This game looks less interesting than MAG, and MAG bombed.

MAG was a pretty sweet game to be fair. 256 battles were incredible, if a little chaotic.

MAG was crap.

@chaz. i had to pay for Warhawk and Starhawk. They weren't FREE. No one is forcing you to buy Titanfall. Just like I wasn't force to pay $60 for the terrible Knack. If a game isn't up to your standards. Don't buy it.

Warhawk and Starhawk also had single player content. You know? And offline content.

Oh, and as for Knack, why bring that up? Did you see me ever praise it, even once?

Actually, why bring any of the Sony games that you have so far up? Have you ever seen me say anything good about a single one of them?

You seem to be under the impression that I am a cow, apparently.

Warhawk didn't have single player game. It was online only. Starhawk had both. I still had to pay for them. That was my point of mentioning those games. I brought up Knack because it was $60 and had lots of faults I didn't care for. Similar to what you are doing with Titanfall. You see a LOT of faults with the game. If that's how you feel, don't buy it. I don't care if your a Cow or not. I haven't seen you say anything good about anything. lol!!

Warhawk had offline multiplayer. Split screen. And you know what, **** Warhawk too, really.

Again, why bring up Knack as if you were trying to accuse me? it has nothing to do with what I had to say.

You haven't seen me say good about anything? Jeez, I could have sworn I'm known for hyperbolizing any game I remotely like with fucking insane superlatives. Are you sure you are talking about the right poster here? Lol??

You mad bro. lmao!! Doesn't seem like you even read my post. Read it again. Maybe you'lll get it the 2nd time around. Take a Xanax while you're at it.

Lmao at the irony!

16 maps for a FPS game is a low number?

Ya, that's the only thing I really disagree with.

Let me preface this by saying- Until recently, I liked what I have seen of Titanfall. It looks like it will be a fun game. Until recently, I was on board the hype train.

And now I am not.

As more and more about Titanfall has been unveiled, one thing has become progressively clear- this game is shockingly lacking in content. Seriously, it's shocking that EA is having the gall to sell this for $60.

Let's recap:

  • There is no single player mode - So? Its a multiplayer game, lets call all SP games crap now because they don't have Multiplayer.... idiotic complaint.
  • There is no offline multiplayer or split screen mode Oh no... all 2 people that care..
  • There are only twelve active players allowed per map, in a maximum of 6v6 matchups and?
  • There are only sixteen maps There is only 1 map on DoTA... whats your point? how is 16 maps small anyway? jesus christ.
  • The game looks like ass; it's using what looks to be an old, unoptimized build of Source, and while I don't care about graphics if the game makes up for it in other areas, this just seems to be another area where the game is lacking on top of all the others does look rather dated....
  • There are only three 'Titans' (you know, the things they named the game after?) in the game so?
  • It won't even output graphics higher than 720p. Again, if the graphics aren't anything special to begin with, why the **** can it not at least have a decent resolution? Just where the hell did all that development time go?

And they are having the gall to sell this for $60? Just where did the game's massive development budget go? Litigation against Activision? In marketing the **** out of it to ensure all the (unjustified) hype it has been getting?

You know what the worst part is? You now they will add content to it later- more Titans, more maps, maybe even campaigns that players can play themselves. This is, basically, a glorified free to play game, but it has the nerve to charge $60 for itself up front.

I have no doubt that this game will do well with sales. It will probably even manage to garner some decent scores. And that, more than anything else, I think, is a sad, scathing, commentary on the current state of our gaming industry.

Pathetic.

grasping at straws charizard.

Most nintendo games must suck since thye don't have MP... how dare they charge full price.

Titanfall wasn't in my radar but after this amazing thread and reading it word by word, it is now. Will be buying this full price day number one for the Xbox One! Can not wait! Best hype thread I've read in awhile.

Most of them have multiplayer, just not online multiplayer. I generally agree with you, though. A game not having a singleplayer campaign can still be good to people who don't like singleplayer. It just can't be good to someone like me, who gets really bored with online FPS, and really enjoys a good singleplayer fps campaign.

Single player Nintendo games are fully featured single player games. Those that are not, are slammed. This is a multiplayer game that is half assed- not even any local split screen? Yeah, **** that.

.... its an online esport focused Multiplayer shooter.

how hard is that to grasp? because its not fitting the special snowflake nearly-non-existent local play non-lan shooter scene? because its not being made to appease the special snowflakes that want to walk down a corridor for 6 hours shooting the same a.i scripted bots?

I'm not impressed with the game, going to wait and see. but your logic is bias and flawed.

My friend, Call of Duty made huge wods of money. PR driven fake media hype for what publishers are sure will rake in the loadsamoney.

The game absolutely looks like ass. Something the media has conveniently ignored.

Well it is EA, I bet that add more mechs or titans as DLC for like 5-7 bucks each and a single player campaign down the road for 15-20 bucks LOL

Enemy Territory was awesome. Quake Wars, with the it's base building mechanic was genuinely interesting and (somewhat) innovating.

