Multiplayer - Halo 3

I played stealth all the way through. And I typically like stealth games, but this one just didn't do it for me. Thief is one of my favorite games. And yes, I understand it is a well made game, but really, I'd rather have something I could've got into. But hey, every game isn't for everyone.

The best game (imo) is either Bioshock or Mass Effect. I'll probably have to give it to Mass Effect. Like someone else said about MGS4, with Mass Effect, I just couldn't stop playing it and yet really didn't want it to end.
Mario Kart (either the SNES or 64 version, can't remember which one is the one I loved) is high up there. I LOVED that game. I have never had more fun with multiplayer than that.
As for the whole MGS4 debate, haven't played it and don't want to. MGS2 bored me to death (not literally), so my excitement over MGS4 is nearly nonexistant.

MGS4=10> any 360 game FACT.

Jealous that I don't own a PS3... Oh wait...
Do you have any idea how annoying it is that you always post that? I think everyone here knows you're STILL a lemming. A lemming who is angry he bought a PS3 and didn't get as many games he thought he'd like on the console.
You sound just like an angry consumer with buy'ers regret.
Shouting from the rooftops and proclaiming you're not a fanboi of any one console doesn't make it so. I have a 360 and a PS3 myself and I'm more than happy to admit I'm a fanboy of the PS3 over the 360 since I can get most of the games I want for the 360 on the PC.
So really, lets be honest. Just because someone owns all the consoles doesn't cancel out that they may be a fanboi of one in particular.
I should note I don't have a Wii. Wouldn't pay 20 bucks for one.

How can one post something so long yet say nothing?
I had the opposite reaction. Towards the end of the game when the cutscenes began to get horribly boring (I mean honestly, no game should have 20 or 30 minute cutscenes) it was hard for me to not turn off the console. It's far from the greatest game of all time for me, it's not even in the top ten of this generation alone.
To go by recent PS3 releases only, I'm having a much, much better time with Resistance 2 than I did with MGS4. R2 is truly an awesome game.
I love my PS3, I just don't "get" the whole MGS4. Completely overrated to me, half of the time I didn't even feel like I was playing a game. I felt like I was watching a way over-the-top CGI movie.
Mass Effect
The most mature game ever made. Absolutely love the added film grain and motion blur effects that made the game feel like a motion picture. I cannot play any other game nowadays without secretely hoping for a film grain/motion blur effect. Also loved the movie quality dialogue of the game.
MGS4 is one of the worst games i've played. to me it signals a step back from gaming / good gameplay and a step towards pretentious storytelling through cutscenes.
i don't understand why this is such a love it or hate it game honestly, but the very thought of having to play it again gets me angry. i think MGS1 excelled in every single facet - apart from visuals. but what good are pretty graphics when you can't bring yourself to play the game or take it seriously.
i'm not sure what i'd rate as the best game i've played. the original Syndicate game by Peter Molyneux has to be up there.. along with Neuromancer. it's definitely not something that's come out this gen though. i'm not a big fan of the 'hollywoodization' of gaming that is happening now. our pop culture seems to be shifting quickly to less challenging material that cares more about shock and awe then eloquent storytelling. there are a few games that counter this, but mgs4 certainly isn't one of them in my book.
Hmm, now what, guys?

JRPG's suck nowadays (IMO).

MGS4 was probably the lowest point of gaming for me. It just wasn't fun and the story didn't hook me. Very boring.
Playing: Wii Music

Oh get a sense of humour, the Playing: Wii Music thing made me lol irl!
People may flame, but Cave Story might be the single best game I have ever played. MGS4 was good but I thought it needed more game to it.

Stop. You're trying too hard.
Anyway my top 3 are MGS4, Mario 64, Max Payne 1 & 2(tied).
I have thought about this a lot since it's release. I have been extremely happy with some many game releases, but no game has ever done what this game did for me.
Upon beating this game you find yourself with a vast memory of moments and set pieces that dwarf things found in other games. There are so many memorable shootouts, combat situations, cutscenes, easter eggs, boss fights and emotional powerhouses.
On a more technical note, the game looks absolutely incredible. It has one of the best soundtracks - ever. And has some of the crispest and clearest weapon sounds around.
This game is a masterpiece, and the best game I have ever played in all my years of gaming.

wow u exactly said everything i was going to..
i agree..past mgs were good, but kojima made mgs4 epic (last fight) (the metal gear fight was AWSOME)..all the raiden sceans..and every part of the ending was like WHOA..then you think its over..but its not..and then everythings sumed up for the past 20 years...it was great.
