Does Clear Skies use the same engine as the origional STALKER? If so, the game will probably be almost as demanding as Crysis.jbz7890
It uses an updated X-Ray engine.

[QUOTE="numba1234"]The first Stalker looked last gen, with an amazing art style. There is barely any difference, between the two, except maybe some better textures here and there. far cry 2, Assasin Creed, and even Killzone 2 look far superior.cobrax25
joke?
compared to...
certainly no difference at all....
and far cry 2 and Assasins creed (lol) do not look better than this....AC especially
The outside looks very very very similar to this. Especially the vegatation. And that looks like art. Getting a pic in a minute. Never mind, but S.T.A.L.K.E.R is tsill using a very outdated engine.[QUOTE="Virus214"][QUOTE="jbz7890"]Does Clear Skies use the same engine as the origional STALKER? umm, i don't think their gonna be using a 6-8 year old engine... i'm pretty sure it's been updated.
What engine was it using?
It was called "X-Ray" I believe.

considering that its more advanced than every other engine in every possible way...its requirements are certainly not very high.
I'm playing it on high 4x AA with a geforce 8800 ultra 512 mb with a quad core running at 2.4 ghz with 3 gb cpu, and it has framerate problems. It is me complaining that game looks a little better then console games is poorly running on a high end pc that is this powerful, is because of poor optimization. I'm tired of hearing this because, Crytek engine right now is worthless because of this. The reason why it is so low is because on low requirements it looks like utter garbage, worst then almost every xbox 360/ps3 game.

And dont complain about high system specs...its the best looking and the most interactive game of all time...with huge levels...of course its gonna by demanding.

I agree. You shouldn't grumble. Crysis is enormous and it's tremendous in connection with technical graphics.

You did lie. You said you had an 8800 Ultra. You have an 8800 GT. So yeah, you lied. Why exactly is it that developers can't get their games to look as good as Crysis? This still stumps me. I'm just wondering. Cerussite

[QUOTE="PS3_3DO"]No, this engine is basically an aged engine, like source. It will be played on probablky any pc/.To get 30fps using high settings you are going to need a super high end PC like for Crysis. Check.
numba1234
it easily looks better than any console game....
this is a very upgraded version of the old STALKER engine...with DX10 effects.

It doesn't. Killzone 2 looks better.. :o. I'll get alot of bashing for naming the unnamable but, Killzone 2 graphics are the cream of the crop.[QUOTE="cobrax25"][QUOTE="numba1234"][QUOTE="PS3_3DO"]No, this engine is basically an aged engine, like source.
