To those complaining about $10 Halo 3 Maps.

Pssht, I'm done with Halo 3. Adding Rocket Race was nice and everything, but I feel as if I need something actually worth my money and time. After getting all 1000 achievement points Halo just seems.... Bleh.

You won't regret picking up COD4. The MP is hella fun. 13 maps includes already. And for how much fun I've had with the game, I'llbe happy to pay for more map packs with this game. But it'll be more than just map packs. IW will probably be adding new weapons and modes in the future, and probably raise the levels. Halo 3 should just kill over and die. The fight is finished. Let it die off till we hear something about Halo 4 (which I hope Bungie just forgets and move on to original IP's. Their talant can be put to better use).

Well, you see it's not the issue of HOW MUCH money you are paying, but the fact that you HAVE to pay (at least for the first 6 months) in order to get them. When you haven't had to pay for something in the past (PC Gamers) it seems ridiculous for you to have to pay for it now.

Would you pay extra money to use the Drive Thru at any fast food restaraunt instead of walking inside?

YOu hit the nail on the head. If XBL was an open system, people would be able to make their own maps, upload them and users could download them for free.

Instead, this MS controlled system means you pay for your game, pay to play online, then pay again for maps that users would have created and made available for free if given the chance. They aren't doing anyone any favours by charging $10 for something users would have gladly made on their own for free.

You gotta be pretty dense to let companies like microsoft milk you like a cow, no matter how much money you have. Sure $10 isnt alot of money, but you need to put it in perspective. Would you pay $10 for a big mac at mcdonalds? Hell no, right? Even if you make 500k a year, who in their right mind would pay $10 for a big mac when you can walk accross the street and get a better burger for 1.99? An idiot, thats who. Someone who doesnt know how to manage money. Someone who doesnt know when they are being totally ripped off.

How can companies like Valve release mountains and mountains of similar content for FREE? How can other companies release entire expansion packs for $10? This halo3 hero pack is a blatant ripoff. It's sickening because the more people buy into this crap the more companies will try to milk you users for cash. If microsoft makes a killing by selling 3 maps for $10, then whats next? Who will be the next company to charge a huge amount of money for minimal content?

And the real kicker is....the maps probably cost the companies pennies to make! We all know map making isnt a team job. it's one or two people working with a proprietary or a 3rd party modeler for a week or two, tops. On top of that, I can almost garuntee you that these maps were at least partially complete before halo3 launched.

If bungie released their sdk for halo3, you'd see 1000 top quality user made maps the NEXT WEEK. FOR FREE!

The game was released just over a month or so ago and already $10 maps coming out? You guys SHOULD be pissed and complain. I would for any game, that's just bs.

I completely agree. If you can't afford it you will get it for free in a couple of months. I will be playing Halo for 100s of hours in the next few months so $10 is just pennies.

For a multilplayer inthusiest like me Halo represents the ultimate value, only rivaled by counter-strike

lets say in the end I play Halo 3 for 1000 hours and pay $100 for the game and all the map packs. Would you pay 10 cents and hour to be fully entertained?

Well, they can wait and get it for free next year before the next map pack is out, if they really cannot afford it. However, I will definitely be picking it up because it will be more variety, and I really dont care for several of the maps we have now. Valhalla, High Ground, The Pit, and Sandtrap are the best ones they have right now. JediRiff