The Titanfall should be free to play campaing started by jelly Sony shills it is like a marketing campaing to sabotage the game on gaming forums.

fkn gross Sony employees are really something else.

They hate Titanfall being a MP only game yet they keep releasing short Single player only game like Infamous order 1887.

Stopped caring because of selective choice. TC seemed to be fine with only minor or small excitement for other titles with the same issues. Why he is picking on respawns overhyped game seems very strange and make no sense. Other than the fact it's an overhyped game.

Not every game has to have multi-player, especially if it has excellent single player. That's a different case for multi-player only games that costs 60 bucks as MP games have included single player for years. Besides, TitanFall looks like a first gen 360 game. Nothing special about it besides manufacturered hype from MS shills.

Only 16 maps? WTF that's more than any FPS I can think of launched with and even more than any other game for that matter.

"Only twelve active players per game" Has nothing to do with your Overhyped free to play idea, that is the number they feel most comfortable doing, and you shouldn't judge it before you play it.

"Looks Like Ass" It looks really good so I'm not sure what you're talking about, rather I want to know what you're comparing it to because if it's something like Killzone Shadow Fall, or Crysis 3 I might understand it but even then you're just being silly.

"No Singleplayer mode" Why add singleplayer mode if it doesn't fit and would only be a waste of resources? I can only imagine the amount of people that don't play the story modes on games like COD or BF, (Hell I haven't touched BF4's yet).

Would like to think this is your usual trolling banter char, but I feel like you're dead serious.

Better value than Ground Zero at least. XD

I don't think it's worth full price either but just waiting for a price drop and that's it. Looks like a fun FPS. (Can't believe I said that :O)

seems as thought the game is being marketed based on the dev's past pedigree.

No one else would have the balls to try and flog this limited over-hyped game for full price...maybe R* they seem to get a free pass no matter what.

that makes no sense....O_o

how is a singleplayer only game more valuable than a multiplayer only game? with a singleplayer game you're done with it after a playthrough or two. which could last 10 to 15 hours each go thru, if ur lucky. with a multiplayer game it can last for years. it'll always be new and fresh to the user because the situation is always different and ur playing different people who each play differently.

also, a multiplayer only game is much more valuable than a singleplayer only game. a shame that you don't know that. if a game has both, great. but if you had to choose which was more worth the $60 it'd obviously be the Multiplayer only game over a short campaign driven game with no multiplayer. i'm not even an online gamer and know a games fun factor, and longevity dictates how valuable it is...buying a game hoping the devs are good at storytelling is damn stupid. rent a FN movie if that is what you want...for buying a video game what's important is that its fun, and it has re-playability. thats whats valuable in a video game. the short story driven games are known as rentals and thats why Playstation games are called...rentals lol. they're great rides to take...but they're over in 8 hours then over. 8 hours isnt worth $60.

I know this is system wars Miss Charry, but you have just spent eleven hours of your life bad mouthing a game you haven't played. If that isn't some kind of epic butt hurt record, I have seriously underestimated how much punishment the human bottom can endure. That said, the easiest way to counter all your 'points' is simply: Check back in when you have played it a bit! I mean come one, Minecraft looks stupid as hell until it eats the time you were supposed to spend sleeping, and then calls in sick for you so that you can fly to the moon and harvest cheese.

There is however one point no one can dispute: Origin? Seriously? Darn it, I wanted to jet pack parkour up a Mech while it tried to shoot me. Why does EA hate nerd fun?

I was just watching a Giant Bomb quick look and they were talking about people like you. Those people that bitch about Origin, when in reality it is a fundamentally solid service. I remember when Steam came out, people treated it even worse. The only reason Origin is hated so much is because it is tied to EA.

Hmm TF2 was like $20 when it came out? I don't see why it's $45 either (PC) unless it's very good or fleshed out.

But I haven't played the game yet so...
I hope the price isn't elevated because of all the marketing or some celebrity appearance that I don't care for.

Okay people let's be serious. Almost no-one hypes it here. Problem is cows make it look like it's hyped for some reason.

OP with another troll topic, designed to get a rise.

16 maps is not low.

Who the actual **** cares about single player in a game like this. How many people complete the single player mode in CoD? I'd say it's on the wrong side of 15%. Furthermore, of that 15% or less, who thoroughly enjoys the lackluster campaign? Fewer than 20%, probably. Obviously, I'm pulling those numbers out of my backside, but nobody buys CoD for the single player.

I know many on this board have expressed that they wish they would do away with such an insignificant part of the game and focus on the aspect that does matter: Fast, competitive, enjoyable online Multiplayer. All the let's plays of similar games on Youtube and Twitch don't showcase the linear campaign, they cast a spotlight on the balls-to-the-wall mental Multiplayer. That's where the action is, literally.

It's 60 quid for a title that will last you ALL YEAR LONG and beyond, that's pretty cheap entertainment if you ratio it up (money spent):(dozens/hundreds of hours played).

