^What he said. R2 beta has left me rather unimpressed. It gets the job done, but getting the job done just isn't enough for me anymore.
unimpressed? gets the job done but not enough? what do you mean? the co-op mode is awesome, plus you've got big boss battles at the end of every mission, ONLINE what can you ask more?
UM..IDK...how about some interaction and REAL teamwork for once...somthing that im sure R2 does not have..
only haveing 4 ppl in a group makes things more personal, instead of having 60 battles with whoever and no interaction between players its far from MP GOTY, in L4D at least when i revive a teamate they know who helped them, and they could say "Thanks" or somthing like that, instead of some guy who just wants to continue his kill streak. L4D is just a more "TeamWorthy" game, which is what online MP is all about.
Big bosses and insane player counts do not make a Great MP game, the interaction and Fun between players does.
Lol you can revive a player in R2 and they can thank you if they want...it's just that in the beta really few people have a mic, more will buy one when they actually buy R2 :P
Also if you want to know the players in the beta are really friendly and work as a team, when they see a man down they rush to revive him, and you know when you see a guy down you have to return the favor, that's how you say thanx :)
[QUOTE="Al3x_n90"][QUOTE="jeezers"][QUOTE="Puckhog04"]L4D (PC) >>>>>>>>>>> Resistance 2, IMO.
i cant wait to pick up L4D on my pc XD
Puckhog04
So you guys aren't talking about the 360 version at all? well i think i'll get L4D on my PC and not on my 360 after all :P
PC version is always superior in every way. KB/Mouse, Mod support, custom community maps, online, etc. L4D will be no different. Keep in mind as well that the 360 version lmits the zombies to 40 on screen whereas the PC version reaches above 60 zombies on screen.
Oh goodie, than it's PC version for me :D

Well i agree..
its just..in L4D its more Involving..like when you lose a member..you feel like your hopeless, because your one short..Or when you see your team member getting jumped by a bunch of zombies you feel as if its your duty to rescue them because if you dont, you face even bigger problems..
Im sure Resistance 2 will do great online, but having 60 player just completly ruins the personal aspect of the game
I do feel that the multiplayer and co-op have a few issues, but it's just a beta, so providing that they fix those issues, I do think that it will be in the top 3 multiplayer games this year. Just don't tell the Left4Dead enthusiasts, they can get pretty upset when you tell them something else will have the best MP.ONLYDOD
He stated the Resistance 2 would be MP GOTY. Some of us disagree and stated the Left 4 Dead or *insert game title here* would get MP GOTY. That's how debates work...nobody got "upset". It's called different opinions. :|
watched the first video and i honestly don't like the frenzy. too chaotic. it would be fun to sit down and play through for an hour or two. there is way too much with the hud, bubble shield, xp bar and all of you ally's bubble shields and bullets flying all over the place. looks disjointed and somewhat exhausting.
i still think it will get AAA though.

Please actually play the games you are commenting about.
Firstly there is an 8player co-op mode that requires team work at its outmost. Without team work, you will wipe instantly. And the great thing is you done really need everyone to have a mic, most people (with a brain) know to stay behind the tank and shoot the enemies and supply ammo/heal the team as needed. And yes, you can revive people if you want. In every single 8player co-op match I have played atleast 2people had a mic. I know it doesnt seem like much, but u only really need 1 good person with a mic. When i turn on my mic I always have everyone covered saying things like "Watch the tanks shield, he might need ammo soon." "Hey, can we get sum heals?" "Stick together please, this part is hard."All it takes is one person with a mic and a level head to make it work perfectly.
As for the 60player you need to understand some things, which you obviously dont. Firstly, YOU DONT HAVE TO PLAY WITH 60 PLAYERS. Yup, some people dont like big matches so they play 2v2, 4v4, 8v8, 16v16, and so on and so forth with the levels appropriately resized to fit any game size. So if you want a "tactical" and "personal" game, then play 4v4. As for the matches with 60 people, there is a mode named "Skirmish." It puts you in squads of 5 people so each team consists of 6 squads. Each squad gets a certain objective they must complete (Protect a Beacon, Caputre a Beacon, Eliminate a Certain Player, Go to Checkpoint, etc...) that they must complete. Now in R2, squads are paired up against each other. So squad A of team 1 will be paired with squad A of team 2. During the majority of the Skirmish match, 1A will be in direct conflict as 2A. It wont be messy like you claim, it will be nice and personal. There are a few times though that you run into an area where other squads are duking it out. U can stay and fight, or run to the next objective. And the levels are large enough, that its possible to have 3 major fights going on at the same time in different areas. So if there is a major cluster **** in skirmish mode, its because you wanted to take part in it, not because the game forced you. Note that YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THE OBJECTIVES if you dont want to. If you want to hunt people all day, go for it, objectives just give u bonus points to help u reach the final score faster.
Then there is TDM and DM which you can also play with various numbers of people. The levels are so big that you rarely ever find more than 8 people fighting in the same area but at times people do converge at one point and it becomes an all out bllody 30v30 brawl. Now, contrary to popular belief, SOME PEOPLE ACTUALLY LIKE THE MASSIVE NO HOLDS BARRED 30v30 BATTLES. So if you like those type of fights, then TDM and large DM matches are for you. Then you have your Core capture mode or wat not...havent played that mode yet so I wont comment.
So in conclusion, R2 caters to many different types of gamers not just the close-minded ones who think having more than 8 players makes multiplayer automatically shallow and boring. Some people like the carnage and confusion of massive battles, some like the smaller more concentrated battles, R2 delivers all of them. And people who like to work to gether rather than against each other are also catered for.
tl:dr
Listen im not bashing R2, imo L4D just provides a better team experience to me, im kinda tired of 60v60 battles and such, and even though you can choose to lower the count, it is one of R2 selling points, im tired of just the average online shooter, if i wanted more of that ill go play CS..
but to each his own, if you feel R2 Is better great, im not here to stop you, im just looking for a fresh new idea to play, because im tired of Devlopers trying to fill there online "E-p*nis" instead of trying to just give you a good game (Not that R2 wont be)
By no means is R2 bad online, its just not my flavor right now

Pinkyimp
u do know r2 has an 8 player online coop campaign right?
I wasn't a big fan of it...Tho I'm not a big fan of any shooters Since one plot could describe about 90 percent of themAll_that_is_Man
That can be said for every genre.

and left for dead doesn't have what r2 has which balance the two right. You can't claim that one is better than the other when they are doing both an awsome job on what they planned to do in the first place. r2 wanted to have a huge fun multiplayer and they succeded, left for dead wants to have a 4 player co-op personal experience and for what we've seen it also is successful. This is not the first time I've seen this argument in sw and to be honest I just think it's another fanboy war that want to downplay one or the other like bioshockownz just did. That's my opinion of course"
I really really enjoy the resistance beta, its very good. Especially with the flop know as socom which came out lately and was terrible.
I think LEFT4DEAD on PC will be the online game of the year, but I am very pleased with what the resistance beta has shown me so far.
can't say left 4 dead will be game of the year...but it will stand out as the best zombie game!!!ozmatic77
If Resident Evil 5 was coming out this year that would be the best zombie game
