No one is going to migrate from consoles to vita to play CoD when the biggest aspect of CoD is online and the Vita doesn't support 3G network online gaming.

Why play CoD Portable on the Vita when you can play MW3 on your 50" LED PS3/Xbox?

The main thing about Monster Hunter is its exclusivity. You either buy a 3DS to play Monster Hunter, or you don't play it at all. CoD is released on so many systems that the chances of you having a system that can play CoD is high. Who would shell out another $300 just to play CoD when you already have CoD on PS3/Xbox

and you'll be playing with a Wifi Connection.

You might as well be playing Call of Duty on a PS3 or Xbox 360.

[QUOTE="Kaszilla"][QUOTE="ms555"]"but call of duty sucks!".... Yeah perhaps it does perhaps it doesnt. It doesnt really matter cus call of duty moves sales. For those of you that missed the peice of news, vita has a call of duty game coming for it as we speak, one that will be a true shooter on the go with the online multiplayer to boot. U dont care? Well millions of call of duty fanboys and 13 year olds will. Keep in mind 3ds improved in japan, but its main boost was when it got monster hunter. Call of duty is the monster hunter of the west, and tho i love my 3ds, 3ds can not offer a real portable call of duty experience Whether u hate or love call of duty, know this. When Call of Duty Vita comes around, watch vita fly off shelves And ps, ps vita has SO many games being made for it right now, practically every third party besides like valve, bioware, and bethesda are putting men on vita projects as we speak. Believe me, if for some bazaar reason uncharted cant catch ur eye, something is surely coming soon that will

The DS and PSP has COD.

The graphical capabilities and controls of Vita are more suited for a COD game.

It's irrelevant to talk about DS/PSP CoD because they're experience differ so much from the console. Lack of 2nd Analog killed it on the PSP. In IGN's preview of Resistance Burning Skies, they talk about how it is the nearest FPS handheld that duplicates consoles.

Also, unless the dev messes it up, the superior version will always be on the Vita than on 3DS.

Because not only would you get to play Call of Duty ON THE GO, and remember that you WONT always be inside of your home to play the console version, not unless you are a stay at home hermit, But you will also then be able to experience the total awesome-ness of the Vita , and all the other games that are out or are coming out for it. lol but basically, The Vita needs that one title that is going to bring attention to it, and bring people to the system, so that they can then experience everything else about it, and hopefully then start to enjoy the system. It needs a killer app! Japan didn't have that killer app like title. But I strongly believe that Uncharted WILL be that killer app in North America, And that a Call of Duty console like experience for on the go, could also be the game that pushes the Vita into popular status. But regardless, I only know one thing for sure, and that is, that IM going to buy the Vita day 1 son! And if i enjoy it, then that is all that will matter to me! I'll be happy with my purchase! It is just looking like too much of an awesome handheld for me to pass up in all sincerity. The price seems right, I like the games coming out for it, it is sleak, it is very powerful, and it has some interesting features that im looking to try out.

Because PC gamers don't care about CoD like console gamers do.

not as big of a player base for fps games. No shooters on pc sell like console shooters

A big problem they'll have is convincing people to pay 50$ for the same game twice.

They should bundle the ps3/VITA versions for an extra 10$, with cloud saving, earning prestige on the go, etc... and really show this in a commercial.

im really surprised SONY didn't get on this sooner.

Instead they have Hot Shots Golf? A game that looks and plays the same on PSP? and a bunch of touch-based games that don't showcase the true advantage of the VITA, the dual-analog sticks.

They need to have games like COD, Skyrim, AC, BF3, etc on day 1 to shake the image that portable playstations are just consoles with gimped controls.

I think that the Vita should strive to find a great balance between handheld per say titles, and big budget console like titles. That balance will be important! And of course, the titles that will also take advantage of its unique features, After all it is still a handheld, but by then offering those console like games, they could bring in a whole new groupe of gamers into handheld gaming.

If one was in the desire to play Call of Duty such systems already exist and it is deemed unnecessary to waste more money on a new system

Yeah its like nobody is paying attention! Haha, look people for example paid over 200 bucks to play mariokart 7 this xmas.... Are they idiots?! There is already a superior mariokart for wii, so by that logic mariokart 7 is an illigical purchase. Super mario 3d land is great but also just a sorta appetizer to mario galaxy on wii...... Realize all of this, even nintendo makes ganes for their portables that have console superiors but they sell systems! Why cant call of duty?!!

If 3G could be used for the game on the Vita you might have had a point (Keyword might) since it cannot you will be forced to play COD on a wireless network anyway so now explain why anyone would chose to play a handheld version of COD at home (Unless they actively search out a free Wireless network or tether their Vita/Carry around pocket wifi for the Vita) when the console version is sitting right there to use on a bigger screen????????

COD is not played for the single player experience (It barely has one to begin with) so being on a handheld means nothing if you can't easily and comfortably get online with it anywhere. You cannot honestly expect your average player to call up his buddies on any random day and tell them to get their Vita's for an online COD session -_- the obvious response to that would be what's the point if were at home we might as well play the console version.

You can get a 3G PSV, unless the 3G sucks for some reason I don't know about [aside from being AT&T]. I have absolutely no interest in the 3G model regardless, but the option is still there. Also, its really not hard to get WiFi outside of your house... depending on where you live.

The 3g thing does limit the COD factor considerably.

But Sony should still push games like Skyrim in the US, and Final Fantasy 15 or whatever in Japan, where you can continue leveling up your characters when you leave the house.
