all you lemmings out there say the xbox 360 is really cheaper than the ps3 but ACTUALLY the ps3 is cheaper!

Well you don't need the hd player, and you don't need the wireless adapter because you can still use a nifty ole etherned cable. So lets remove 300 bucks of that 900. So that makes 600. Then let's remeber that the PS3 doesn't come with HD cables, so add 90 bucks onto that price. Soo 600 to 690. You still lose even with the slyly added 4 years of XBL.
That's funny. I seem to do just fine with only the $ 400 machine. I have no need for the HDDVD Add-On and wireless is just a choice you can make to have. It is in no way required. And yes, Live costs money. But it's a much better experience then PSN. So;
Xbox 360 $ 400 + 4 years Live $ 200 = $ 600. Playstation 3 $ 600 + $ 0 PSN = $ 600.

Xbox 360; Better game library, superior online service and play, customer support Playstation 3; Waiting for games, standard online play
The better choice right now should be clear. If upcoming PS3 titles interest you more then X360 titles, then you obviously should get a PS3. But from a general standpoint X360 is the choice.
