Nothing you say will change that.
Playstation era = OVER.
There... I said it.

Ok. When the Wii sells 100+ million then what you say is true.
It will... but I don't need to wait, the Wii is beating the hell out of the PS3 right now.[QUOTE="Kahuna_1"]Present dominance >>> Past dominance[QUOTE="Spider-Jones"][QUOTE="ninjapirate2000"]what about the last 2?Spider-Jones

Which is exactly what MS or Sony would have done if they were smart enough to think of it first.[QUOTE="ninjapirate2000"]what about the last 2?Spider-JonesPresent dominance >>> Past dominanceHow can you claim PS era is over... Nintendo lost its dominance when the PS1 came out, sony dominated for 2 gens, and Ninten do got it back this gen... What makes you so sure Sony won't dominate next gen or the gen after that...

i didnt even know this generation was over.bizzy420It doesnt need to be... its a mathematical impossibility that the PS3 will repeat the PS2's dominance, much less catch the Wii.

Kind of diffrent... Just kind of.
The PS3 could come back... can it? Probly not.
The tortoise and the hare ;)MikeE21286Wishful thinking... get back to me when people stop camping out for Wii's... that will be quite some time with SSBB and WiiFit beasts coming

Yeah, I'm just putting it out there lol.....Wii is still just a behemoth
First of all, new account for what..PS3 bashing? And second of all I bet you $100 that the majority of games played on Wii are not actually Wii games but instead GC or VC games. Tell me TC, what is the longest time you have played the Wii straight? And for what game? I can name 3 games you can possibly say that for Legend of Zelda: TP, SM: Galaxy, Zack & Wiki.
Come back when the Wii has good games that people actually play through more than 2 times at most... (or MP equivalent of lets say...5 hours to make things easier for you)
LOL....the wii isnt even on sony radar...or ms's radar for that matter. the wii is full of shovelware that appeals to a little in many groups......
let me ask you TC.. what do u suppose old people do with their wii's?? Do you suppose theyl get burried with them or pass them down from generation to generation?
You're assumming that sony and nintendo will keep selling the way they have been. Did you miss the past two generations? Sony has an uncanny habit of selling consoles like crazy starting about year two. I am a lemming, and even I know that Sony is probably going to end up first, again.farrell2k
i applaude you sir...out of all the lemmings ive heard, you may friend make the most sence.:D

umm ok with sales...
by the end of this year if all announced ps3 games come out, ps3 will have easily beaten the wii
That's such nonsense. You think people play more GC and VC titles on their Wii than actual Wii games? Please. You're also ignoring the existence of "opinion" - which discredits everything in the second half of your post.First of all, new account for what..PS3 bashing? It's only been a year.=/LINKloco
A very short, and very good point, Link. Nintendo fans are quick to point out the official sales figures, but they tend to forget there are several High Profile games they're going to miss, and have already missed, like GTA IV, Mass Effect, Bioshock, The Orange Box, Devil May Cry 4, Burnout Paradise...the list is pretty long. Not to mention that Wii-only owners can kiss Resident Evil goodbye. RE5 is planned for the 360 and PS3, but not the Wii. All the Wii got was Umbrella Chronicals, which was nothing even close to a real RE game.
Yeah, I can think of something this gaming generation will be remebered for:
The generation that Nintendo sold us the Gamecube...twice.
And yes, I do own a Wii...and that's really how I feel about it. You can't release a console that's one-generation behind, and then expect developers to bend to your will. I also own a 360, and the things they're doing with both the 360 and the PS3 are light years beyond what's being done with the Wii. Those controllers do not make up for the Wii's lack of power.
lets take this nonsense to SW betsumm ok with sales...

Ok ok!!! So now it's 2-0 to Sony!! Let's see how the match ends before every sheep start marching up on Broadway screaming Nintendo Domination.
Nintendo 64 VS Playstation = Sony Win
GameCube Vs Playsation 2 = Sony Win
Wii Vs Playstation 3 = still not decided but the Nintendo has possession of the ball ....but will it score??? It's too early to say:)
PS: maybe soccer fans will understand this only :D
Wrong. This will always be known as the generation where Nintendo made their come back. It will always be known as the generation where Nintendo kicked arse.
I fail to see why any logical, non-fanboy gamer would single out Sony as being the only loser. I also fail to see why Nintendo's victory this gen has to be tied to someone "losing" as opposed to Nintendo doing something incredibly smart and tapping into a new market the others were ignoring.

Great post.I get to have a go on the Wii every month or so from a friend, and I'll admit that RE4 and MP3 are great games and a hell of alot of fun, especially with the Wiimote. But I just can help thinking that I'd rather be playing something like Bioshock,MGS4 or Mass effect, something thats really pushing the envelope as far as gaming is concerned and letting you loose in a believable world with advanced A.I,phyisics etc.
Nintendo have gimped the Wii so badly as far as processing and graphical power goes, that all Wii owners can look forward to is linear, restricted game-worlds.But looking at how the Wii is selling,I don't think Nintendo's target audience really cares to much.
My question is, will the Wii last the 6 or so years that a generation usually takes?
Dont take me wrong, I love my wii (Wow, that came out wrong  ) but I dont think itll last long enough as the 360 or PS3. I expect a "Wii 2" sometime in late 2009/ early 2010.

Good points, I agree.
How quick people forget that Sony had Sega discontinue their hardware (i.e the Sega Dreamcast). Also, Sony beat the snot out of Nintendo for two generations which last gen. had Nintendo only relying on their handheld for income. Nintendo had to sell their hardware for $100 to make crumbs. To add this console gen is not over yet. So any of the big three can win the war.
Dont worry, the OP is right...they can sell 100 trillion of Wis....still I will be playing my PS3 DMC4 or RE5 or MSG4, and you will be playing Resident Evil for Wii dummies, Mario kart 3000, Mini guitar hero, Rayman the third, pure crap games LOL Alex_DJ30No, I'll just be playing the great games - in addition to the 8 AAEs, 3 AAAEs and the GotY that the Wii earned in its first year alone. ;) Thanks, though.

I don't really have a dog in this hunt, but I really doubt that 100 millions PS2's all went to 15 year old "SUPER HARDCORE MEGA GAMERS" playing their "SUPER HARCORE MEGA GAMES"
I imagine a bigger percentage than realized of those 100 million PS2's were people buying their second or even third console. I know I had to get a second PS2 due to DRE
