real time graphics, but I do agree that diminishing returns are an issue too. Also, development is too costly to make the jumps that have been made as with previous generations, so we won't see 10x graphics every console cycle again (assuming a cycle is 5 years or so). Consoles sold for a loss to achieve this and sold within reasonable price are not a great business model, when the industry is an unstable one. I think gamers don't want to have to worry about it, especially when a console hits its stride about a year or two after release.

Not played The Witcher 2?

Looks even better in-game. The fact that consoles have held back PC so much this gen means there will be a huge leap in graphics with cards 10x more powerful. Console are going to come into 1080p, anti aliasing, anistropic filtering, two DirectX versions ahead....Hmmm not much of a leap is it?

Lets not forgett the physx :)

Ew, bloom :P

The game doesn't look that great on the screen-shots but considering how impressed many are I guess it must look great in motion.

I remembering feeling the same way about metro 2033 then i played it in person  but from the forest screen shots i've seen it looks really good.
