I am dissapoint.

$399.  No clutch pedal.  No shifter.  No buy?  If this is all they are offering for a new wheel they better make Fanatec wheels compatible or I will be saying goodbye to my favorite franchise for good :(.

http://www.amazon.com/Thrustmaster-Racing-Ferrari-Edition-xbox-one/dp/B00ENFVS5Y/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1377023235&sr=8-4&keywords=xbox+one+thrustmaster

EDIT: some new info has come out about this wheel since the last post in this thread.  First off here's an actual photo of the wheel:

999867_577298122330695_1866835189_n.jpg

Secondly it is based on the design of the Thrustmaster T500, so it should be a very nice wheel (this explains the price tag).  Still no word on whether there will be a clutch pedal and/or an H-shifter available but the rumor mill if saying the existing accesories for the T500 will work.  If this turns out to be true then Forza players will have access to one of the best setups on the market if they are willing to drop the cash.

lol, I guess no one else cares. I thought there be at least one post by now saying something like "Current racing wheels confirmed to work on PS4, thank you Lord Kaz" or some shit.

for a F1 game that would be fine, but for Forza there are way more cars with H-shifters and clutch pedals than supercars and open wheelers that only have paddle shifters and auto clutches. Not having these features on the wheel is a huge downgrade. Like going from a Logitech G27 to GT Pro. Especially saddening when Thrustmaster also makes the T500 (one of the best wheel/pedal sets around).

Nope, it is wireless. There may still be a chance for Fanatec compatibility though since the have USB cables (to use on PC/PS3)

Microsoft backed out of the wheel manufacturing last gen. Good thing too as their official wireless wheel was a total piece of shit. It was made of cheap plastic parts that seemed designed to fail. They lasted about 6 months on average before breaking (I should know, I went through 5 of them before there was a better option available). This year Thrustmaster is the official wheel partner.

So for $400 it can't do what a Driving Force GT that was made for GT4 can do? Sounds legit for Microsoft. Get your milk money ready

Indeed TC it is true that the Logitech G27 with it's H-pattern shifter, and clutch pedal - this is just one example of a superior wheel. Also, on such a superior wheel - I could choose to change gears clutchlessly using the paddles.

The Ferrari insignia is probably one of the most expensive parts, and for a computer gaming device I'll take a Logitech insignia with a better feature set.

If Microsoft/Turn10 announced full Logitech G27 support for Forza 5 - that would be fantastic.

$400 American dollars for that wheel? Tell 'em he's dreamin'.

Dumb stuff is dumb. My current wheel will work just fine on future PC racing games. Hopefully, it's supported in some PS4 games too.

Confirmed already (by Driveclub at least) that any wheel working on the PS3 will work on the PS4. Microsoft has up until 2 days before launch to either offer me a better wheel (something at least on par with my Fanatec/Clubsports) or announce support for existing wheels via USB. If they don't I'm going to have to take my racing business elsewhere. Everyone has their tipping point, and this is mine. No way I'm paying $400 for a wheel missing two key features.

Ah okay, I got the MS wheel for £60 (normally £150) and it was from their last set of units produced (with a Forza 3 box). Do you know about the reliability on those?

One of these: If that's what you have they last about 6 months (10 hours per week or so of use) from my experience.

Thanks, I enjoy it so it was money well spent for me. Plus I built it up over time. That video is a few years old and there have been some pretty significant changes since then even. I plan on keeping that rig as is and starting fresh for FM5 (better seat, new wheel, single large display) which is why I'm so interested in the wheel options. Speaking of wheel options, Mad Catz has thrown their hat into the ring: This actually looks pretty decent especially for a Mad Catz wheel. Usually they are 2nd or 3rd tier. Still...no clutch pedal or shifter. No word on price yet either. Still holding out hope that another better option is available, or that one of these two is modular and the features I need are available as extras.

If this is all they are offering for a new wheel they better make Fanatec wheels compatible or I will be saying goodbye to my favorite franchise for good :(.

Yes. I really want some news on Fanatec compatibility - hell the CSR wheel is Forza and Xbox branded.

I came so close to getting one of the Elite's myself. I had in it the cart ready to check out more than once before I changed my mind. If Thomas had more wheel rims to choose from and not taken so long on the clusport shifter I would have done it already.

New info about this wheel is trickling out. I've added an edit to the first post. Seems like there is some hope for this wheel after all. The design is based on the T500 wheel, which is arguably the best wheel available on consoles and is comparable with high end PC wheels which cost much more (thousands of dollars, not hundreds). Also rumors are flying around that the wheel will also support the same accessories as the T500 (such as the stellar TH8RS shifter) and will have removable rims (like the F1 and Ferrari 458 Challenge rims that are available for PS3/PC). Whispers of a high end load cell pedal setup being available soon as well. There's already an official mod for the T500 pedals for a load cell, so it isn't out of the question. One thing is certain though, this wheel isn't the cheap piece of shit it appeared to be at first glance. I've pre-ordered mine (along with an Obutto oZone cockpit). I'm not ready to break down my Fanatec rig just yet though, so somehow I will have to find the space for two setups.

I guess it all depends on what you enjoy. My entire setup is still cheaper than a single weekend at the track. Not to mention a whole lot safer (which makes my wife happy).