6 vs 6? How is player cap an indicator of quality? Why does that matter? Not all games follow a strict template in game design. Some work better with dozens, others prefer a smaller, streamlined approach. This point should be struck out of the OP.

Graphics haven't looked incredible, but it appears more than adequate. Shouldn't be an issue. If you want to look at pretty walls, take your ass elsewhere.

I won't even be buying Titanfall, but I can still come to the conclusion that it'll be an incredible game.

tl;dr, Just another troll post by TC, as he is so fond of doing, and holds himself in such high regard when he thinks he succeeds . Shake My Head.

Haha, I like you.

Just to be devils advocate: nearly every COD fan I know plays the campaigns to completion before jumping into multiplayer. I stopped buying COD after Modern Warfare 2 but have borrowed all of them purely for single player. They are awesome, action packed rollercoaster rides. I don't think Titanfall needs a single player mode but lets not dismiss the games that do? Now if you were to use Battlefield single player campaign as your example... :P

Indeed, maybe Battlefield would be a better example of wrongly distributed resources. I was just referring to my own group of mates, who wouldn't be big gamers, but play all the usual tosh sometimes. Not one of them is interested in the single player. Save for a couple of times where we lashed through the Spec Ops in MW2 (such glorious memories, got every single star).

I just doubt that if CoD lacked a single player, sales would stall or even be noticeably affected. It's a nice bonus to have, but not really a cornerstone of the titles.

lol all the cows be clicking their fingers 'Mmmm Hmmm you go girl'.

On topic, I'd rather they don't waste my time with single player if it's just going to be tacked on.

And you can't judge on the stats before you know the context. Like the 6 on 6 thing or whatever. I doubt the reason is technical. Does it occur to people that they've been tweaking it and playing around with it and seeing what works?

MAG allowed for shit loads of players, but it didn't make the game a big deal. I'm not getting Titanfall because i'm not big into multiplayer games. But you need to wait and see how it turns out as a complete product.

Did they actually confirm 16 maps? IMO it is a rumour

I cant find any official statement on that.

In any case ...if it is a rumour I'm willing to bet its less then 16 maps :)

My friend, being young with a Halo avatar, you probably are oblivious to superior titles such as Quake 2, Halflife, Halflife 2 e.t.c...

Indeed, my friend, even the expansion pack for Halflife features a stellar single player and over a dozen maps.

I find it very sad to see the younger generation as yourself rather obnoxiously trying to educate people when it seems pretty clear, you are fairly new to the medium. The argument of "games are shit now, and people have very low expectations, why not this and you?" is indeed a very poor argument.

Quality over quantity every time. I don't care how much there is content as long as that content is great.

@kuu2: It's "hated" in the same amount as lemmings praise it to the heavens (without playing it). It's how SW rolls brah!

Actually the ones praising it to the heavens is everyone that has played it. The people hating it are the peasants here on SW that have not played a single moment of the game. Oh well I guess, I will be enjoying it day one. The game would be getting very little praise if it had not had such amazing reviews so far.

Just gonna drop this here again since people don't seem to understand the reason it has been hyped.

Pretty damn sure the lemmings here didn't play the Beta. So yeeeeaaah. SW rules brah.

Shouldn't be long until they either have A) Another bragging right or B) Another flop (assuming of course they'll the guts to make a hype thread).

Actually @FoxbatAlpha played the game and had nothing but good things to say about it. But don't let facts get in the way of your lack of them.

Hopefully someone will make a hype thread but there are very few Lemmings that are left. Wish I had time and skill enough to do it justice.

AAA is the hype for me, looking forward to the game.

Damn skippy. The wall jumping and the free running are more a rush than the titans themselves. Don't underestimate any potential here. This will be a system seller much like Halo on the original Xbox.

Oh really, one of the biggest lemmings had ONLY good things to say about Titanfall? Why am I not surprised? lol Regardless, it's not only been him making dumb threads about the game left and right. So like I said, SW giveth and SW taketh. It's just how it rolls!

Make it brah! Get dem photoshop skills and make it happen! :P That or ask @Slashkice or @AdobeArtist for help with it ;) They usually make some badass threads!

I still find it in my heart to say bad things about Xbox and some of its games. Right now Titanfall is new and exciting, which is something the game industry is lacking on great occasions.

Based on what I saw at E3, this was going to be a day one purchase for me. Now, with all the new news about this game, I'm going to wait and see reviews, gameplay, etc before I purchase it.

I think char doesn't really play FPS, when I read that I was wth that's actually a lot for a FPS which usually per FPS you're lucky to get 6-8 maps.

Anyways I'm on the fence with Titanfail, I give it a lot of shyte but I would be lying if I said it doesn't intrigue me.

My friend, it's a "next gen" game and it's one of the worst looking source powered games around.

Even very old games like Team Fortress 2 get around it with beautiful art style to make up for the lack of technical proficiency. This just looks like shit. Unlike Team Fortress 2 (which is timeless) time will not be kind to this title.

But hey, you can buy TitanFall 2 in 2015.
