This article demonstratesthe huge disconnect between what the gaming community and the casual / non-gamer community. The article itself is actually bashing the 360 Elite but it talks about all the problems with the 360.

His point basically is, since the games between the two consoles are "equal", why buy an elite 360 at a lower price instead of a ps3 at a higher price, but that comes with Blu-Ray? Since the games are far from equal, however, he's already failed before even starting.

Any non-gaming publication's article on gaming is usually based around how awesome and amazing Wii Sports is, when it's a derogative and repetative sports title that's shallower than a shot of whiskey.

You have to remember, based on that article, and where it's coming from, not everyone who reads that are gamers such as we are. I concider people here in SW to be more of the mainstream gamers where we've followed gaming and lived it these past years. Casuals are far from what we are. They can look between the 360 and Wii and see that the Wii is much more fun. Why? Because it's Nintendo. The name itself screams casual and it's doing a very awesome job.

Well every game I play is fun. Why else would I play them. If you mean holding the controller on my head while me and Wario do squats. No we don't get to have that kind of "fun", but then agian I am not 6 years old.

you guys are missing the point, its about perception, The Wii looks fun, the PS3 looks hi-tech and all-in-oney, and the 360 is kinda stuck in the middle,it's not quite a PS3, technically, and not as "fun" as a Wii. the problem is, and always will be the hardcore vs the casual gamer. a hardcore gamer, while probably being a better judge of games and quality will USUALLY always be the minority. where as the casual with always be plentiful. the casual, typical, frat guy or party gal wont really want to sit down and dive into a game like oblivion because of the depth and learning curve, where as my dead grandma canfigure out wii bowling. i think the times doesnt really know the hardcore, or even knowledgable gamer. it sees the group of drunk kids having a blast with wii. hey. dont get me wrong i like my wii, but the novilty wears thin while the 360 continues to put out kick ass games. winnerjay

Funny how you consider the Wii casual, and the 360 hardcore and I find the 360 casual, and ahome-built PC, hardcore.

Meh it is all about PC gaming anyways. Still, this guy doesn't know what he is talking about. The 360 has the highest "attach" rate of all the consoles, which basically disproves this articles "opinion".

Good point and quite true. I think virtually everyone considers the 360 as a complete hardcore gaming system (which is what it is). The problem is that means nothing good tothe average 15 year old girl.

My Xbox 360 gets WAY more use than my Wii does.

Usually I just beat my Wii games and then move on back to my 360 games. Xbox Live really is brilliant.

Never heard of the website and it's in the U.K. They are obviously fanboys who don't know what they are talking about. If the 360 didn't have any fun software why is it selling more software then the Wii and PS3. At one point the XBox 360 sold more software then the Wii and PS3 combined. The system had the highest hardware to software ratio for the 1st year of it's existance (I believe it was like 4 to 1). :lol:

Which would explain why my most played games used to be Blue Dragon, Dead or Alive 4 andMadden 08 (but this POS system always freezes on me now)

Its hardware limitations and lack of dynamic advancement cause games to have smaller levels, longer load times, lesser graphics, and streamlined gameplay. Additionally you pay more for games because of the subsidization of hardware.