As someone who has been watching this entire ordeal since the start of the year (my wheel died last year in june (fanatec 911 turbo S)), waited for the AU webshop which didnt go live until february 2013. By then I had a feeling these consoles were coming so waited. I am yet to replace it, my clubsport pedals still work fine will be leaving forza behind unfortunately and sticking with PC. Any pedal setup that will be on the XB1 will be a downgrade from the clubsports. Fanatec at this stage, is unlikely to work at all on the XB1. As for my Forza time. I think its up. Ive owned them all up to this point, and unfortunately T10 can have the greatest tyre model known to man, but it doesnt mean anything when tyre wear is almost non existant, you cant flatspot tyres from lockups, you cant break the steering column, or the wheels. Brake fade never happens. The tuning is so lacking compared to the PC sims, and the upgrade paths render you to a handful of cars.

True, but I was more talking about people settling for console "sims". If they really want to put money into these things, they'll get iRacing and a full seat-wheel setup.

I was happy when I saw the thread. Then I came in and saw the insane price.

No one is going to buy that sh!t. Hopefully my XBox 360 steering wheel will be B/C with XBox One. I have no plans to spend another $100+ for a gaming wheel.

It's more about the dream than realism. There are no other games that come close to the licenses GT & Forza have. Porsches, Ferraris, Lambos, Mercedes. Spa, Monza, Silverstone, Tsukuba, Suzuka, road America, Laguna Seca etc. Once PC games have all of that they'll get the car crowd

Well I can't speak for everyone, but for me it comes down to fun. iRacing just seems like work to me with the rigid schedule and strict rules & regulations (once you get past Rookie). Other games like R-Factor and GTR come closer to what suits me, but for every thing they do well that Forza doesn't. Forza does something just as good that they don't. Plus I have done a lot of league racing and have a ton of friends on Xbox live. I've never felt like I was settling by playing on a console. If you can't tell bu my reply so far, I do play PC sims (as well as PS3) but Forza gives me the most fun and satisfaction. Physics wise they aren't too far apart. It is true that Forza lacks in some areas compared to the sims (as darksusperia pointed out) but these areas are the frustrating areas of motorsports IMO. I'm not trying to take anything away from the PC sims, but don't knock the console sims either. They are a ton of fun, especially with a good setup (and to truly be fast they take skill). Also all Forza Motorsport games that have been released so far have had Porsche, if not on disc then through DLC (Horizon didn't but that's a different thing altogether...not a Forza Motorsport game). FM5 will not at release, but it is too soon to say they won't be in at all.

Forza 4 also requires 3 copies of the game. I really should make some current videos. Since that one I've switched to a wireless set of Tritton Warheads, added a Buttkicker, swapped out my VGA cables for HDMI to DVI, added a PS3, etc. I also have a gaming laptop there now. I'm not running the triple screens on it but it is playing pretty much any PC sim I throw at it. I also have a big 42" HDTV I use for everything but Forza Motorsport. The plan is to use the 42" screen for my XB1 in Nov, but I may end up getting something a little smaller and mounting it on my new rig. 42" is kind of overkill when you are sitting right up against it. Thinking about 36".

lol, i can't even imagine buying a racing wheel for a console.

unless you get an entire card table and a folding chair to set it up on it is a waste of time.

that wheel will be used 4 or 5 times then spend the next 10 years gathering dust in the bottom of a closet just like 99% of all console steering wheels that have ever sold do.

Driving stick in day-to-day commuting isn't necessary. I understand the need for it in performance driving and especially in truck driving, but it really isn't necessary in a daily driver. Kind of gets tedious in stop-and-go traffic.

lol, i can't even imagine buying a racing wheel for a console.

unless you get an entire card table and a folding chair to set it up on it is a waste of time.

that wheel will be used 4 or 5 times then spend the next 10 years gathering dust in the bottom of a closet just like 99% of all console steering wheels that have ever sold do.

Dude if I had a setup like HadOne2Many I wouldn't care much about other games. Car simulators are incredibly deep n fun wether its time attack or online competition. Look this is what you're actually saying: Lol I can't even imagine building your own PC. After playing BF3 for 10 min I got a blue screen and can pay 2K all over again lol

Most humans cannot operate a Manual transmission(especially in USA). Its freaking sad. If you are a MAN you MUST know how to drive stick. If not you are simply a eunich.

Driving stick in day-to-day commuting isn't necessary. I understand the need for it in performance driving and especially in truck driving, but it really isn't necessary in a daily driver. Kind of gets tedious in stop-and-go traffic.

I guess if you are in bumper to bumper every day up- hills and what not. I drive an 08 civic si coupe(6 speed), its not really a big deal. There is nothing like the feeling of rowing through the gears. Whenever I had to drive an automatic (work truck, or family car) I find myself looking for the clutch pedal :)

2000$ ? holy shit. I've got like 1500-1600 into my pc w i5 3570k/H100 cooler/400r case/16gb skill 1866 ram/Asus p8z77-v-lk mb/wd black 1tb hdd/ evga gtx 780. WTF dude? Real men "build" ( assemble) their own pc, change their own motor oil, and drive manual transmissions. Blue Screen? Ive never had a bsd even with my cpu overclocked to 4.2ghz. Driver crash on gpu yes- but thats from testing overclocks and benchmarking.
